How much Christmas food do you have left?

I've got a roasted turkey breast in the freezer. Half a packet of pate and half a brie. Frozen sausage rolls. A box of Guylian chocs, a box of Heroes and Lindt truffles. Two mince pies and 4 Tescos yule log bites. One piece of christmas pud and a splash of brandy sauce. A smoked cheese and salami platter. A jar of cranberry sauce. A pack of cashew nuts that need roasting. Countless crackers. DP went home today (support bubble) with six plastic pots of cheese and leftovers, plus a whole Christmas pud that feeds 8.
I'm so ready for salad. Anyone else still bursting at the seams with Christmas fare?

Unopened bag of frozen stuffing balls
Chocolate ice cream bites
Individual Christmas pudding
2 Brandy snaps
Few half sharing bags of crisps
Pork belly bites
Chipolatas, mini pasties, mini pork pies (all from out NYE buffet so need to be used or discarded today)
Lindt teddy
2 as yet unooened tins of Quality Street, half a carton of Celebrations, other chocolate.
Wow, sounds a lot listed. Will mostly all get eaten though. The pudding by me today! We love chocolate but aren't the types to eat a load on one go hence the slow moving chocolate consumption!

Bbq1 · 04/01/2021 12:48

Oh and and 4 mince pies!

wendz86 · 04/01/2021 12:53

Half a giant toblerone, a box of matchmakers and a few random other chocolates, some cheese.
I am on a diet now so trying to resist the chocolate .

Just cheese really but we purposely bought more than we would strictly need at Christmas because we love cheese and eat lots of it all year round!
So I suppose technically nothing.
No, that’s not true, I received a lot of chocolates just before Christmas (from work) which have been taken back into work today to be shared!

longtompot · 04/01/2021 13:17

An unopened pack of dates, much cheese including a stinky Camembert which was meant to be baked on NYE, some gingerbread stuff, half a jar cranberry sauce and crackers for cheese.
I also have some dried fruits to make some florentines and puff pastry to make some mince pies. I'll still do those this month anyway, as they are nice all year round.
Oh, also a large pot of double cream unopened which I think I'll need to turn into butter now as it's out of date.

longtompot · 04/01/2021 13:18

Oh and a third of a Christmas cake!

safariboot · 04/01/2021 13:20

Half the Christmas cake, a few liquorice allsorts, some probably sprouted potatoes, a couple of cereal variety pack boxes, and I think that's it.

Bluntness100 · 04/01/2021 13:20

Not much, about half the cheese board and crackers, some goose fat, cranberry sauce, and a large bottle of baileys.

Scbchl · 04/01/2021 13:21

Two tubs of sweets - heroes and Rose's. Aftereights, pack of matchsticks. Box of shortbread. Box of biscuits, cheeseboard, salami and meats. Smoked salmon. Mince pies. Two mini christmas puddings. Some party food for the oven. That's it.

firstimemamma · 04/01/2021 13:21

A half eaten box of crackers and a nearly full jar of cranberry sauce, that's it.

Molehillfromamountain · 04/01/2021 13:32

Half a Christmas cake, couple of small pieces of cheese for me to tackle, bowl of nuts for DH to tackle with the nutcracker.
I have saved, a large Christmas pud, fancy crackers, fancy nuts plus prawns and pigs in blankets in the freezer. I'm planning a second go at Christmas dinner when it safe for my family to visit...we cancelled our original plans.
Christmas in July, why not Xmas Grin

GarytheRedNosedUnicorn · 04/01/2021 13:35

Just taken 4 tubs of quality street/heroes type chocs to the food bank. Gifts from customers. Can’t risk them being in the house! Also took 2 boxes of mince pies and some family packs of crisps. Diet started today, don’t want any temptations!

