ivfbabymomma1 · 04/01/2021 23:34

Tattoo pain
Very milky tea
Pepsi over coke

Frolicinameadow · 04/01/2021 23:38

Being alone, I love it! I could happily live like the unabomber minus the bombs and manifesto stuff.
Dogs bounding toward me and jumping all over me
Cold weather
Sprouts, raw, cooked, whatever, love them.
Smoking cigars
My boss

BarelyFunctioning · 04/01/2021 23:40

Right - this has been quite tricky. So far I've come up with:

  • Making PowerPoint presentations
  • Gordon Brown when he was younger
  • Another one for aeroplane food (excitement akin to Christmas when your row is next to be served)
Grenlei · 04/01/2021 23:43

Thought of another one - caravans. Love them! Something about compact living that just appeals to me.

Pugliandreamer · 04/01/2021 23:49

@TheYearOfSmallThings

Oh, and the smell of a sugar beet processing factory (for nostalgic reasons).
Oh my gosh, that takes me right back to my grandparents who both passed when I was young. They lived near Bury St Edmunds and the smell of the SB factory was quite overwhelming at times. I didn't like it then but I'd do anything to smell it now!

My guilty pleasure is pasta and malt vinegar. Not even pregnant...

ADRIENNEthroughbloodshoteyes · 04/01/2021 23:56

Are they still around?
bumblingbovine49 · 05/01/2021 00:52

Work Meetings ( beats actual working Grin)
Giving presentations ( but not actually preparing them )
People dropping in to see me for a chat and a coffee
Other people's children ( more fun than your own sometimes as you don't feel guilty / responsible for sorting out any problems or misbehaviour. You just give them back and forget about it )
Roast dinner with no gravy on
Food that has been left to cool down to room temperature generally tastes better to me ( with a few exceptions like tea, coffee, chips etc)

Graphista · 05/01/2021 01:38

Pickled eggs from the chippy

Definitely on board with this!

@Nomnomarrgh you may be my only possible hope for agreement on this one too:

Pickled garlic eaten right out the jar!

I have to remind myself to rein it in as it has certain...laxative effects! but if it didn't I could easily polish off a whole jar myself

The smell of creosote

And socialism, not the New Labour faux-socialist kind, but proper 70s and 80s-style old-fashioned leftie socialism, the kind uninformed people think is communism but so isn't. yep me too - there's actually a few of us on mn

with the possible exception of bukkake and Priti Patel, certainly not at the same time agreed!

Coffee cream chocolates love them too

Dry, sunny, cold winter days

Teenagers. They drive me mad frequently but I like them. same here. Love talking to and generally interacting with teens. Loved dd having her friends around at this stage, and we'd sit and gab and listen to music etc. Love hearing their opinions and ideas.

Op most takeaway food is best day after too - cold pizza, reheated Indian, Chinese and Thai, cold Russian (with lots of pickles)

ALL the "boring trivia" so many moan about, love tv quizzes and quiz apps but just genuinely love learning some odd factoid anew. The "I just learned this" threads are comedy and info gold for me!

Excel spreadsheets I use numbers now but I spreadsheet EVERYTHING! Household accounts, grocery shopping, dream lottery win fantasies...

@yawnsvillex again there's quite a few of we happy singletons on here

@Grenlei that's one of my "lottery win" things cos it's virtually impossible to get a loan for one these days. I'd love to live in one. One place I lived and worked quite a few of my colleagues lived in the local static caravan park and their costs were so low and they seemed very happy living that way, all ages and backgrounds where I was at that time it was quite a normal thing. However if it was a proper big win it'd have to be a yacht! I love boats and swimming and water and the seas... which many don't have the same feeling for. I'd happily get a decent boat and bugger off around the world if I could

Robbybobtail · 05/01/2021 01:47

Solitude (Not doing the school run is the best thing about lockdown)
The smell of turps
Piles and piles of cushions
Thunderstorms/lightening
Large, noisy families
Saying hello in passing
Staying to one side on a path (during current circs I mean)

(I have no idea if most people dislike these things though!)

TheUnexpectedPickle · 05/01/2021 01:49

Airports
My family
My partner
His mum!
Cheap sausages
Coldplay

Bluebellberry · 05/01/2021 02:00

grassisjeweled · 05/01/2021 02:03

Furrybutts · 05/01/2021 02:32

Being alone.
Walking my dogs in rain or cold weather.
Eating out alone.
Not having the TV on for background noise.
Housework.
Not having the central heating on unless it's Baltic.

Looking at that list I sound like a right misery, but I'm honestly not 😆

Toilenstripes · 05/01/2021 03:15

Hot sunshine
Iced tea

0blio · 05/01/2021 12:30

Yy to Piers Morgan, I don't always agree with him but he's often the voice of reason in a mad world.

and sprouts Smile

WhatACrockOfShit · 05/01/2021 13:16

Having my ears syringed

MsTSwift · 05/01/2021 13:21

I enjoyed being in hospital when I had my second I didn’t want to come home and have to do stuff and look after a toddler and a newborn. An evil part of me wasn’t sorry dd2 had that jaundice thing where they need lights. She wasn’t bothered.

I also like piers Morgan.

praepondero · 05/01/2021 14:14

Solitude.
Being home with my children
Smell of bonfires.
Hosting dinners.
Driving.
Open water swimming.
Foie gras.
Sour things of all sorts.
Fish. There's not a fish I don't eye with hunger.
Men.
Happy, upbeat music but not hip-hop or disco.
Opera.

Bumpsadaisie · 05/01/2021 14:16

Cleaning! I really love it. I would happily spend a weekend spring cleaning my house.
