What random things do you like to watch on YouTube?

With all the time spent indoors this year I've really got into a few things on YouTube that pass the time in quite a relaxing way...

It got me thinking about what else might be on there that I haven't even discovered yet.

What random stuff are you into watching on YouTube?

Mine are:

  • A Canadian guy who runs an antique store and who occasionally buys hoarder houses and clears them out while looking for antiques and vintage finds
  • A series about a British family doing up a French chateau (they do it very in keeping with its original style)
  • A woman who goes mudlarking on the banks of the Thames, you go along with her to see what she finds

Sooo good!

This sounds like my kind of thing!

I like

Brad Mondo
Twins The New Trend

SNL Sketches, I don't know why but What's Up With That makes me howl Grin

I think its called Insider, where people describe how realistic movie scenes, professions are. There was a really good one with a former spy, and one with and ER nurse. Really interesting

The Brady Bunch, Car Share outtakes, Little Adventures guinea pigs.

AIMD · 03/01/2021 19:46

People trying on colour blind glasses and seeing colour properly for the first time.

Spot squeezing

Hero’s saving people

Pyewhacket · 03/01/2021 19:53

Gosh loads. Bushcraft, nutters camping in 2 foot of snow. History type stuff where they build a bonze age round house or prepare a medieval banquet . James Mays cooking channel - pimp my beans. And some real strange stuff , like a guy in America who repairs tractors and combine harvesters or Tank Chats from the tank museum. Perhaps I’m just weird.

VienneseWhirligig · 03/01/2021 19:55

Knitting or crochet stitches, to learn more skills

People doing pastels, watercolours or oil paintings. So calming and relaxing!

VienneseWhirligig · 03/01/2021 19:59

Oh and urban explorers in abandoned theme parks. And the Disney Food Blog!

HeronLanyon · 03/01/2021 20:01

Watched a great vid yesterday of an American guy licking blackberries and then setting up juicer and juicing them. No word spoken. Most peaceful thing ever ! (I was about to juice some so there was some reason for it)

That ‘movie stars dance to Uptown funk’ video and the quintet from West Side Story’ used quite purposely to improve general mood of feeling flat.
Bon appétit food magazine vidéos before there was all that bother last summer.
Carpentry (recently got a lathe game app - cant tell you how relaxing it is - if I had an outbuilding (or even a garden shed) I’d for sure buy a lathe and mess about with it.

I was so amazed at how put-together and calm the mother looked. That geisha training obviously paid off!

DeadButDelicious · 03/01/2021 20:46

I remembered some more! I absolutely love the English heritage Mrs Crocombe videos.

Annika Victoria, she makes her own clothes and did a great little series called Make Thrift Buy.

Christine McConnell she makes spooky creations and I just love her.

Toxic Tears, Jake Munro, it's black Friday, Emily boo etc I love a goth channel.

Rachel Maksy, historical and vintage dress making and cosplay.

Shop time, Nick Zammetti and Carl Jacobson all make wooden and resin things, I like watching the process.

Laura Clery, I think she's hilarious.

FloorLamp · 03/01/2021 21:02

Haha how strange I'm currently watching Nicola White Mudlarking as I came across this thread! I also watch Si Finds occasionally too.

Recognize a few channels mentioned as
I watch alot of random stuff too. I really enjoying watching urban exploration, it totally fascinates me some of the places that have just been left untouched for decades.

I've also watched a guy in America who drives around on rubbish day picking up things from outside houses to sell. Some of the things he finds is crazy! Seen a few of the dumpster diving ones too.

Ghost town living is the guy who bought the abandoned mining town and had been living there alone since march I think when lockdown prevented him leaving. It's really interesting too.

A guy who jetwashes driveways/patios etc for a living.. Something very therapeutic about that, also another guy who cuts hedges!

Magnet fishing... Again interesting what's in the water!

I've seen the guy who clears drains in America, can't remember his name.

Hope for paws... Always make me cry!

Kitboga who calles scammers with different voices and leads them on for hours at a time, sometimes even days.

Off the Ranch, they bought a half built abandoned mansion and have been doing it up.

A couple of DIY house channels... Always think it will motivate me... Still waiting!

A few aquarium channels cos I keep fish

The list does go on but I think this is long enough!

AliceinBunniland · 03/01/2021 21:05

I used to watch hair brushing and massage videos as I found them relaxing and then I realised what asmr is

FloorLamp · 03/01/2021 21:17

If you like ASMR and Mudlarking you really need to check out Tom Burleigh. His voice is so soothing!

50shadesoflunacy · 03/01/2021 21:21

For clean with me vids, I like This Crazy Life and Jessica Tull.

Over Christmas, I have been watching Nate from East Idaho news delivering Secret Santa gifts to people who have been nominated. This gets me right in the feels.

Usual cyst squirting/ear wax extraction goodies.

Matt D'avella, minimalist dude who I find fascinating.

Dr James Kelly for ASMR goodness.

50shadesoflunacy · 03/01/2021 21:22

Oh and Haircut Harry, and other barbering videos.

calamityjam · 03/01/2021 21:31

I watch a homeless American guy who likes cemeteries. I've been watching him for years and we are now good friends. He calls me once a week and we message each other every day.

MirandaMarple · 03/01/2021 21:32

Ruth Langsford. No, I don't know why, either 🤷🏼‍♀️

CrustyChrimbo · 05/01/2021 20:47

I've just come on to say I'm now thoroughly hooked on the Canadian antiques guy (curiosity Inc). I grew up not far from there and their accents make be nostalgic. And the stuff he finds in hoarder houses! It's so very satisfying to watch. It has also inspired me to dung out a few corners of my house.

FloorLamp · 08/01/2021 23:54

I had never came across him before being mentioned in this thread. I've just finished watching him clear out the musicians house... So much stuff! I didn't realise he had met her previously, that was a lovely tribute video he done for her, brought a wee tear to my eye! I loved seeing the pictures he had showing her in the different rooms from the exact spot 😀

notsosmoothie · 09/01/2021 00:00

Ceramics - watching people throw pots and bowls mostly in silence.

Thecathouse · 09/01/2021 01:06

Dr Mike - hilarious

Crazy Russian hacker - lots of testing weird gadgets and random unboxing

Weird history

Kaitlyn Dougherty (she’s a mortician)

Aquarimax (all about isopods and reptiles)

Northern Exotics

The Infographics show
