Bought toddler DS some new waterproof dungarees. Good company.

Everytime he has worn them they have ridden up so we've ended up with wet legs and feet. We.comtacted the company who apologised and said in future they are going to put stirrups on them. They offered us a discount on a future purchase. DH and I disagree:

Person 1 - chalk it up to experience, they've done the best they can

Person 2 - they arent fit for purpose, they should be offering a replacement or a refund.

So - we agreed to put it to MN...

I’d request a refund as they’re not fit for purpose. Not sure I’d get it though.
If I didn’t I’d sew stirrups on myself

This, pretty much.

Person 1 - they won't ride up on everyone, but have taken onboard your feedback and offered a discount as goodwill.

Agreed. Sew your own stirrups.
Not sure how stirrups would stop feet getting wet, though.Confused Is he wearing wellies.

BaronessBomburst · 20/01/2021 15:31

(and I'd sew my own stirrups on)

Person two because if they sell products that don't actually work why would you go back

Hello fresh did this with me the food was rank and went out of date on the day of delivery so i cancelled and complained they said I could have 30% off my next three boxes as a courtesy but I had already cancelled my deliveries so what was the point?

bloodywhitecat · 20/01/2021 15:32

Because even my cheap Lidl ones that I bought for my 12 month old had stirrups.

fairydustandpixies · 20/01/2021 15:32

Take the discount and sew on stirrups.

Person 1, they've listened, taken feedback, explained how they will change the product and offered a discount.

They won't ride up on all children, I'd also put some stirrups in too.

Goingtothebudgies · 20/01/2021 15:34

Use elastic garters to keep the trousers down. Or socks. Life is too short to make a big issue out of this kind of thing.

Squeejit · 20/01/2021 15:35

Person 1. In the meantime, tuck them into his wellies.

OhToBeASeahorse · 20/01/2021 15:36

How would socks help?!

Intersting so far, I will need to keep a tally!

Person 1

At least some element of this will be that they don't fit him that well, surely.

Chalk it up to experience and see stirrups if you want

Your supposed to tuck the trousers into the socks then put on the wellie but if they are stiff waterproof trousers designed to go over then it will be uncomfortable and they need stirrups
OhToBeASeahorse · 20/01/2021 15:41

These were elasticated round the ankle - definitely designed to go outside the wellies

2 would be nice but 1 isn’t completely unreasonable

WhatKatyDidNxt · 20/01/2021 15:42

Person 2 is correct

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 20/01/2021 15:43

you don't put waterproofs inside boots...the water runs down inside and gives you wet socks, feet and wellies full of rain.

daisyjgrey · 20/01/2021 15:43

Person 1, and sew stirrups on.
