Dogs on beds.
Dogs jumping up to say hello.
Dogs doing a pre wash of anything before it goes in the dishwasher
Dogs in general, in case you hadn’t guessed
Wearing shoes indoors.
Other people’s messy houses
Winter, inc. the dark mornings and evenings (and not just because without them we wouldn’t have spring)
And I really liked my MiL (RIP)

@CheviotEwe

Supermarket food shopping. Obviously, with COVID, I've not done much of it these past few moths and we've been doing online orders for years anyway, so I rarely get to indulge Sad
Supermarket shopping abroad is the best! Japanese supermarkets are places of wonder. Even their convenience store are brilliant. Then again, I live in a place where you can’t even buy alcohol at the supermarket Sad

Offal, my grandad was a butcher so I was brought up on it. Love sweetbreads and kidney but not liver.

Roystonv · 07/01/2021 16:38

The gorgeous honey stinky smell of a ferret.

ivykaty44 · 07/01/2021 20:24

Love liver and bacon

If liver is cooked correctly it is superb, unfortunately it is very often cooked wrong & tastes vile if so. Same with Brussels, if over boiled ( if boiling never cook for more than 5 minutes) as it creates chemical reaction and they taste vile. I roast mine

Brilliant. I wish they were in my local shop.

What a lovely thread to read as I'm finally going to bed (last), thanks OP.

I live in a big city in the South East and so many of my friends seem to thrive on big, spontaneous things, whereas I (in middle age) am sort of winding down and realising that it's actually the smaller, intimate things that really give pleasure.

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle

The Trio was my favourite book - 3 books in one Titus Groan, Gormenghast, Titus Alone and I had a video of Gormenghast. Must update that to DVD!

peaceanddove · 08/01/2021 10:51

Another one.

Huge, over the top weddings. DH's best friend hired Duns Castle in Scotland for his 3 day wedding extravaganza. Guests wore evening dress and the bride's dress was (personally) designed by Vera Wang. It was awesome, like something out of a film.

And, yes, they are still very happily married nearly 16 years later x
