I put the guinea pigs out for a bit in the afternoon. So when it gets dark I say 'I am just going to get the guinea pigs' then I walk out in the back garden, and carry their house in, which by this time they are hiding in.

itsbiganditsorange · 28/01/2021 17:33

I have five guitars in my bedroom.

Bagelsandbrie · 28/01/2021 17:34

My kids brush their teeth in the kitchen sink. No idea how this started, think it was when they were little and got ready for school and I could keep an eye on them whilst doing kitchen stuff but they are 9 and nearly 18 now and still do it ConfusedGrin

I do this! For toast and then I have a fresh loaf out for other stuff!

Tons of people freeze bread!

BertieBotts · 28/01/2021 17:35

We have two desks and computers set up in the living room. Not just in corona times. It's been like this since we first moved in together in 2011.

BertieBotts · 28/01/2021 17:36

All the first three my mum does, although I think her max number of guitars was 3.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 28/01/2021 17:36

I freeze milk. My friends think that's bonkers, but I think it's completely normal.

LaceyBetty · 28/01/2021 17:37

We freeze bread. We have two bathrooms, but no bathtub. Only showers.

MadameTuffington · 28/01/2021 17:37

My house bunny sleeps in bed with me - he is extremely clean and fully house trained - everyone I know finds it funny 🐇

Toocold · 28/01/2021 17:38

Freeze bread and milk here, I think lots of people probably do at the moment.

safariboot · 28/01/2021 17:45

Leaving the bathroom door open while on the toilet, and talking to people in other rooms. Ahem. (The layout is such that you are at least out of sight when on the loo.)

Ifailed · 28/01/2021 17:48

Having a toilet in a completely separate room, apparently the latest fad is to have it next to your bed so your partner can hear, smell and watch as you take a dump and wipe your arse.

DinosaurOfFire · 28/01/2021 17:49

@BertieBotts We used to do that but now have an "office " which is the 3rd bedroom, where dh works from home in the day and we game together during the evenings.

Weird thing in our house is we chose to put the office in the 3rd bedroom and keep the toddler in our room for longer as he sleeps better that way (in his own bed) and we really value our computer room! He will go in with his 2 older sisters at some point, they have a playroom downstairs so its just a sleeping room.

Spanielmadness · 28/01/2021 17:52

I have the cuddly snakes from IKEA tied around the legs of both sofas in the living room. There are 4 snakes altogether.

They stop Harold (my robot hoover) from getting stuck underneath when he’s pooling around.

I think I need to name change now!

I don't find it funny 🤢

I think that's sweet. Not really any different to a cat sleeping on the bed (I usually have at least one cat with me every night)!
Bryna · 28/01/2021 18:00

@Bagelsandbrie same here, we have a drawer in the kitchen for toothbrushes and paste, much better than all the germs flying up from the toilet (MIL will not put the seat down!🤢)

Stretchandsnap · 28/01/2021 18:02

the mirrors, hooks, coat rack etc. in our house are hung much higher on the wall (I’m 6’1and DH 6’5) our shorter friends are always a bit shocked as they can’t reach to hang up their coats

Houseinthemiddle · 28/01/2021 18:03

Dh has turned our bomb shelter into a mini gym, he's put in a rowing machine and a weights set.

When we clear out more stuff I'd like a bike and a treadmill.

That passes for normal in this house 😍

We have a house hen. She is sat on my lap right now in front of the fire. She's beautiful.

BleepingBleepyBleeeep · 28/01/2021 18:07

We have an altar… (no really, it’s for online communion while church is closed 😆)

We also have two grandfather clocks.

I love hens. I was pleasantly surprised by how affectionate they are (I have outdoor hens, still give them strokes and let them hop onto my lap though)!
