@Nydj

sunbird I am very tempted to get a front zip bra/crop-top except their size chart is no use to me whatsoever. Oh well.

We had leftovers for dinner.

Same here. They need to add that sizing range to their lingerie page.
Salvagehunter · 27/01/2021 21:56

@eggypeggy sorry but just because they're asking the children to be in communal areas for their Zooms you're assuming the teachers don't want to do it?! It's obviously for child protection reasons

EggyPegg · 27/01/2021 21:57

@Frazzled99

I like this thread. I cleaned the entire house today top to bottom....even got the mop and duster out. Can't remember the last time I saw them. This about the right level of mundane?
Perfect. Welcome to the thread.

I broke one of my favourite fridge magnets today. It's fixable. I just need to find the glue.

soddingkitten · 27/01/2021 22:03

Speaking of glue, did we ever receive the pants/superglue explanation? I still needto understand the nature of that repair. I can’t rest until I know.

I dawdled and missed all the online food delivery slots for this weekend. I will have to physically go to the supermarket this weekend for a proper weekly shop. 😱 COVID has sucked any remaining joy out of the experience.

Hello @Salvagehunter. Welcome to the thread.

I did not say that the teachers did not want to do it. I said that the school did not want to get onboard with the whole Zoom thing last March and my impression was that they were still reluctant. Given that I work in a school, I understand completely that it is for safeguarding reasons. Hence my 'cover themselves' comment.

We're quite conversational on this thread, it was general chatter and not to be picked over. I suggest that if you want a bun fight, AIBU is that way ---->

EggyPegg · 27/01/2021 22:04

@soddingkitten, I nearly posted about that the other day! We were left hanging there!

Sunbird24 · 27/01/2021 22:12

I must have missed the whole pants/superglue thing! I don’t get on the thread when I’m at work so I do miss quite a lot though...

Frownette · 27/01/2021 22:40

I'm quite small chested so don't think the bras would suit me, balconette all the way. Bet they're comfortable!

I had a catnap this evening, we had a simple supper of spaghetti with tuna and sprouts, butter and black pepper and seasalt.

I saw someone earlier who I was close to when we were both single, we don't talk like we used to which makes me a little sad as normally we ask each other loads of questions.

How come you have to be on site Sunbird24?

@NotanotherboxofFrogs I keep wondering about the prison system and how much good it does - the sentence was only a few weeks so they'll be out pretty soon anyway, it was very minor. Must be hard for your friend as a family.

Sodding is cute :)

Sunbird24 · 27/01/2021 22:54

Ooh your supper sounds tasty @Frownette

My house is 4hrs away from where I work and they have employee accommodation on site so I stay here. My parents are 90 mins away so sometimes I go there on a weekend for a break, they are my bubble so it’s ok.

Frownette · 27/01/2021 23:08

Ah, 4 hours is quite a way. Nice you're a bit closer to your family, though.

Silkiechickscat · 28/01/2021 04:33

DH just went downstairs and gave the cat a tin of tuna and brought me a hot milk. He said the cat did not make her usual thank you noise for the tuna, brruup. I pointed out it was past 4am so cat would have been expecting her second breakfast by then and he should consider himself lucky not to have been bitten and scratched for such slow service. Smile It could be she was also half-asleep as she was awake but not howling for food.

I've been looking at summer holidays in Devon as can't see us being able to go abroad this year with covid and loved Devon last summer.

Sunbird24 · 28/01/2021 05:05

Your DH is a keeper Silkie even if not up to cat’s exacting standards!

I snored myself awake at 0330 and can’t get back to sleep, even with Antiques Roadtrip on the tv...

halfpasteleven · 28/01/2021 06:17

We made crispy chicken bites and chocolate biscuit cake to pass the rainy day.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 28/01/2021 06:30

I have an idea for the pants and glue riddle Smile

The heating is off. I could now enrich your MFL vocabularies with words not commonly taught in lessons, but I won' t. I get a coffee and solve the problem.
Thanks for Dobby.

EggyPegg · 28/01/2021 06:33

I rolled over in bed this morning and knocked EggyCat1 off the bed with my knee. When I fell asleep I was on my side and she was perched on me.

Going through until 0430 is good going @Silkiechickscat. Where in Devon are you thinking?

@Sunbird24, snoring yourself awake is hilarious!

Frownette · 28/01/2021 06:34

I woke up and sneezed 5 times on the trot, now considering what to have for breakfast.

I think fresh baguette with mushrooms and melted cheese. Checked the weather and it's 12° (sunshine later Shock), does anyone know what it mean when they also give a figure 'feels like 10° or whatever? I wondered how they calculate that

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 28/01/2021 06:51

@Frownette
They send sb on work experience outside to stand around and report back.

EggyPegg · 28/01/2021 07:08

I just did my second Covid test of the week. The intrusion into my nose and throat caused a rather violent sneeze.

I didn't put the windscreen cover on my car last night as it was due to be a balmy 9°. @Frownette, I think it's actual measured temperature vs how it feels when you add in other elements such as wind chill. I have no idea how they calculate it though.

Come on "Prok. I make a conscious effort not to swear in front of the DC, so being able to in another language would be useful. Maybe Silkie* could pass on some colourful French from her DH too

Frownette · 28/01/2021 07:20

I looked it up and apparently it factors in how wind and humidity feel on your skin as opposed to measured temperature. Wonder if it ever goes higher, as it's usually lower?

I'm off to get mushrooms for brek soon.

Oh Eggy the nose bit really does make you sneeze!! Have you had symptoms?

EggyPegg · 28/01/2021 07:51

I think I saw it higher in the summer when we had that heatwave as the humidity caused ih to feel hotter.

No symptoms. I work in a school so we have to do home tests twice a week now and log the result on the gov website.

I've attached a picture. There are 7 per box and we collect more when needed.

I have to take DS to the guitar shop. I am assured this is essential as it is to drop off a broken bass guitar which he needs for college work (DS is a stickler for the rules so I am tempted to believe this is true. We can't go in anyway so it's not that)

We may even have a McDonald's while we're at it

Frownette · 28/01/2021 10:20

I had an early appointment right by McDonald's and forgot to check if it was open. Doh!

Went into Boots to sample a couple of perfumes but they've taken all the samplers away and put the odd bottle of sanitizer in some holders.

Apparently someone rang the doorbell at 4am? I didn't hear it.

Squirrel26 · 28/01/2021 12:20

Ooh, it’s payday! What shall I buy first? New toothpaste, or more hoover bags?

N0ManJan · 28/01/2021 13:23

Thank you for the welcome everyone.

Made the most of the trip out by wearing a nice dress and perfume. I was practically strutting down the aisles. Grin

The weather is miserable today so I’m finishing my binge watch of It’s a Sin and trying to forget about the mini eggs chocolate bar I bought yesterday

EggyPegg · 28/01/2021 13:32

Toothpaste, definitely.

I was paid on Monday. Following a conversation on a different thread, I bought a new scarf. But to calm your quickening pulses, you should know that I also bought screenwash and a chamis sponge to demist the car.
