Is it in a nice part of Hull?

handsforfeet · 14/01/2021 19:06

That is amazing. Why is it so cheap? Thought hull was gentrifying?

Fabpinky · 14/01/2021 19:06

I love it! I like how there is no second initial cushion just A & blank. Reminds me of when my ex took his initial cushion when he moved out

GhostPepperTears · 14/01/2021 19:07

Ha! My first semi-serious boyfriend lived on Spring Bank - further towards the rubbishy end, though Grin

Pumpertrumper · 14/01/2021 19:07

Follow up question... is there a nice part of Hull? Grin

(I grew up very close to Hull so say that with a smile)

MonkeyPuddle · 14/01/2021 19:08

You don’t wanna live on Spring Bank West. It’s a main artery into the city and frankly a bit of a shit hole. I’m from Hull.

EachandEveryone · 14/01/2021 19:09

Hull is great if you have family there and a decent job, your money really does go far. Imagine the parties you could have? The town centre is dire but the old town is lovely, as is the marina.

I don't understand how is it so cheap? Is work & materials much cheaper? What does a fixer upper cost?

RetailGail · 14/01/2021 19:11

the panelling and downstairs flooring would have to go!!

and those topiary balls. other than that i love it

EssentiallyDelighted · 14/01/2021 19:18

The decor is generally hideous and I'd want to restore the back garden back to being an actual garden. Front exterior is nice though.

EachandEveryone · 14/01/2021 19:19

If i had double I love the size of this www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/81747859#/

HermioneWeasley · 14/01/2021 19:21

That’s a bargain

MonkeyPuddle · 14/01/2021 19:21

Full of HMO’s, notorious halfway house down on Princes Ave. I lived on Newland Avenue, round the corner, for 10 years. You couldn’t pay me to move back to HU5.

Newland is full of students though. It has got thriving local shops and cafes. Newland Park however is lovely.

Cherrysoup · 14/01/2021 19:25

I mean, it’s cheap, but the kitchen is horrible, as is the weird panelling and the garden is a sterile adult only space, you couldn’t have a dog, either.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/01/2021 19:27

The hall floor in the second one is lovely.

Girlyracer · 14/01/2021 19:27

They look to have spent a lot of time and effort for what will be little, if any financial gain.

If it's a bad postcode, no way. No amount of indoor comfort can diminish the impact of external chaos.

peak2021 · 14/01/2021 19:27

If I lived in Hull I would move away as soon as possible. For years they elected John Prescott as MP and it seems that anyone living there is being punished severely.

MonkeyPuddle · 14/01/2021 19:27

Not all of Newland is full of students. If I had £150K I’d much rather have a smaller house in Hessle/anlaby

Cherrysoup · 14/01/2021 19:28

The second one is nice, looks like a home as opposed to a plastic model house. Don’t like terraces, tho. Surely in Hull you can get something pretty lovely for £300K?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/01/2021 19:29

Somebody asked how much a doer upper would be. £25k apparently.

EachandEveryone · 14/01/2021 19:30

I like Inglemire that way but i guess thats the area where my family is.

GeoffreyGeoffreys · 14/01/2021 19:31

Spring Bank isn't a nice place to live, hence the price.
