The latest corporate bullshit term I've noticed starting to increase

A year ago people used to want meeting 'minutes' or 'notes' .
As of about six months ago I started to hear the term 'meeting read out' and it's on the increase.

But 'meeting' appears to be on its way out in some circles. Now it's a 'meet'. (And this was before Google meets started to be a thing). We have residents' meets, etc. in my flats. Run by a young, very try hard housing assistant who does absolutely nothing useful. Always sounds wrong to me.

A read out is a Civil Service term. Definitely been around for at least ten years.

Yes I keep noticing presser on here. Really hate it.ah now technically I am civil service but fairly new ish to it. So it must have filtered in.

But I think presser is commonly used by people who work in press and media.

In my company, a read out is when you have a meeting then you have another meeting to tell other people about it

It's been said a while in my civil service dept though it was the first time I'd heard the term until I'd started there.

I work in the press and media and said to DH only today “when did we start calling them pressers?!” He also is a journalist and said journalists have been calling them that for ages, but I have been going to press conferences since 1997 and never heard them called pressers! To be fair the press conferences I go to are pretty boring.

The people I see using 'presser' on here are the ones who want people to think they're really in the know about what's going on. It feels pretentious to me.

I’m Civil Service and at our place it’s all “sighted” - eg has Rob been sighted on the paper to go to Board, or “in this space” - used instead of talking about a topic, so, we need to bring Steph into this space to look at the Comms aspect. Ugh - such wanky talk.
