What things do you LIKE that most people dislike

Mine are:

Winter
Rain
Early mornings
Riverdance

Adding a few more to my list, because I love this thread.

Squirrels stealing from the bird feeder.

Other people’s kids (as well as my own, obviously). They’re all SO different and that’s always entertaining.

Grammar and punctuation nerds. People who can spot a misplaced apostrophe at a thousand yards are very good at recommending some of the best books I’ve ever read.

Stripping wallpaper.

Geeks. Geeky people discussing their pet projects i don't fully understand. I love it when people are interested in things that don't matter to intense levels, finding passion and joy interesting even if I don't share it.

Mice, shiny black beetles, wood lice.

I love it when people have little niche interests too. And bugs/insects fascinate me, never understand when people are so creeped out or hateful of them.

chuggy pigs always look good to me

Pebble/stony beaches rather than sand.. eg more interesting craggy ones full of rock pools that you have to clamber over, rather than smooth flat pristine sand...
Wild desolate places
Death Valley and that kind of intense dry heat

Caterpillars and moths..I find them incredibly cute and beautiful...have done lifelong,... not creepy crawly at all..

Stressful situations at work. Everyone around me loses the plot but I stay calm (and find it quite funny)

I like really rubbish cheese like Babybel.

I also like exams.

Instant coffee.
Cheap, unbranded lemonade. I find schweppes and the like far too sweet.

Crap sausages. You can keep your artisan-produced, herb-scented, organic stuff - I want cheap, pappy Richmond in my breakfast bap or with my mash. Even better if they're burnt.

Eating alone in proper restaurants.

Eating alone is the BEST, especially if you have a good-sized hardback book to do some surreptitious people-watching from behind.

Other people's behaviour in restaurants is fascinating and you can only really appreciate it when you're by yourself, on the outside looking in.

I used to travel a lot for work in pre-Covid times, and I am a master of eating well and spying on people on an expense account. I look forward to it happening again soon.
