How much Christmas food do you have left?

I've got a roasted turkey breast in the freezer. Half a packet of pate and half a brie. Frozen sausage rolls. A box of Guylian chocs, a box of Heroes and Lindt truffles. Two mince pies and 4 Tescos yule log bites. One piece of christmas pud and a splash of brandy sauce. A smoked cheese and salami platter. A jar of cranberry sauce. A pack of cashew nuts that need roasting. Countless crackers. DP went home today (support bubble) with six plastic pots of cheese and leftovers, plus a whole Christmas pud that feeds 8.
I'm so ready for salad. Anyone else still bursting at the seams with Christmas fare?

@Rubybluesy

Why buy so much? We weren't supposed to see people at Xmas
@Rubybluesy there's always one 🙈
yankeedoodledandee · 04/01/2021 08:14

I have nothing left, I don't buy most of the stuff that people seem to have leftover though.

MegaClutterSlut · 04/01/2021 08:15

I have loads. 2 tubs of cheeselets, 2 tubs of chive crackers, 3 tins of chocolate, 1 box of m&s cookies, peanuts, 3 bags of sensation crisps, part bake rolls, chocolate fingers, 2 bottles of coke, j20s and pringles. In my defense the day before boris announced only 1 day allowed to mix over Christmas, I went food shopping as the inlaws were due round boxing Hmm

Half a jar of xmas chutney, couple of mince pies (not helped by DH buying the discounted ones post-xmas), some Lindor balls, Baileys (although that'll go in hot choc for quite some time to come), some gingerbread choc digestives and a load of crackers.

WalkingMeAway · 04/01/2021 08:23

Loads of chocolate and nuts. A few cheeses.

DelurkingAJ · 04/01/2021 08:33

Chocolate will last for months. Xmas cookies (gingerbread house has been demolished though). Xmas ham (will cube and freeze...DH has been resisting). A couple of bottles of bubbly. Much cabbage.

More of the ham would be gone had DS2 not had an unusually fussy week for food and refused risotto.

I’m (as a side note) amazed by people whose families have known appetites. DSs are primary aged and when hungry will eat adult portions and when not eat like birds.

Franticbutterfly · 04/01/2021 08:46

Loads and loads of chocolate (which I bought for receiving visitors that obviously didn't happen), some cheese, crackers and chutneys. Also a few things in the freezer.

shinny · 04/01/2021 08:51

3 quarters of the Christmas cake - don’t know why I didn’t halve the recipe - pate and turkey goulash - all in freezer. Ham eaten and most of cheese and all chocolate gone. I didn’t go overboard this year as can’t stand the fridge being unnavigable!

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 04/01/2021 08:51

Ended up with two turkeys, so one was frozen right away, might eat it for Easter. Then the one I cooked was massive, so we have bags of sliced turkey in the freezer, having another turkey dinner tonight.
We never had a buffet tea so have loads of crakers and cheeses left dropping to Mum later a box of mince pies, some sweets left too toblerones and after eights. Don't think they'll last much longer.

RuthTopp · 04/01/2021 08:54

We've not done a shop since 21/12 . Still have lots left.

teenagetantrums · 04/01/2021 09:00

Chocolate. Loads of cheese and crackers. some frozen turkey. That's about it

underneaththeash · 04/01/2021 09:01

We've some canapes in the freezer and half a game terrine in their too and 4 mince pies!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/01/2021 09:02

The turkey formed the basis for a couple meals that are now in the freezer, but apart from that just some cheese left. It's going to take me at least a week of normal eating to brave the scales.

AlwaysLatte · 04/01/2021 09:09

Wait, @bridget left over pigs in blankets??
Leftover pigs in blankets
Leftover pigs in blankets
.... nope, I can't get that sentence to make sense!! 🤔

StCharlotte · 04/01/2021 09:15

A bit of cheese. A bit of gammon (cooked after Christmas).

A partucular pannetone which I bought on Saturday because we had one over Christmas and it was the most delicious thing. As it should be for £25! It's hidden and like a pp, I might save it for Easter. I might not.

MrsDThomas · 04/01/2021 09:19

Nothing. We dont over buy. Were not huge eaters and binge at Christmas.

I did buy a fresh crown in tesco for £5 on Christmas Eve if that counts?

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 04/01/2021 09:20

Some cheeses, but we just didn't buy as much because we knew it was just us for Christmas, bought a turkey breast joint rather than a whole turkey, a small gammon rather than a huge one and it's all gone now. I've still got done Tony's chocolate that was on my stocking but that's stashed for a chocolate based lockdown emergency.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 04/01/2021 09:21

Two thirds of the Christmas cake but that's normal
A dozen homemade mince pies still in the freezer
A few ends of cheese - being eaten
Just under half the Christmas pudding
A few biscuits from one tin plus a packet of nice German ones
Some veg and fruit

In my defence we had fewer mouths to feed than planned for. Tier 4 n'all that.

AdventCaroline · 04/01/2021 09:57

Some cheese, crackers, smoked salmon, chocolates, shortbread, a pandoro and a stollen, some flavoured hot chocolate. A small amount of Christmas cake and a couple of mince pies.

I want it to last until the 6th - it's still Christmas until then in my mind.

BearSoFair · 04/01/2021 10:04

2 small cheeses
One iced mince pie
5 mini mince pies
A box of frozen satay chicken skewers
One drum of cheese footballs
One box of cheese straws
Half a box of Lindor

edwinbear · 04/01/2021 10:06

Plenty of cheese/crackers bought for New Years Day, lots of sweets/chocolate but DC will take care of that and will last until at least Easter. Some pate and salami, but we normally have that in the house anyway and will be eaten by DC for lunches now they won't be in school.

ElfieElfington · 04/01/2021 10:06

I've put the Christmas pudding away to have later in the year (we had last years in the first lockdown) and some nuts and Pringles that have a longish date.

I've got done sliced ham in the freezer so that's ok. In the fridge we've just got some cheeses (which will be eaten in the next 24hrs or binned) and pickles which will keep for a while. We've got a part eaten box of chocolates and a box not opened, these will be eaten as treats over the next few weeks I'm back on SW so they'll be synned and eaten in place of my usual kitkats and Freddos.

Oh, and an unopened tin of biscuits DD will eat with help from DP when he's here.

Iseeyoulookingatme · 04/01/2021 10:10

We have a pack of pigs in blankets in the freezer, loads of cheese left over as dh went a bit overboard on the cheese front.
I've got so much chocolate and biscuits left as we got so many off other people. And we have a Christmas pudding as we haven't got a microwave at the moment and it was gifted to dh in a hamper.
I will be eating chocolate and biscuits until at least April.

Thesearmsofmine · 04/01/2021 10:12

I have a fair bit of chocolate and a couple of tins of biscuits left plus some savoury snacks, mincemeat, cranberry sauce, crackers and pigs in blankets in the freezer. It will all get eaten though.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 04/01/2021 10:15

Some chocolates I received as a gift. Apart from that, nothing.
