I've never eaten beetroot, cauliflower or pickled eggs.

What everyday food have you never eaten ?

Fresh apricots should be tried imo.but not supermarket bland ones and let them get properly ripe!

nyenc · 11/01/2021 20:57

Never had artichoke, really want to try it

princesspeppax · 11/01/2021 20:58

Tuna/prawns or any sort of other seafood, sparkling water, peanut butter, kebab.

WouldstrokeTomHardy · 11/01/2021 21:06

Subway
Tripe
Pickled egg

Not sure why not the pickled egg as love eggs and pickles.

I don't understand how some posters have lived without eating an egg. A bog standard egg.

One of my highlights is a Saturday morning fried egg sandwich with brown sauce and a strong cup of tea. Luxurious.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 11/01/2021 21:35

Macaroni and cheeses.

MartiniDry · 11/01/2021 22:04

Tuna

Also: Winkles
Shrimps
Lobster
Prawns
Crab.
This makes me the black sheep because my family doesn't consider it high tea unless there's shellfish. Celebration meals out involved more of the same. I swear they must have kept Sheeky's in business for years!

Shellfish? Ugh, slippery slimy stuff. I'll stick to being the black sheep.

deste · 11/01/2021 22:15

Marmite.

Animum2 · 11/01/2021 22:33

All fish and seafood. Kebabs though dh loves them

ThanksItHasPockets · 11/01/2021 23:30

Most of these are not everyday!

I don’t think there’s an everyday food I haven’t tried. I only had faggots for the first time fairly recently, which I suppose are everyday but very regional. They were delicious.

35andThriving · 14/01/2021 21:07

I didn't try cheesecake until I was 18. I love it now. Smile

LizFlowers · 14/01/2021 21:11

I've never eaten shell fish or crustaceans and neither would I.

Mamascoven · 14/01/2021 21:15

Never tried duck

Maddiemademe · 14/01/2021 21:17

Raw tomatoes
Olives
Prawns
Sweet corn or corn on the cob
Beetroot
Avocado
Dark Chocolate
Raw Carrot
Oysters
Lobster
Any Hot Sauce
Marmalade
Anchovies
Risotto

I swear I do have a varied diet believe it or not.

LizFlowers · 14/01/2021 22:31

CherryBlossomTree7 · 14/01/2021 22:47

minipie · 14/01/2021 23:50

@CherryBlossomTree7

Duck, steak, black pudding, fried bread
Oh these are some of my favourite foods
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/01/2021 23:58

Durians are usually banned from hotel rooms in SE Asia because of the stink.

When driving through Malaysia ages ago dh and I would hastily wind up the car windows if we saw a durian stall ahead (no standard aircon then) because of the stink. They do literally smell like sick.

A Vietnamese friend assures me that they’re delicious to eat, though.

UnderTheAurora · 15/01/2021 10:39

They're lovely to eat, it's just hard getting your head round eating something that smells so awful.

speakout · 15/01/2021 13:58

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER

Also banned on the subway in Singapore.
They are a huge delicacy to some I know, but to me they taste gross.
