I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

It’s only 0 degrees here this morning but with rain forecast from mid morning. Dry gate duty this morning but wet this afternoon (my forecast analysis has a particular slant!)

soddingkitten · 26/01/2021 06:49

@NotanotherboxofFrogs

Love all the cat pictures.

Sodding seems to be around the same age as my two, I think. They were born at the end of March 20 and came to me at the end of May.

Yes, Sodding has a late March birthday. I’m hoping some sense kicks in soon. He’s highly inquisitive and is now strong enough to get to high places, but doesn’t think it through. It’s like the human toddler stage but with feline teen cattitude. If he doesn’t break something major between now and his birthday it will be a miracle.
Deathraystare · 26/01/2021 09:09

Loving all the cat pics! I often trundle along to the Litter Tray on Mumsnet to get a fix!

Well I had the first jab yesterday and survived. Slight ache in arm but that soon went.

I have been a bit bad with food and having to throw some stuff out. But I plan to have salmon tonight with some broccoli. Have to be frozen as the fresh stuff is in the bin!

Frownette · 26/01/2021 09:52

@Deathraystare are you doing it in a sauce? I was eyeing up a creamy salmon broccoli lasagne earlier.

An advert on MN is Yumbles, their stuff looks delicious, it was on there.

Champagneforeveryone · 26/01/2021 12:48

I have booked the car in for it's MOT - it was quite a novelty to take the calendar down and write something on it Grin

MissConductUS · 26/01/2021 13:03

Good morning lovely people of the thread. I'm heading out shortly for a medical appointment and will be out of touch for two or three hours, so rather than risk this thread filling up with nowhere to go, I've started the next one:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4147303-Come-and-tell-me-your-dull-and-unexciting-news-11-Calmly-through-the-day?

In other news, we are still expecting Math's snowstorm to arrive, but it's running late and won't be here until noonish.

Oh this thread's nearly full? I hadn't noticed (not channelling Four Weddings & a Funeral).

It's mild here and a bit damp, I've done lots of paperwork but cannot focus on study.

EggyPegg · 26/01/2021 13:18

Thanks for the link @MissConductUS. I had been keeping an eye on the count. O can't believe that we're almost up to 10,000 messages. Let's let that sink in for a moment. TEN THOUSAND.

I've just got home from work and DH has put jackets in the oven for me.

halfpasteleven · 26/01/2021 13:38

1,000 no @EggyPegg ?!

I'm loving how fast these threads fill up and how interested overly invested I now am in all of your lives Smile

Sunbird24 · 26/01/2021 13:41

It’s all grey and dull outside, and I should probably get out and go to the supermarket...

MissConductUS · 26/01/2021 14:00

@halfpasteleven it's 10000 because this is the 10th thread.

I'm waiting at the clinic.

*@MissConductUS
No! It is only for me so I shall steam the salmon and broccoli. Healthy, yeah? Too knackered to do much else as very short staffed due to covid. Two receptionists off, plus another one who had the jab complaining of aches and pains.

EggyPegg · 26/01/2021 14:57

Exactly @MissConductUS.

Hope you're in now and they didn't keep you waiting too long.

I too am overly invested @halfpasteleven

I am sat with my feet up doing NOTHING whilst DH is on the school run. The house is blissfully silent. I have just spent a happy few minutes reading a Zombie thread that popped up in trending, about a ski chalet, bottles of champagne and a toyboy named Barry.

Nydj · 26/01/2021 17:14

There are a few more posts left on this thread

Nydj · 26/01/2021 17:16

I’ll do my bit by saying how clever of you, @Eggy to cut your own hair and I’m wondering if your husband has noticed yet

Nydj · 26/01/2021 17:16

I hope your appointment and treatment went smoothly, @MissConductUS

MissConductUS · 26/01/2021 17:32

They were fine, thanks @Nydj.

Thank you @Nydj.

No. He has not.

Silkiechickscat · 26/01/2021 18:01

Ds is still refusing to do work - he fell asleep after his grump at one point and was like when he was a toddler. I've just done his RE quiz. DD asked if school would let her go in at all, I said I doubt it but will ask again - she's struggling with no friends and a screaming brother and said she cried 4 times last week but would imagine most parents and kids did too.

Silkiechickscat · 26/01/2021 18:02

Will have pancakes and vegan pancakes for DD to try and cheer people up.

HelenaJustina · 26/01/2021 18:55

Had a brilliant virtual parents evening meeting with DC1’s tutor. She needs to give herself more credit but he described her as a superstar! Very proud of her and her resilience as it’s something she finds really tricky.

MissConductUS · 26/01/2021 19:06

More Zoom hell today.

OP posts:
EggyPegg · 26/01/2021 19:10

I had egg and chips for dinner. I did not have my post lunch nap but am seriously considering a post dinner one.

MissConductUS · 26/01/2021 19:11

Oh, and our super duper fiber optic internet connection went flaky is morning. DH was on hold with them for half an hour before giving up. Thankfully it seems to be working again.
