What boring shit have you been excited about in lockdown?

I have a sinus infection and have antibiotics for it. I always get thrush despite trying probiotics and yakault. Anyway so I'm going to have to go out to buy a thrush treatment.

I'm just thinking to myself I'm actually excited to leave the house and buy a thrush treatment. Just wondering what really sad stuff other people have got excited about in lockdown which might otherwise be mundane.

Do you think we will be totally exhausted from meeting people and going to more than one shop per week when we will be back to “normal “?

New Lidl opened up

Popped to Aldi this afternoon, when I was queuing at the till the cashier pipes up with what I thought was 'clothes off now kelly' realised he was telling Kelly to close her till. I had a giggle anyway 😊

DD(4) was ridiculously excited about Amazon bringing new Maths books today at 0730 this morning. I have a kettle coming. We might share reciprocal feelings on the other's excitement. DH is taking the 5th.

I'm excited that the oldish leftovers I risked eating yesterday appear to have been safe to eat.

I have ordered a jigsaw on Amazon today and one of those jigsaw roll up mats. So excited to have a new jigsaw! I ordered two books on Amazon last week and was so thrilled to have a delivery I was searching Amazon to find something else I needed!

We've had snow. A lot of snow. It's actually our third lot this winter. And we can just enjoy it. No worries about school, or work (DH has to go to work, but it's walking).

As long as no delivery vans get stuck

There were tree surgeons working outside the house last week (I’m home with 3yo DD). That was a brilliant morning’s entertainment. At some point they looked over and saw me, DH and DD all standing at the window, both adults holding a coffee.

Earlier last year the tree surgeon was big news around here! A team was trimming a really tall one on the green and several family groups were standing or sitting around as it was the closest thing to cinema or theatre in a long time!

I have my smear test tomorrow and the dentist on Tuesday, I don't think I'll sleep tonight

It's not really boring but tomorrow I am going on a socially-distanced guided tour of part of the city where I live and the guide is excellent. First "social" event I have had in months!

I have an old “transistorised” record player, with auto change, in perfect working order. I have got it out and enjoyed the pleasure of playing some old records. iPods just aren’t the same....

Cat's flea tablet successfully administered at 8:30am this morning.

30 day countdown to next tablet has started & the calendar is marked. 30 sleeps!

Ordering bulbs and planting them in jars and stuff indoors. Watching them intently for any signs of growth.

A deli has opened regularly and the samosas are actually heaven. Think I've got a bit obsessed with them.

I’ve tidied and cleaned my bathroom cabinet. It’s now cabinet porn worthy.
Everything is orderly and in separate boxes organised to type.
I want to do the whole house now

I have rearranged my kitchen cupboards and can actually see what’s in them now.
I mixed some vinegar in with my usual cleaning fluid , cleaned the windows and can see out of them with no smears.

I realised I had a Sainsbury's voucher in my purse so I went there and bought a lovely Sherpa blanket to snuggle under while watching TV. Happy days!

I had my contact lens check and I got to chat to the optician about watching telly and shizz.

I found a box of miniature heroes I hid at Christmas..

Descaled my kettle. And the Nespresso. Made a mental note to buy more malt vinegar. Exciting times.

Big news in our house yesterday, the oven has broken. We're on tenterhooks to find out what day the repair man will be over. We might even need a new oven! The best part is that we rent the place so won't even have to fork out for this entertainment.

I have some new boots being delivered before 8.55am. Of course I’m excited they are arriving early but disappointed the days excitement will peak so soon. What will I do now?
