How to you "visualise" a year?

I was talking to dh about how I picture a year in my mind, and he doesn't do this. His year is just one month after another in a straight line.
Mine is a circle (I'll try and attach a picture)

The whole bottom edge is the summer holidays and the top Christmas. It's completely disproportionate to the timescale! I've always viewed my years in my minds eye like this.

Anyone else?

Nope, straight line!

Grooticle · 02/01/2021 18:11

No.....

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/01/2021 18:12

Mine is a straight line but I always visualise August as longer for some reason! I think because it's the summer holidays.

Bobbiepin · 02/01/2021 18:15

January to March go horizontally to the right, April to September goes vertically then October to December go horizontally left. There's a slight curve at the corners.

Namechangeme87 · 02/01/2021 18:15

Straight line !

Namechangeme87 · 02/01/2021 18:15

Also did you post this this time last year ?! 😅

Maybe83 · 02/01/2021 18:17

From left to right in a straight line.

DownWhichOfLate · 02/01/2021 18:19

Mine is exactly the same as yours! How odd.

Imissmoominmama · 02/01/2021 18:20

I visualise it in terms of activities; I don’t picture it written down.

Doublechins · 02/01/2021 18:21

Straight line with December at the top and January at the bottom

PivotPivotPivottt · 02/01/2021 18:21

Straight line but backwards

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/01/2021 18:22

Thank you for this! I’ve tried to talk about this before but always end up sounding mad. Mine is very similar to yours except it’s kind of a moving disk/frisbee shaped situation rather than a circle. August is also big on mine, but I’m standing at whatever month it is looking round the edge of the disk.

youlittlecharmer · 02/01/2021 18:24

Mine is like yours but the other way around - summer is at the top and winter at the bottom. Like a clock face!

PivotPivotPivottt · 02/01/2021 18:24

@PivotPivotPivottt

Straight line but backwards
But each month is split into columns
IfTheSockFits · 02/01/2021 18:25

From left to right in a slight arc, like a flattened rainbow. Mainly due to the growing seasons. And kind of coloured, but I couldn't explain how Grin

wlwodjdpk · 02/01/2021 18:25

Mine is a circle but starts with Sept at the top, from Sept down to Dec one side and then the rest of the months up the other side. I have been or have worked in education most of my life so the new year always starts in Sept in my mind.

LongIslandIcedT · 02/01/2021 18:26

No, vertical straight line, top to bottom with current month enlarged.

YakkityYakYakYak · 02/01/2021 18:26

I visualise it as a circle too, but clockwise instead of anti-clockwise like yours.

ExpensivelyDecorated · 02/01/2021 18:27

I don't really visualise it but if I did it would be a straight line going away from me.

cate16 · 02/01/2021 18:27

How about like this...

TidyDancer · 02/01/2021 18:28

Omg I'm glad someone else does this too. Mine is different and goes in a line but the concept is the same.

January to March is low on the line, April is a peak which slides down to June. June/July is another peak, then August slides down. September peaks then slides all the way to December which is lower than January but then the line starts again.

I'm explaining it badly but basically I get it OP!

LtGreggs · 02/01/2021 18:28

Mine is like yours but a mirror image

PivotPivotPivottt · 02/01/2021 18:29

But neater Grin and the image in my head is dark.

It was a revelation when a friend mentioned she sees the year as a circle and didn’t realise other people didn’t. Now love finding out how others visualise things. I ‘see’ some things but not others.

bibbidybobbidyboo · 02/01/2021 18:30

I visualise it like yours OP! Apparently it's a thing that some people do, google "synesthesia months of the year". This image is one of the top results and it's almost exactly how mine looks!
