Confused

Me and DH are freaking out a bit. At about 10pm we heard the letterbox go while we were watching TV but didn't immediately check it. We've just got up to head to bed and it's a tiny little ziplock bag (like 50p sized tiny) with white lumpy powder in it Hmm

We're going to have to call 111 in the morning arent we? Really freaked and going to struggle to sleep now!

What the actual fuck Confused

I wonder if the Police are asked to confiscate a wide range of powdered milks, and if they put them in their tea down at the station.

@ShirleyPhallus

Oh god this thread is premium mumsnet. Lots of terrible advice, pearl clutching, sweeping accusations about all sorts of people. Excellent.
It's a great read though! It does seem a few people believe it to be a young persons drug, the majority I know who do it are estate agents in their 30sGrin Glad you could sleep OP
PhilCornwall1 · 24/01/2021 08:22

Nice to know drug dealers offer contact-free delivery, taking the pandemic seriously I see! enjoy your night OP

Surprised they aren't doing a DPD job and asking to photograph the package on your doormat as proof of delivery.

Redrivershore · 24/01/2021 08:24

Yep, a good old MN mystery thread that has it all.

bookgirl1982 · 24/01/2021 08:24

Intrigued by the payment arrangements involved in this deal, would have expected cash only!

glassecase · 24/01/2021 08:29

Bitcoin probs

Goodbye2020Hello2021 · 24/01/2021 08:31

glassescase 'This sort of behaviour'?
It's a bit of drugs. Much like the alcohol so many happily chug down

One is illegal the other is not.
Although I agree in principle. People forget that that alcohol is a drug.

Goodbye2020Hello2021 · 24/01/2021 08:32

Tell me you’re joking?!

And as the OP has said, her 6-year-old DC would have probably picked it up if OP hadn't heard it come through the letterbox.

Sounds ridiculous that’s why.

No snobbery I’m not wanting illegal drugs pushed through your door.

Lovemusic33 · 24/01/2021 08:47

Great thread and some great responses.

I would keep hold of it for a few hours and see if anyone comes back for it, I doubt they will. If they don’t then either call 111 or wash it down the sink.

It’s very unlikely someone’s going to come looking for it if it’s just a small amount, it’s their fuck up and they risk being identified if they come back asking for it.

scentedgeranium · 24/01/2021 08:48

All you lot saying the OP is naive! I must be naive because I honestly wouldn't know what to do. I wouldn't leave it back on the doorstep though. It would be a big deal for me to think one of my neighbours may have ordered it. I mean it might not 'just' be cocaine.
I'd either flush it and hope no one knocks. or simply report on 101 and tell them that's what you're doing.
Poor you, OP - you didn't ask to have this stress, sitting innocently in your house of a saturday evening!

Frownette · 24/01/2021 08:49

@glassecase I think it's just that OP could potentially get into trouble due to the nature of it.

Yes alcohol can be awful at times.

Call 111? You hoping that a Doctor is going to investigate this crime of the century.
Parkermumma07 · 24/01/2021 08:52

If you keep hold of it and someone comes and asks for it and you give it them then you have supplied them with drugs..
I am currently studying for my detectives exam so i know this is the case.
I would ring 101 as soon as you can or take it to your local police station.

user1471538283 · 24/01/2021 08:54

I would telephone 101 just in case. The dealer wont be back for such a small amount.

Years ago my lovely elderly neighbour was delivered a massive box of it! All in little bags. She didn't know what it was or what to do so her son told her to ring the police. She did and they took it away. The dealer never showed up for a massive box so would not for one bag.

And why's that?

I'm just thinking of Silk Road etc, they all used Bitcoin.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 24/01/2021 08:58

A new government incentive for people to stay home ? Grin

Yeh, dealers importing & trading with each other maybe but not for a customer on a housing estate who wants a minuscule bag of coke.