HemlockStarglimmer · 04/01/2021 13:45

We didn't really buy any Christmas food apart from mince pies and there are none of those left. There's some cheese we were given as a gift that we've not had yet but it's not particularly Christmassy.
We're vegetarian so turkey and pigs in blankets hold no charm for us. Despite turkey being my meat of choice before becoming veggie.

Cameleongirl · 04/01/2021 14:18

Half a mince pie and some Brie. Everything else has been scoffed.🤣. I wish I had some Christmas cake left but that went quickly. I think I’ll make a fruit cake, I seem to need ballast during the winter!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 04/01/2021 14:44

At least 18 mince pies, homemade and in a tin, so they’ll keep.

Some Christmas pudding and brandy butter, only because I made a big one just for me and dh, but that won’t last much longer.

Used up the last (frozen) bits of the turkey last night.
Still some chocolate and nuts, but they’re going down fast.

The remains of the gammon, but that’s going to be cubed and fried in a hash tonight, with potatoes, onion, and some freshly cooked chopped cabbage added. Should be green cabbage but I have a lot of white to use up, so that’ll have to do.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 04/01/2021 14:56

2 of the homemade mince pies plus half a jar of leftover mincemeat, a tub of salted caramel creme fraiche and one of vanilla. Loads of xmas cake which is not unusual but dh will happily eat for the next couple of months, one box of lindt and two small xmas puds, oh there may be a bit of cheese too but we always have cheese so no worries there.

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 04/01/2021 21:29

Cheese but that's normal for us.

An unopened pannetone we'll probably save for a couple of months.

Small gammon we haven't got around to cooking yet but will have this week, with the leftovers sliced into ham and frozen.

thegcatsmother · 05/01/2021 10:10

The excess turkey is in the freezer for soup and curry. We are eating the remains of the ham. Still have some baking potatoes. The cheese gets eaten anyway. Lots of cocktail sausages in the freezer which is great for frog in a bog on a cold and cheerless day.

MrsR87 · 05/01/2021 10:18

We just have a brisket beef joint in the freezer. I ordered a large meat hamper from the local butcher in summer in the hope that we would be able to entertain and introduce our newborn to family. Of course, this didn’t happen, so I froze much of it and have been using in regular cooking. Think we’re going to have it this weekend, slow cooked in a rich gravy with mash and maybe some Yorkshire puddings too. The leftovers will then be used for a version of a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and a shredded beef pizza.

Other than that, we just have the chocs and biscuits that were gifted to us. We’re not big on snacks so will take us a while to get through them.

Bloodybridget · 05/01/2021 10:20

@AlwaysLatte it's not that we don't love them! There's only two of us, we didn't have Christmas dinner till NYE and our Cook meal included 8 pigs, ordinary chipolata size sausages, so I kept half in the freezer. Looking forward to them!

DrunkenKoala · 05/01/2021 10:33

Have a bit of roasted turkey and pigs in blankets in the freezer, we’ll be having that at the weekend.
Also have half a Christmas cake left and some cheese and crackers. I’m about to bake DD’s birthday cake so that’ll keep us going for a bit too.

Plussizejumpsuit · 05/01/2021 10:40

@Rubybluesy

Why buy so much? We weren't supposed to see people at Xmas
I like to have nice things to eat over the festive period. That's not so abnormal is it?
AlwaysLatte · 05/01/2021 11:19

Why buy so much? We weren't supposed to see people at Xmas

I bought extra for the freezer earlier when the 5-households plan was in place I was hopeful that we might see our adult children, but also because I knew that it might just be the 7 of us (sadly we still haven't seen the older two of course) and in case I wasn't able to find a fresh turkey, which I did.

popcorndiva · 05/01/2021 11:25

Box of mince pies
A large tin of heroes
Large box of Ferrero rocher
2 selection boxes (basically far too much chocolate)

Put half the stuffing and pigs in blanket in freezer. Will have them with a Sunday Roast this month

Norwayreally · 05/01/2021 12:19

We have a huge bag of chocolate we placed in the loft so we weren’t tempted by it.
