Bought toddler DS some new waterproof dungarees. Good company.

Everytime he has worn them they have ridden up so we've ended up with wet legs and feet. We.comtacted the company who apologised and said in future they are going to put stirrups on them. They offered us a discount on a future purchase. DH and I disagree:

Person 1 - chalk it up to experience, they've done the best they can

Person 2 - they arent fit for purpose, they should be offering a replacement or a refund.

So - we agreed to put it to MN...

@Enidblyton1I didnt 'fail to research' - the product details assured me that it would be waterproof. Jeez.

Sadly my Lidl is out of them - this is the problem, lockdown had meant the world and his wife are buying them.

I would be person 2 in this situation.

I would be person 2. I'd want to either return them for a full refund, or get a substantial discount to reflect the fact is have to alter them to make them useable. I'd also leave an honest review once I'd got my money back.

and, they are waterproof - I'm assuming, you'd have mentioned it before now if the water were coming through the material and his legs, pants or (if wearing trousers underneath, then his trousers) were getting wet. So the product is doing what it says it will. It hasn't advertised itself as a product that defies the laws of maths and doesn't need to lift a couple of inches from the ground when the person wearing them bends their knee. It is clearly a normal pair of waterproofs that keeps the rain off the areas it is covering.
Again, I still can't understand how trousers lifting up for the amount they lift when a child bends his knee, would then clear the top of his wellies. It doesn't make any sense to me.

OhToBeASeahorse · 21/01/2021 02:23

They are lifting up past his wellies

I’m with you op.
This would annoy me. As would their crap offer of a discount for another product.
If the original isn’t fit for purpose I’d just want my money back.

OhToBeASeahorse · 21/01/2021 09:03

An advert came on FB for them this morning and the 1st comment said the same as me so this isn't an issue of poor fit

@Idontgiveagriffindamn

I’d request a refund as they’re not fit for purpose. Not sure I’d get it though. If I didn’t I’d sew stirrups on myself

Person 1.
And if hand sew some on.

Stirrups are annoying to deal with when muddy. But they do the job.
