What random things do you like to watch on YouTube?

With all the time spent indoors this year I've really got into a few things on YouTube that pass the time in quite a relaxing way...

It got me thinking about what else might be on there that I haven't even discovered yet.

What random stuff are you into watching on YouTube?

Mine are:

  • A Canadian guy who runs an antique store and who occasionally buys hoarder houses and clears them out while looking for antiques and vintage finds
  • A series about a British family doing up a French chateau (they do it very in keeping with its original style)
  • A woman who goes mudlarking on the banks of the Thames, you go along with her to see what she finds

Squirmy and Grubs. Vlogs by a lovely couple called Hannah and Shane. Shane has spinal muscular atrophy and Hannah is his carer as well as his wife. They talk a lot about ableism and try to dispel myths about interabled couples. They're funny and sweet and interesting.

Reading this thread has made me think I don't utilise you tube enough!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/01/2021 10:28

@HeartsTrumpDiamonds
Thank you - I like when things get done calmly and to perfection (can't do it myself though).
I am now watching Liziqi, while fixing the second sleeve to Dobby the sweater.

MrsExpo · 03/01/2021 10:52

Glad I'm not the only one who watches odd stuff on YouTube.

I love to watch those clips where people with appalling hair go to the hairdresser for a makeover. amazing what a good hair cut can do for a person Smile

Giggorata · 03/01/2021 11:17

Olive and Mabel. Even if you're not a lab owner, this has been one of the lockdown highlights. Starting out as a sports commentator reporting on his dogs' activities, it has developed into the sort of conversations many of us have with our dogs.

Various younger people discovering Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and other bands from that era for the first time. Occasionally Pavarotti, too. Complex music and non electronic voices and music are clearly a revelation to some of them.

Ferrets. We used to have ferrets and they are the most fun animals. It's a delight to watch them stealing whatever they can lay their paws on and scampering about, dookering.

Tribal people reacting to... a strange title for Pakistani people sampling American foods and snacks for the first time. There are four extremely charismatic men, whom I have just fallen in love with; and a beautiful woman who appears less often.

Videos of ballet dancers and their variety of methods to make their new pointe shoes wearable.

Some of them really beat the tar out of them. Having never taken a ballet class and knowing nothing about it I find it fascinating.

Another fan of Big Jet TV. Also The Dodo - heartwarming stories of animals, often found in appalling conditions, nursed back to health and finding their forever homes or released back into the wild.

Desperatehousewife35 · 03/01/2021 12:25

Weird history is a favourite here! Also a guy living in a mining ghost town in the desert, videos of abandoned buildings/places all over the world. If I'm reading I like to put on a nice log fire scene or a snowy one.

ShivRoy · 03/01/2021 12:44

Jelles Marble Runs is incredible.

maddiemookins16mum · 03/01/2021 12:48

People taking flights in first class or business on Emirates and the like. I especially like when they show the menu (I choose what I’d have 🤣🤣) and then looking at the food.

UpHereForDancing · 03/01/2021 12:49

I watch everything and anything, but often Michael McKintyre sketches and celebrity interviews.

My DH has a carpentry firm though, and has found a lot of incredibly useful expert carpenters who have YouTube channels that he'll often spend an entire evening watching!

UpHereForDancing · 03/01/2021 12:54

I can't believe the people on here who regularly like to watch spots and cysts being squeezed and wax coming out of ears etc 🤢

I swear there's something sexual in it...

UpHereForDancing · 03/01/2021 12:57

@JovialNickname What is the name of the massage ones - sounds amazing!

Neoncoral · 03/01/2021 13:07

The best channel ever has to be JCS. How Netflix have not picked him up yet, I'll never know.

He talks you through the demeanour and body languages of police interrogations. He's just upload one about Jodie Aris. The Stephanie Lazarus one is compelling viewing.

The channel spoils it for all other true crime stuff though - nothing else seems as good!

Sooo good!

That's the bloke I was talking about

Fckingfuming · 03/01/2021 15:25

Colin Furze, barmy inventor, made loads of stuff through lockdown, my favourite was the 360 degree swing in his garden which looked like it went as high as the guttering, and wasn't harnessed, I had to watch that one through my fingers🤣.

Chris Hardwick (with Bobby the Ball Python)/ Predator BP/ GoHerping/ Snake Discovery and many others who keep, rescue or breed snakes and sometimes other reptiles.

Hope for paws and The Dodo.

Also lilsimsie creating houses and completing challenges on The Sims 4.

People making intricate dioramas and dollhouses.

Crochet, creations made with the Addi knitting machine, Dorset button making, needle felting, anything to do with fabrics and yarns really.

Decluttering videos.

After Work Reactions. American guy who watches UK TV comedy programmes and reacts to them. Very funny, he has a British sense of humour.

Peter Draws, (like a young Bob Ross) 🤣.

Bill McClintock music mixes, I loved 'If you wanna breath my sulphur'. It's a mash up between 'Sulpher' by Slipknot and the Spice girls 'Wannabe'.

Bad movies reviewers like RedLetterMedia.

Markiplier occasionally, (I have to be in a daft mood to watch with DD).

Tellmelies65 · 03/01/2021 15:58

Hauls of what people got for their birthday/shopping and Christmas.

maureenfrombarnsley · 03/01/2021 16:46

Currently Judge Judy, and a channel of True Crime mini docs called That Chapter.

Sheleg · 03/01/2021 16:46

I like to watch videos by an orthodox Jewish woman who reviews wigs.

CoronaIsWatching · 03/01/2021 16:52

Travel day vlogs, where people vlog their packing, travelling to the airport, the plane and arriving at their accommodation

EscapeTheCastle · 03/01/2021 17:53

umpteennamechanges I've been watching that channel for a long time too. So sad when his FIL law died and was it from Covid? Did you see the episodes about his long lost sister?

I like watching The Wads. An American lady doing the usual shop with mes etc but she's also very funny.

Adam the Woo for about 6 years or more. I feel really rather fond of him.

A couple of new ones, unruined by fame as yet are Hannah Ricketts and Extra Grack. Young ladies vlogging the usual stuff but they are both so lovely and have helped me during Lockdown by being so upbeat and fun.

Boston Dynamics for the robots and the comments section.

Britsh Pathe News for looking at the past.

Tom Scott talking about things of interest.

The Take for film analysis.

Funny Parrots.

Greencauliflowers · 03/01/2021 18:08

Disney vloggers - I’ve no intention of going there but have watched many, many hours of them and could quite confidently plan a trip 😂

DrDavidBanner · 03/01/2021 19:04

@SquirtleSquad

I watch a woman doing her make up whilst retelling true crime stories, murders..etc it's fascinating
Bailey Sarian? I love her!!!

Shana sha shana sha Grin
