Do you have any secrets that could ruin someone's life?

Just something I've been thinking about. A few years ago in my mid 20s I was friends with a much older man at work, who I saw as a fatherly /grandfather figure. I was going through a rough time with my mental health, plus bereavements and I had no friends or family support. He was there for me and I used him as a confidant and shoulder to cry on, so to speak.

I was naive and really did think saw me in a similar way - like a daughter or niece or something. I was also emotionally all over the place so I didn't see the signs, which looking back were there. One day in his car he held me against the seat and kissed me on my mouth, and put his hands up my thigh, and up the back of my top. I was so stunned and tried to move back but he wouldn't let me move and kept moving my head back. Fortunately it didn't go any further than that. He then told me he was in love with me and never felt like that about anyone.

I didn't tell anyone because I think people would have thought I led him on as I put myself in that situation. I never met him alone again, and he turned quite nasty towards me as well as tried to manipulate me. He has a wife who obviously hasn't a clue. It would bring her world crashing down if she knew and I'm sure if she did, she would blame me as I know she was besotted with him. It will be a secret I take to the grave as I'm so ashamed about it and how dumb I have been.

I'm puzzled who this celeb is aswell. My secret is similar to ops although not older but the same age and was my boss. I was put in a situation which was extremely uncomfortable.

My ExBIL had an affair and left my DSIS and their DC for a woman who was almost the twin of my DSIS, he told my DSIS the night before marrying the OW that he regretted it and if she would have him back he would call of the wedding, she didnt take him back and his wife knows nothing of that conversation on the eve of their wedding day.

Quite a few secrets re children not being their "fathers" child...and a married Roman Catholic woman I know who's sleeping with the RC parish priest and thinks shes the only one but he's a serial shagger who is also sleeping with two much older widows , I reckon with an eye on their estates in years to come if not 'gifts ' now .

Yes, regarding affairs, possible paternity of a child, a report to Social Services and a relationship that the rest of the family would definitely not approve of.

I'd like to tell my ex husbands partner of a few years that he likes to meet with men in lay-bys. And regular uses online sex sites.

I feel morally obligated to warn her but I can't of course. She's lovely doesn't deserve the inevitable cheating and emotional abuse.

Yes. A "friend" slagging off a mlm type diet, and the woman in charge of it in our town. Dozens of texts saying how dangerous it is and how the leader didn't use it to lose weight etc. Now she's started to sell it herself.

Yep. Know about someone's benefit fraud, when they earn over 100k a year. Know about their illicit activities and dealings. Know about their affairs. Know about all the two faced spiel they give when someone's there compared to when they're not there.

Yes I do Has amazed me how un-careful some men can be in terms of sharing personal info that means they/their wives can be easily found on social media. They are totally relying on the fact I’m not a psycho/bunny boiler/stalker/blackmailer! Don’t know that info I have would completely ruin lives but it would certainly cause a lot of upset and hurt to people. They really are very stupid.
I completely agree! It staggers me how naive some of them are.

The wife of a very famous British actor has a Twitter account under a fake name that she uses to obsessively monitor everything that's said about her husband online. If anyone even tangentially connected to him tweets something she doesn't approve of (not gossip or anything negative, literally like the official Twitter account for the film her husband is shooting tweeting behind the scenes photos of him, or BBC1 radio technicians tweeting they're excited to meet him) she'll phone up and scream at them and demand they're fired for not getting her permission first.

When they first married she was given a hard time by a small group of nutters who really hated her, so she pretended to be one of them (i.e. pretended she hated... herself) in order to gain access to their private groups and locked social media accounts. Her profile picture is an orangutan.

Well...... that was a secret 🤣

Many secrets. I always somehow know stuff and people tell me a lot of things that I really don’t want to know.

I've worked out who it is, but before the 'subtle' clues, I would have said Cumberbatch's wife tbh.

I do know other people's secrets, and I won't share them. I'd never tell my secrets though, I don't trust anyone to that degree.
