Good Morning all Dict8 ladies

@curlyris: I have a laptop but I use a separate keyboard plugged into the laptop as I find laptop keyboard's too small and close to the screen to work on (fiddly).

Chrissols · 27/01/2021 11:51

@flutterby18 thanks for that, think that's where I will move my account to, will make life easier by far, £1000 is about my limit with Dict8 even in good times

I had a reasonable day yesterday. Logged on late this morning and not seen anything yet.

Chrissols · 27/01/2021 12:01

@danblack87 I have had one task this morning, off to hospital appointment this afternoon (200 miles round trip) so not a very lucrative day for me. Hope it picks up for you this afternoon 😊

flutterby18 · 27/01/2021 12:01

@Chrissols - you're very welcome Smile

danblack87 · 27/01/2021 13:07

My laptop is on the windowsill in my spare room and my keyboard is on the desk. Helps with my arthritic thumbs, trigger middle finger and painful right shoulder Hmm. I don't use a foot pedal or earphones. I pay my cheques in at the post office - they send off the envelopes, no postage and I am usually paid within around 4 days into Barclays.

danblack87 · 27/01/2021 13:08

@Chrissols: Good Luck with your hospital trip - tiring though it sounds Daffodil.

Chrissols · 28/01/2021 10:09

@danblack87 Thank you. Was a long afternoon, 10.00pm by the time I got home, considering it's lock-down the traffic was pretty horrendous. Just got to wait for date of op now, so I'm guessing that won't be any time soon, which is fine by me. Was it a busy afternoon yesterday? I've had one short task so far today

OP posts:
danblack87 · 28/01/2021 10:16

It was not busy for me at all yesterday LOL - I have seen tasks today but I haven't typed any of them Sad ... awful.

Chrissols · 28/01/2021 10:57

@danblack87 bit like that with me, there are tasks showing, but terrible dictation......

OP posts:
Chrissols · 28/01/2021 17:38

How's everyone's day been?

OP posts:
Meha5 · 28/01/2021 18:40

Not a bad day for me

Gally123 · 28/01/2021 18:42

@Chrissols - well I have spent the afternoon at my local A&E (due to be closed down but luckily still open) with chest and left arm pains, had for a few days, put down to a panic attack as all tests came back normal. Unlike you, I was able to get the bus there and back, took about 25 mins. Also lucky that it was not too busy when I arrived about 2.30pm but quite packed when I left at 5.45pm.

Hopefully a better day tomorrow as I have not enjoyed this week.

Chrissols · 28/01/2021 18:58

@Gally123 oh my gosh, how scary for you, a very nerve racking going by bus feeling like that. Really pleased to hear your tests were normal but do take care 🛏🛏

OP posts:
Gally123 · 28/01/2021 19:06

@Chrissols - it was only nerve racking in thinking I might get there only to be turned away because it had closed or due to COVID restrictions, ie I had heard that they might make A&E appointments only and I had tried to phone 111 but could not get through so decided to risk it. Had a similar problem about 10 years ago (when working in that hospital, which was a bit embarrassing) but it settled in a few hours and did not last several days. Glad it is Friday tomorrow, although work wise the end of the month has come too soon, my invoices are going to be low again.

Chrissols · 28/01/2021 19:50

@Gally123 yes, this is my lowest invoice so far for Dict8, very grim. Did the hospital say to keep an eye on things?

OP posts:
danblack87 · 28/01/2021 22:22

My invoice will be low too.

Gally123 · 29/01/2021 08:19

@Chrissols - the nurse just said to try not to worry about things too much, although she realised at times like these it is not easy. (work issues, other health issues, lockdown etc).

Meha5 · 29/01/2021 12:04

@Gally123 - hope your feeling better x

Gally123 · 29/01/2021 12:19

@Meha5 - thanks. I am glad I got checked out, I had delayed due to COVID and not wanting to go into a hospital setting.

I am just wondering if I had inadvertently eaten something containing soya as only recently discovered/developed a soya allergy; after being diagnosed with Coeliac disease last year and then lactose intolerance it seems that I now have sensitivities to many things, as I did not think I have been particularly more stressed that usual. Just need to be careful and keep checking all those food labels!

danblack87 · 29/01/2021 13:26

@Gally123: Hope you are starting to feel a bit better Flowers.

Gally123 · 29/01/2021 13:34

@danblack87 thanks. Not too bad today, it helps getting checked out and having answers.

Poppy379 · 29/01/2021 14:08

@Gally123 I wouldn't fancy having to go anywhere by bus at the moment, especially knowing I was heading to A&E. Sounds awful. I can understand you not wanting to go, given the COVID situation - I'm sure I would have put it off for as long as possible too, had it been me. I hope you are feeling better today - at least you now know what it wasn't and, as you say, you can start looking into other possible causes.

Gally123 · 29/01/2021 14:13

@Poppy379 actually the buses were very quiet, only about three or four other people on the journey both going and coming home.

I think I am going to ask my GP for allergy tests just to be sure.

However, I would advise anyone feeling ill not to delay but if you do go to A&E go early in the day, it was very quiet when I arrived just before 3pm - the triage nurse called me in when I was still booking in at the desk! But it was packed when I left just before 6pm.

Chrissols · 29/01/2021 14:34

@Gally123 I went for an MRI on Wednesday and the hospital was really quite, the roads on the other hand were so busy
