How much Christmas food do you have left?

I've got a roasted turkey breast in the freezer. Half a packet of pate and half a brie. Frozen sausage rolls. A box of Guylian chocs, a box of Heroes and Lindt truffles. Two mince pies and 4 Tescos yule log bites. One piece of christmas pud and a splash of brandy sauce. A smoked cheese and salami platter. A jar of cranberry sauce. A pack of cashew nuts that need roasting. Countless crackers. DP went home today (support bubble) with six plastic pots of cheese and leftovers, plus a whole Christmas pud that feeds 8.
I'm so ready for salad. Anyone else still bursting at the seams with Christmas fare?

Oops, forgot to add the stollen and panattone...

I've got two packs of reduced price pigs in blankets in the freezer, an unopened jar of cranberry sauce, some cheese (I finished the crackers yesterday), a pile of nice juices like shloer and elderflower cordial, a large packet of malteser bites, half a packet of Baileys biscuits and gifted chocolates and biscuits.

I'm planning on putting the unopened sweet stuff on Olio so I can't be tempted to eat it.

Few bits of festive chocolate and half a packet of stuffing balls in the freezer. And I think some carrots, but I’d usually have carrots in the fridge anyway. I deliberately avoid buying loads of Christmas food because I don’t want leftovers for ages - aside from a bit of chocolate I want Christmas food gone by the 27th.

We've been struggling through trying to get rid of it all. There's still half a Christmas cake which DH is dealing with, quite a lot of cheese which is my responsibility and a fair amount of chocolate which we are getting rid of between us, with help from DS Smile

feelingverylazytoday · 04/01/2021 00:50

None. All gone by the end of boxing day.

Mintjulia · 04/01/2021 00:51

Cheese. And some blinis in the freezer.

As of today all the chicken, ham, chocolates and puddings have been eaten. And we're out of bread so I'll be in Tesco tomorrow at 6.30am, covid-dodging while I stock up Grin. Better get some sleep.

It's so hard to throw away the things my mother has carefully made, but only I will eat them and only I need to diet now- so I have fudge, Christmas cake etc wondering if the birds would like the fruit cake? Will your DP eat all his little pots of leftovers OP? That must be very satisfying.

jessstan1 · 04/01/2021 00:53

Mince pies and a pudding.

IgiveupallthenamesIwantedareg0 · 04/01/2021 00:57

I have a Christmas Pudding and a jar of brandy buter still in the cupboard - we have decided to save it now for a wet and dreary Febuary weekend. I was delighted to see that my fridge today is looking more "normal" but still have some red cabbage, goose gravy, potato dumplings in the freezer - but we can use those anytime, lovely "winter" food! Quality Street, Roses, stollen all gone.

Packet of frangipane mince pies, packet of pigs in blankets in freezer, apricot cheese, crackers, chutneys, pate, tons of carrots, big box chocs.

Rubybluesy · 04/01/2021 01:05

Why buy so much? We weren't supposed to see people at Xmas

skankingpiglet · 04/01/2021 01:12

We have a fair bit left. A small fruit cake, a packet of mince pies, 1/2 a stollen, 2 boxes chocolates, a tin of gingerbread, a bottle each of red and white wine, a few bottles of ale, a Xmas pud, a packet of stuffing mix, and a lump of stilton. In the freezer I have a number of tubs of homemade stock, a few finger foods, a tub of homemade cranberry mustard, and a packet of cooked red cabbage. We would have eaten all the sweet stuff by now, but DH was given 2 hampers just before Xmas which doubled/tripled certain things we had already bought. Nothing will go to waste though, and it will be eaten over the next month.

AlwaysLatte · 04/01/2021 01:18

I was so worried about not being able to get a fresh turkey that I put a turkey crown in the freezer, and a 3-bird roast supermarket thing that we had this evening (which was actually jolly nice, especially considering it was a 'spare'. We had some port and cranberry sauce as I froze half of it at Christmas, and my 10 year old polished off the rest of the Yule log. Still plenty of emergency party food in the freezer as my adult stepsons and partners don't always plan far ahead for visits (and of course we couldn't have them here). So just working through it all now!

Standrewsschool · 04/01/2021 01:27

Cooked the Christmas pudding we never got around to eating, plus another steamed pudding yesterday.

I’ve still got some frozen Christmas logs, although I did buy a couple a few days ago because they were reduced.

Apart from that, a tin of IKEA ginger biscuits and some extra cheese I brought. Plus half a box of crackers.

grassisjeweled · 04/01/2021 01:32

Nothing thank god

TyneTeas · 04/01/2021 01:42

Surely all food that's even vaguely Christmas related needs to be eaten out of the way by twelfth night,...

AfterSchoolWorry · 04/01/2021 01:51

Nothing. I don't over buy. I can't bear Christmas food overstaying it's welcome.

MuseumGardens · 04/01/2021 01:54

An unopened Christmas pudding and small Christmas cake. Frozen cooked turkey. I'll probably wait until I have a sugar craving and nothing sweet in the house and have the cake or pudding then. The turkey I'll make a roast with bread sauce/stuffing/cranberry/brussels and roasties

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 04/01/2021 01:56

Nothing.

Mainly because I've been pulling my weight and carrying on like the very hungry Caterpillar Blush

Smileandtheworldsmileswithyou · 04/01/2021 01:58

A whole M&S Christmas cake, loads of chocolate, panettone, mince pies...

Rainbows89 · 04/01/2021 02:16

A few mince pies, a bit of Christmas cake, half a Brie, a large mincemeat tart, some cheesecake, a bit of Christmas pudding, some quality Street, various bits of chocolate, brandy butter, cream.

It will all go over the next week or so.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 04/01/2021 02:24

All the strawberry and orange creams from the quality street (the only ones no one likes!) and a large chunk of Brie. Think that’s about it now - I finished off the last chocolate orange today. Teen DD still has 2 selection boxes and a chocolate penguin but she likes to make her Christmas chocolate last as long as possible - I think she sees it as a sort of competition with herself to see if she can make it last longer each year!

Bloodybridget · 04/01/2021 02:24

Four pigs in blankets, some roast ham and a whole pack of mini beef Wellingtons in the freezer, a few canape blinis in the fridge; that's all, I think. Not a problem!

Willowkins · 04/01/2021 02:32

I have 4 tins of shortbread (varying sizes), 1 box of chocs, ½ tin of Roses, 2½ packets of nuts, 3 tubs of snacks, 2 packs of partyfood in the freezer and a Genoa cake. I only got the normal amount but of course had no guests this year Xmas Sad

TuxedoPantherSheHer · 04/01/2021 06:03

Packet of mince pies, packet of iced mince pies, a Christmas cake, some Christmas cake bites, 3 mini Xmas puddings and a full size one, tin of marrons glacé, some Baileys and some vegan Baileys, florentines, some caviar flavour crisps we got given and some chipolatas are in the freezer.
