Hope you're okay @halfpasteleven.

@Silkiechickscatz I hope you are now back in bed and fast asleep.
I used to make vegan pancakes when I was vegan. I found that the keg wasn't adding more milk, but just putting less batter in the pan and then moving the pan round to ensure the base was covered with just a thin layer of batter.
I use the Jamie Oliver 1 cup recipe.
1 cup milk (of your choosing)
1 cup flour (plain for crepes/ self raising for American style)
1 egg or linseeds for vegans (one heaped spoonful is the equivalent to 1 egg).

Welcome @Serena1977. That's equally as disappointing as too strong.

Welcome @ssd, I love raisins but haven't had any for ages.

EggyPegg · 27/01/2021 06:29

Also, @Frownette. 65p for an email. I thought the point of email was that it was free?! Who is collecting this charge?

HelenaJustina · 27/01/2021 06:37

I’m tired already. Woke up at 4am after a very disturbing dream in which I was an assassin and not a sexy Villanelle style one

Working on staff rotas this morning and I’m going to suggest that there is one morning next week where I don’t have to be in at 7.45am. This has been my start time since Jan, and no other member of SLT has had to do the same.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/01/2021 06:56

Good morning
late to start the day, but I am on flexitime and most people in my office are wfh anyway.
Dry here and it is light-ish already.

N0ManJan · 27/01/2021 07:06

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining. I couldn’t find any nappies in the right size for my DS yesterday so I’m going to the Big Tesco this morning.

Frownette · 27/01/2021 08:39

Hi @N0ManJan, it's frustrating when you have to trek around various supermarkets to get what you want.

I myself am off to Lidl in a bit.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 27/01/2021 08:39

I've made a cup of milky coffee (I don't often drink coffee) and am looking out the window at boy cat trying to hump girl cat and her fighting him off. Thankfully both neutered so no worries there.

Frownette · 27/01/2021 08:58

Eggy thanks, I was just a bit taken aback by that and also can't see how to pay it. I assume it's a handling fee?

I may write instead! I'll have another go at it in a sec. More tea required first.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 27/01/2021 09:22

I think the charges for email is related to it goes to a central email and the admin has to print it off and it is checked for details and if approved is passed on then to the prisoners. Source - a friend whose husband is currently in prison

Frownette · 27/01/2021 09:30

You have to credit the account minimum £5! And they sell jail cards, it's like they're having a laugh. Well it's done now, email sent, hope it's approved.

@NotanotherboxofFrogs do you know what sort of things would get it stopped?

Spudlet · 27/01/2021 09:47

Big car had to go to the garage this morning, so we got a drive through coffee again on the way home, then popped to a shop in the next village to get a net of logs and blu-tac. Now standing having my coffee while DS sits in the car pretending to drive. They got my order right this time - last time they gave be caffeine and a shot of syrup and I couldn’t drink it 😕

Hoping that our wood order arrives soon as a net of logs won’t last all that long - although it’s warmer today so perhaps we won’t need a fire tonight? It’s such a cheerful thing to have though, so relaxing to watch.

Frownette · 27/01/2021 09:52

Oh I remember that Spudlet. Hope it's caffeine and syrup free this time round. They shouldn't really charge you, should they!

I'm off for my third cup of tea shortly, really cannot focus on study, I might resume on Friday. Doctors this afternoon then picking up scanner/printer from a friend who doesn't want it anymore.

Champagneforeveryone · 27/01/2021 10:33

There is no work for DH today so he's at home. On my rest days. Just being there Hmm

In fairness I'm very fond of him, but not that fond I enjoy my own company. He'll doubtless suggest we go on a dog walk together later

Silkiechickscat · 27/01/2021 10:52

DH has gone to work to do some experiments with his computer model until around lunchtime.

I've been attempting to do home learning with DS - he's now insisting on standing on stairs and stomping but listening so I have to shout everything and its really wearing my voice out. I got through 3 science lessons and 1 history lesson though.

School have got me to fill in a form for DD so will see if she can get a place for a day.

School are phoning me tomorrow. Doctors got back to me as I've had a clear scar on my back for over a year now and they said its actinic keratoses which they said can just be left.

Silkiechickscat · 27/01/2021 10:53

I only slept for another hour so hoping can sleep later. Dh seems to be back.

Nydj · 27/01/2021 11:13

Now that is inconsiderate Champagne - I don’t mind being around people as long as they leave me alone.
Lovely drawing,Spudlet - I have no suggestions but you could, if you are feeling brave, start a thread inviting suggestions from the greater mumsnet hive mind.

Thank you MissConduct for the new thread and I think you got the final post in the previous one so that’s always lovely.

I am working (sort of) and it is not exciting.

Squirrel26 · 27/01/2021 11:20

I am kind of working and kind of discussing with my friend via WhatsApp how we could become Instagram influencers. So far we’ve decided her 1 year old could be in charge of writing content. Might make another coffee.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 27/01/2021 11:39

Frownette, sorry it won't let me tag you for some reason.

www.gov.uk/staying-in-touch-with-someone-in-prison - might explain it better than I could, I'm going to guess that for your client you are in a kind of support role / working through legalise which could count as a legal service.

halfpasteleven · 27/01/2021 12:06

I'm glad your scar can be left @Silkiechickscat and I hope you get to catch up on some sleep later.

Was hoping to get out for a 30/45 minute walk here with DS and DD but it's raining so will wait and see what the afternoon/evening brings.
Nowhere we have to be except at home and I'm trying to be grateful for that.

Frownette · 27/01/2021 12:33

Thanks @NotanotherboxofFrogs. I'll use up my £5 email first (well, £4.35 now) and write as well. How does your friend mainly communicate?

I thought of the recent shower thread just now as I was washing before doctors, I can't understand how someone wouldn't use soap and feel clean.

Squirrel26 · 27/01/2021 12:40

Haha, I was thinking of that thread this morning while I was in the bath @Frownette. Like someone on there said, I don’t pay particular attention to scrubbing, eg, my shins, but there are certain bits that I make sure get properly soaped!

Frownette · 27/01/2021 13:22

@Squirrel26 I think it was such a novel concept washing without soap that it stays in your mind Grin

I'm willing my right eye to behave, I've just put mascara on and it feels irritated. I don't want my eyes to run and have streaks down my face for appt.

Champagneforeveryone · 27/01/2021 15:06

I have clipped DDog 2 1 and bathed them both. DDog 2 1 was exceptionally well behaved. DDog 3 2 with her morbid fear of missing out was insistent that she too should be bathed. It's rather like I imagine wrestling an eel into a bag would be Grin

In other news, DS recently sold a guitar stand on FB. We have just come across a FB post where the man who bought it is selling a guitar and the stand is in the background. We discussed for a good couple of minutes how nice it was that it was useful to someone and the merits of recycling / selling on etc. This is what lockdown has reduced us to.

We also need to buy a new water filter, but have opted to ration the excitement and do that tomorrow.

Frownette · 27/01/2021 15:10

Lidl has no love for me anymore :(

I went to the surgery, scuttled off to the supermarket then home and...I didn't win on my new scratchcard. O woe!

Sunbird24 · 27/01/2021 15:27

I bought a new bra from Sainsbury’s of all places. It’s got a zip front and is super comfortable so I may have to go back for more colours, plus it was only £9!
