And normally it wouldn’t bother me but he’s already bubbled with his TA at work. I knew something was a miss when I got up at 530 for work and one of the stray cats from out side was asleep on my kitchen chair! Normally he’s so good he lets me know if someone’s staying and he hasn’t had anyone over since this lockdown. Should I say anything I can hear them having a good time or should I just turn the radio up and get ready for work?😃

Cuba?

This gets better..

notsosmoothie · 31/01/2021 09:14

I heard giggling in the lodgers room. And talking. And I thought he must be on the phone to Cuba.

Of course! A post-Brexit (d)alliance!

This thread is headed for Classics...

NeedToKnow101 · 31/01/2021 09:14

Dunno about the lodger, but your cats looks guilty as hell OP.

WeeDangerousSpike · 31/01/2021 09:15

Is he usually good about wiping down surfaces etc?

WinkGrinWinkGrin

Also, And I thought he must be on the phone to Cuba. I know you think you're explaining, but you're really not! This is like talking to MIL.....

ssd · 31/01/2021 09:15

Cuba eh?

shivermetimbers77 · 31/01/2021 09:16

Have read the whole thread and clear on the cats but for the love of god, what does TA mean?!

mootymoo · 31/01/2021 09:18

Unless his ta lives alone he cannot meet outside of work, you don't get a bubble in his circumstances. Its people like this, making own rules which is extending the misery for the rest of us! The problem weekly surveillance report said cases had plateaued in a he community week on week, not dropping, thus is why. Stay at home people!

c75kp0r · 31/01/2021 09:19

Perhaps the lodger is a teacher so is in a bubble with a teaching assistant?

notsosmoothie · 31/01/2021 09:21

Yes, but what about if he takes the cat to Cuba?! 🤣
Brenna24 · 31/01/2021 09:24

If the ta is a single mother living with just her kids then he is allowed to be her bubble. So that explains that one.

That black and white cat is definitely shifty. I love him.

theotherfossilsister · 31/01/2021 09:24

@hauntedvagina

Was really struggling to understand why the Office for National Statistics was in your lodgers room.
being audited

It's been said loads of times on the thread - it usually means teaching assistant.
idloveapie · 31/01/2021 09:25

that cat on the right looks guilty as fuck.

I'd have words and hide the Dreamies, although you might find a headless mouse in your bed tomorrow.

Frownette · 31/01/2021 09:29

Is the cat still there? I think you may have to pack your bags OP, you've been taken over by the national statistics office and black cats rule HQ.

Don't try to resist such forces, it will only end badly.

Biscoffaddict · 31/01/2021 09:30

OP why have you not explained, despite being asked repeatedly, what a TA is? Is he a teacher and this his teaching assistant?

Northernparent68 · 31/01/2021 09:31

The risk is pretty minimal, let him get on with it.

Hugoslavia · 31/01/2021 09:32

Perhaps the cat is the one having a ons and insisted on bringing his owner with him.

Chunkymenrock · 31/01/2021 09:34

72% of them decided to stay for a good time. 28% encouraged the stray cats in, for a tuna party in the kitchen.

Enidcat5 · 31/01/2021 09:36

This thread has had me in stitches.

For the love of cats OP please can you put us out of our misery and confirm that TA is Teaching Assistant!?

EachandEveryone · 31/01/2021 09:37

@Biscoffaddict

OP why have you not explained, despite being asked repeatedly, what a TA is? Is he a teacher and this his teaching assistant?
Why haven’t you wrt? TA is teaching assistant unless there is another pc word for them that I don’t know about.

She was not in my flat this morning she is Polish and this person wasn’t. He is not in a relationship which her. Anything else?

Nishky · 31/01/2021 09:38

Get rid of lodger and keep the free cat!

Problem solved. You’re welcome

Maireas · 31/01/2021 09:41

It's a very straightforward mumsnet problem. The OP found a cat, doubling as a pimp, in the kitchen. The lodger has a connection to the Territorial Army and the Office for National Statistics and Cuba. Oh, and has a Polish girlfriend.
I really don't know what's complicated or unusual about that.

VettiyaIruken · 31/01/2021 09:41

The ops lodger brings someone home when the op is asleep. The op discovers this when she gets up for work the following day and she needs to examine her morals?

Fucking hell.

EachandEveryone · 31/01/2021 09:41

My lodger is not in the TAs although he does have plenty of time on his hands maybe I should suggest it?

I have enclosed a photo of who my lodger is the double of. I told him that last week when I asked if he wanted to give a deposit, this was only said in jest btw so don’t get excited

I was totally confused and astonished and horrified, and then confused again.....
But when you mentioned he was on the phone to Cuba.... CUBA ffs!!! It all suddenly became clear. The territorial army, the office for National statistics, the prostitute pussy and her pimp, they were all red herrings!!!!
