What random things do you like to watch on YouTube?

With all the time spent indoors this year I've really got into a few things on YouTube that pass the time in quite a relaxing way...

It got me thinking about what else might be on there that I haven't even discovered yet.

What random stuff are you into watching on YouTube?

Mine are:

  • A Canadian guy who runs an antique store and who occasionally buys hoarder houses and clears them out while looking for antiques and vintage finds
  • A series about a British family doing up a French chateau (they do it very in keeping with its original style)
  • A woman who goes mudlarking on the banks of the Thames, you go along with her to see what she finds
OP posts:

Southern ASMR a lady called Mary who amongst other things tidies shelves in Dollar Tree. Very relaxing.

Jump rope ‘journeys’ one picked up a rope in April and can now do the most amazing tricks.

1bike1world Scottish guy picks up a kitten while biking around the world-very heart warming.

TheChosenTwo · 03/01/2021 00:21

Placemarking to investigate some of these in the morning, some really rather niche stuff!
I haven’t explored YouTube beyond makeup and beauty stuff Blush

gaggiagirl · 03/01/2021 00:33

Squishy makeovers.
Caroline Girvan for workouts.
Sandisfaction..watching someone play with kinetic sand.
Uncle Roger who reacts to fried rice videos
Kalen Allen who reacts to viral food videos
Amy maryon. I watch her batch cook freezer meals for hours
That chapter true crime
Emmy made in Japan who tries different recipes out.
How to cook that with Ann Reardon.

I basically only YouTube now. Nothing else exists.

@Woodlandbelle

Great thread

My favourite is one a young women does up an old victorian house. I love it. She does charity shop hauls etc.

Also like clean with me videos but not the shouty American types just something gentle like autumn decor

Or homesense visits on YouTube

What is the Victorian house one called?
SenecaFallsRedux · 03/01/2021 00:44

Historical clothing
Studio apartments and tiny houses
Before and after home decorating, especially on a modest budget
Handbags
Graham Norton clips
New Orleans architecture and real estate
Old sitcoms and cooking shows

I've got attached to various vanlifers - their lives have changed so much over the last year. Some no longer travel, but are still interesting:

Trent and Allie, who were the king and queen of vanlife but are now back in the US, got married and are in the process of building a house;
Tinie Planet, who is currently at home in Germany but plans a trip to Spain and Portugal. It was gripping watching her drive all the way from the UK back home a month or so into lockdown, without stopping off anywhere. I take my hat off to her, she is so brave; And the ExPawers (socalled because they have 2 dogs), currently at home in the south of Spain but hoping to travel again soon.
I'm living my life vicariously through them all just now!

SenecaFallsRedux · 03/01/2021 00:47

Emmy made in Japan. I forgot that one. So interesting and such a charming young woman.

whatwherewhywhenhow · 03/01/2021 00:54

Clean with me videos!

Icequeen01 · 03/01/2021 00:57

Hope for Paws - an American animal rescue organisation. It breaks my heart and then mends it again when I see the happy outcome. I spend most of the time sobbing - no idea why I do it to myself!

BillMasheen · 03/01/2021 01:00

@perhapstomorrow

Got a bit obsessed watching a lady in China living with her grandma who makes everything from scratch. From growing veggies in her garden to cutting bamboo to make a table. Just mesmerising.
That’s liziqi isn’t it?

Bloody love her

PawPawNoodle · 03/01/2021 01:01

I too watch Curiosity Inc! Love him (and fancy him).

I watch Kara & Nate and Evan & Katelyn too.

I like Eamon & Bec - Canadian caravanners that have recently bought a remote cabin in the woods that they're renovating

Tom Pemberton - family owned dairy farm in Lancashire

UK Dash cameras - for a good laugh at other people's driving

Royalty Soaps - lovely sweet woman from Texas making cold process soap. Shes so creative and intelligent.

Lumnah Acres - off the grid homestead in North East USA, makes flat-pack buildings and its fascinating

Weed em and Reap - goat farm in Arizona (lots of goat babies! Lovely family too)

A Chick Called Albert - literally the most wonderful Dutch man caring for mostly birds, but basically any living being. I would marry him. Recently did a chick hatching livestream.

Gold Shaw Farm - another NE USA farm, this one has waterfowl and a lovely big fluffy guardian dog. Very wholesome.

Geoff Marshall - avid train/tube/London man. Much learning.

Tyler Tube - leaves stuff in random liquids for 30 days and shows you what comes out. Disgusting and fascinating.

I used to like Brandon Farris but I find he just plays up to the camera farrrr too much now. To the point that it's just so annoying.
MargaretHooper · 03/01/2021 01:32

Also: another BIG JET TV fan.

Mally2020 · 03/01/2021 01:38

I adored it before, but disney travel vloggers such as timtracker or adam hattan and gary c, or as a broader one even themeparkworldwide/adventure shawn. Such a good watch especially if you can't travel there yourself and they have encouraged me to travel more myself

HermosaMain · 03/01/2021 01:40

DGN driving school - I've had my licence for 15 years so don't know why I enjoy watching his mock driving test videos. I like his voice though.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 03/01/2021 03:21

@Prokupatuscrakedatus I was just scrolling back through the thread for ideas of what to watch tonight, and noticed we both mentioned Bernadette Banner and Baumgartner as our top two picks. You have good taste Wink

trixiebelden77 · 03/01/2021 06:42

I follow a few with ‘cottage’ in their channel title who do these videos on slow-living. Soothing.

Also like the ambience ones - noises from an era eg Victorian London so horses hooves, rag and bone men calling out etc.

Vivana · 03/01/2021 06:47

Bond court I like watching.

JEssWhyEmEe · 03/01/2021 06:57

I love watching Voice Teachers reacting to singers - my fave is Sam Johnson. He's very informative about technique.

Also, there's a clip of all of Jessie J's performances on that Chinese talent show she won a few years back - SO good.

Eminybob · 03/01/2021 07:03

Brad Mondo - hair tutorials and reaction videos - I learnt how to bleach my own hair from this guy.

Milabu - beauty/fashion reviews and tutorials

Spot squeezing

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/01/2021 08:51

Another Brad Mondo fan, he's just so entertaining to watch ( "Oh honey, nooooo...")

Josefa Reina for spot squeezing

Dumpster diving videos - there's a couple in the US who make their living reselling the stuff they find in the bins of big stores - just jaw dropping what gets thrown away.

People opening cans of decades old food ( one guy eats it - he must have a cast iron stomach)

Flash mobs

Passion and the veins - two girls northern soul dancing in their garden.

Wood turning videos

Redpriestandmozart · 03/01/2021 09:08

I have absolutely no interest in any of this stuff in real life, all of these channels fascinate me :)

Baumgartner Restoration - this guy restores paintings, genius-level
www.youtube.com/c/BaumgartnerRestoration/videos

Bedo Leatherworks - shoe & handbag repairs
www.youtube.com/user/BEDO412

The Hoof GP - hoof trimming for cows
www.youtube.com/channel/UCo4S-ThBT3KDDHAMvKw2SQg

Matt Jordon - woodturning
www.youtube.com/channel/UC6nZXhOz_gHr4mlb5UNl9ug

Andy Phillip - woodturning
www.youtube.com/channel/UCDQz4H7tz6Fwu5_5rg4W6pA

Urban Extraction By Jada Kennedy - waxing & hair extraction
www.youtube.com/user/jadakennedy/videos

This is the stuff I watch when I want to relax and fall asleep, all are fascinating for their sheer level of expertise in their own field :)
