Welcome @hollyandkit and @Mammaaof

@Spudlet, your dog is absolutely beautiful.

@MissConductUS, driving on the pavement sounds terrifying. Though I have seen similar in this country when there's been traffic or some sort of hold up in the road.

DH is on the phone to MIL. They're talking about our nieces haircut and DH was asking if SIL had done it. He has still not noticed mine. We're up to day 6. I wore it down for part of today too.

Nydj · 28/01/2021 21:09

I can’t believe he hasn’t noticed Eggy - are you sure he isn’t just winding you up by pretending not to notice?

Sunbird24 · 28/01/2021 21:20

Eggy could it be that he just hadn’t noticed it had grown in the first place? Don’t know if that’s better or worse though!

halfpasteleven · 28/01/2021 21:25

@EggyPegg I was wondering about your haircut today.. and I was coming on to ask if your DH had noticed....Any day now surely!!!

Made more granola today. That's it. That's how dull today was that that is all I have to report.

halfpasteleven · 28/01/2021 21:26

@Spudlet your dog is adorable.

Champagneforeveryone · 28/01/2021 21:28

DH has an eye test tomorrow and we shall be instigating the purchase of the new Brita filter. Such excitement...

Mammaaof · 28/01/2021 21:28

Thank you, hoping this thread will lift my mood ☀️☀️

EggyPegg · 28/01/2021 21:47

Definitely not doing it to wind me up. It's not his style at all.
It was previously (when down) touching my lower back. Very long and wild (hence wearing it in braids regularly). When down now it's not even at my bra strap. It takes forever to grow. I haven't had it cut in about 3 years. 11 inches off!

Part of me wants to say something to see his reaction. The other part of me is finding it a great sport to see how long it takes him.

Wishing your DH luck with his eye test @Champagneforeveryone. I really need to sort mine.

Today I had an email from the head of the Scout group DS2 is part of, informing all parents that full subs of £35 for the term were now due. I had paid £17.50 of it as that's what I was asked to pay by the Beavers leader in her round robin reminder email. That took us up to half term. It's no bother and now I'm good until Easter, but I do wish they'd send out one clear message.

EggyPegg · 28/01/2021 21:49

@Mammaaof, it is the loveliest thread. You are most welcome.
To bring you up to speed with the current conversation as it began on the last thread; last Saturday I cut 11 inches off my own hair. We are still waiting for my DH to notice.

Sunbird24 · 28/01/2021 22:15

I’ve watched all of Bridgerton today. Very glad I didn’t watch it with my parents! Did make me sad I haven’t found anyone to love, marry or even just compromise my virtue with recently, but then I don’t think those empire line dresses would be terribly flattering on me

soddingkitten · 28/01/2021 22:19

Evening all.

It is wet windy here and the wind rattling down our chimney. We have a metal cowl on our chimney stack and earlier, when I was doing yoga, I could hear the rain pattering on the cowl. It is a rather pleasant sound.

Sodding graced DH with a proper cuddle while I was doing yoga. He seems less sassy and more kittenish today.

mamaduckbone · 28/01/2021 22:19

I would love to join this thread if I may - I think I posted on the very first one.

Ds1 and I had toasted tuna melt wraps for lunch today, with some leftover hummus and carrot sticks. It was very pleasant to eat with him. He shared some pearls of wisdom about the Weimar Republic at the same time, which he is learning about in history.

soddingkitten · 28/01/2021 22:24

Sickening! DH is doubly blessed. Sodding has gone to sit on him for another cuddle. Where are my cuddles? When I got home from work late no one had fed him, and yet I’m not getting the love. 🤷

Champagneforeveryone · 28/01/2021 22:25

bless you and your uncompromised virtue sunbird Grin

eggy DH had a detached retina a few years ago. Initial surgery failed and I got to the stage where I felt that one more mention of "my eye" could have tipped me into contemplating a quick and quiet death (for him!) Eye tests always make me fairly anxious as a result Grin

MissConductUS · 28/01/2021 22:32

Welcome back, @mamaduckbone. I was not on the first few threads. I have somehow assumed the mantle of the host here.

Eggy, perhaps he has noticed but is afraid to mention it, not knowing if you are pleased with the new length. Or perhaps he liked it longer and doesn't think it wise to share that opinion with you.

Or perhaps he's just completely oblivious about it. Grin

EggyPegg · 28/01/2021 23:36

Well in that case @Champagneforeveryone, I shall extend my wishings of luck to you instead.

@MissConductUS, he's pretty open about liking it long, but that means anything from shoulder down really. I'm going with oblivious.

I'm pinned to the sofa by EggyCat1. I tried to move her so that I could go to bed and she shouted at me.

Silkiechickscat · 28/01/2021 23:58

I've just booked the lighthouse at Lundy for 2 nights in May half term, think there's a 99% chance that will be cancelled but its when the puffins are there. It was available for 4 nights but as it will be cancelled didn't want to risk that and also there's no wifi and that is a very serious matter for DD and DS.

DS loves stairs so will love a lighthouse tower. Though as it almost certainly won't happen I've not told him.

Sunbird24 · 29/01/2021 00:04

Gratuitous pics of one of my fostercats from , who always had to have at least one paw in contact at all times.

Aww the paw in contact is very cute Sunbird

Silkiechickscat · 29/01/2021 00:31

Oops just realised when I booked for isn't May half term Blush

Silkiechickscat · 29/01/2021 02:07

Oh gosh - Silkiecat just woke up and did 2 superloud howls and woke up DS, she then went over to DS and howled in his ear. He's supposed to have exams tomorrow.

HelenaJustina · 29/01/2021 06:42

I’m so tired, thank God it is Friday! Had a very long stupid day yesterday. It was suggested that I come into work later this morning - when I said ‘yes please, you’ll need to do x, y and x before 9am to replace me’ there was hmmmming and sighing. So sounds like I’m off in nice and early again!

Gin tonight!

Frownette · 29/01/2021 06:48

What a beautiful cat Sunbird24, they were rehomed successfully?

I've just woken up and got a cup of tea. Med results this morning. SOOO behind on study after a hectic week, I'll get organised today and start again tomorrow.

Frownette · 29/01/2021 06:52

Spudlet looks like dog got tired by proxy just watching you exercise Grin
