So much grey! I’m surprised the grass isn’t grey (Rightmove)

(Not judging the house in any way, just the amount of grey)

I genuinely thought the photos were black and white!

Maybe it was their own 50 shades of grey

Soubriquet · 02/01/2021 17:29

It’s a nice looking house...but I hate the fact there is artificial grass

The house looks too clean

Bobbiepin · 02/01/2021 17:30

I have those bathroom tiles (the rest of the room is blue and white though)

Hailtomyteeth · 02/01/2021 17:30

It's a lot of grey but at that price you could afford to redecorate.

Spidey66 · 02/01/2021 17:32

It's a lovely house....but yes a lot of grey!

Very cheap, although I did have to expand the map cos I had no idea where Ilkstone is. I've clearly been in London too long, wh ere 110k wouldn't buy a dolls house. It would easily be 3 times that price, and that would be in the cheaper areas.

SaturdayAfternoon · 02/01/2021 17:33

It’s not a bad little house, but would cost so junctions redecorate and I’m sure that amount of grey (or any one colour like black or white) is not healthy to live in.

This seems to be standard for anyone buying a house to do up and sell. That flipping grey wood-effect flooring is everywhere, and grey carpet in the bedrooms. We're looking to move and I've seen so many where the first thing we'd do is rip out the brand new flooring and white gloss kitchen and inject a bit of character I to the place.

SaturdayAfternoon · 02/01/2021 17:35

So much to redecorate - don’t know what happened there.

I miss the days of all white to sell - so much easier to paint over.

It’s like modern magnolia it’s vile. Those kitchen tiles are lovely bit screaming for some colour in them! What a waste of that pattern.

SaturdayAfternoon · 02/01/2021 17:36

It seems such a waste to decorate like this for it to be redone straight away. A waste of resources.

So glad you put "Rightmove" in the thread title! My mind boggled initially Blush

SaturdayAfternoon · 02/01/2021 17:38

I like the bathroom!

A small amount of grey is fine - especially with white. And if grey is your thing, then I’m not judging, but this looks like it’s been decorated to sell.

Not a fan of the grey wood floor, but otherwise it's beautifully done. My terrace is also done out in a lot of grey, its bright but warmer and less clinical than white. Its clearly been done up to flip so they have kept in neutral.

I know the area and it's priced at the top end of the market so not a huge amount of manoeuvre for making a profit but you wouldn't lose money on it. And as others have mentioned, for £20 you could easily add your own accent colour

NiceGerbil · 02/01/2021 17:39

I find grey cold especially in that amount!

Neptunesgiraffe · 02/01/2021 17:39

It'll be nice with some non grey furniture and accessories. I like grey as a backdrop it makes other colours stand out.

While googling to find out more about ilkeston, I found out about one of it's main attractions....

It's a hole, in a wall, near the Natwest.

Grey as a decoration choice is one thing. Everything painted grey to sell to the point that the pictures look like they’re in black and white (including the outside of the house) is too much. White is clinical, but can easily be painted over. Grey is so hard to change.

Rathmobhaile · 02/01/2021 17:44

It is a lot of grey but I imagined it with a bright sofa and other soft furnishings and it would be very livable.

It’s standard developer bland, isn’t it? Designed to be inoffensive to the widest possible range of tastes.

JorisBonson · 02/01/2021 17:45

Thought I'd gone colourblind looking at that

I mean the colours scheme is fine... BUT why has no one commented on how close the toilet is to the sink!? Also, how do you get into the bath? It looks like it has glass along half the side before the toilet...do you have to climb over the toilet to get into the bath?
