Confused

Me and DH are freaking out a bit. At about 10pm we heard the letterbox go while we were watching TV but didn't immediately check it. We've just got up to head to bed and it's a tiny little ziplock bag (like 50p sized tiny) with white lumpy powder in it Hmm

We're going to have to call 111 in the morning arent we? Really freaked and going to struggle to sleep now!

What the actual fuck Confused

Call 101 now to report
What if a child picked it up?

I found the amount of posters that thought the dealer would come back for it hilarious.

"Hello, did you try our free sample we put through the door? We offer a completely cash free, secure delivery to your door at competitive prices. We have a range of different offerings for all tastes.
We can take regular orders and cater for parties..."

LoobyLoo515 · 26/01/2021 00:07

OP, I'm new to MN and find the fact that many people randomly post without reading any of the previous comments quite ridiculous. And that it happens on so many threads. What's the point though, they just make themselves look daft for not reading properly. It puts you off reading when you see multiple pages and pages with repeated comments which no longer have relevance when posted. I'd just give up on updating and watch it keep on spiralling with all the crazy comments. I'm glad you did what YOU thought was the right thing to do!!

Usernamerequired · 26/01/2021 00:09

‘Dial-A-Deal’ used to be a very common thing. I guess Deliveroo are taking on a new client base.
Personally i would have freaked out incase some random person rocks up during the night looking it back. Phoning the police was certainly a good move

Torvean32 · 26/01/2021 00:26

Why would they knock on the door if they dont know you? You could work for a branch of the police.

Might be worth a door step cam , so you can catch anybody if they do it again.

You underestimate people desperate for a fix.

I’m always taken aback by the number of people for whom it’s ‘just a bit of (whatever) drug’ on any MN drugs thread. Yeah, yeah it’s hilarious fun for you and you are doing just fine managing your recreational drug use alongside your job and your family. And you don’t think it’s a big deal that it’s illegal, or you think it’s wrong to criminalise your lifestyle choice. But you do know that children are exploited as dealers / dealers’ runners, right? Poor kids who think they have no other options, affluent kids who ... actually christ knows why. And vulnerable addicts who are not managing their habit at all well are exploited by dealers taking over their home to use as a base. And by the way if you’re dealing on the street you’d better have a knife hadn’t you to protect yourself -er what could possibly go wrong?

So when you ring your friendly dealer for your just a bit of whatever, that’s what you’re buying into and perpetuating. What a marvellous bit of jolly fun for you.

Sorry OP to moralise at people on your thread.

This happened to me and they did come and ask for it back! Well actually to my friend who was house sitting while we were on holiday. A little bag of coke and weed was posted through the door. Friend picked it up and was like 'oh, that's a surprise, I didn't think they did that these days!'. A few hours later someone knocked asking for their package back. Apparently they were super polite about it and said they lived on our road and "know the owners". I'm pretty sure it was some lads who live about ten doors down but they definitely don't know us! No mention of (or apology for) or clearly being drugs!

Ajl46 · 26/01/2021 04:12

@StopCryingYourHeartOut

Blimey it's just a little bag of drugs put through the wrong door, any need for the drama really. Just put it to one side and go to bed Confused
  1. It is dangerous 2. It is illegal 3. It could be county lines related.
Certainly sufficient reasons to be worried & need advice.
garlictwist · 26/01/2021 05:27

This happened to me. I tasted it and think it was coke. I just chucked it in the bin and thought no more of it. No one came round for it.

Good job it wasn't anthrax then.
Localocal · 26/01/2021 08:09

Put it in a paper envelope and tape it to your door with the words "delivered here by accident" written on it. Then if someone comes they won't have to knock.

Familyshopper · 26/01/2021 08:09

Well what If they do ask for it back ? Just hand it over and shut the door
