I had blocked out that awful period where they made Simon Mayo co-host with Jo Whiley. It was god awful and didn't work.

Not Dermot for an afternoon slot - he's a better morning presenter. He was terrible on Saturday afternoons.

It's the radio host equivalent of Dad dancing. It's embarrassing to listen to. Him reckoning he's down with the bands / singers he interviews. What a cringe.

He's obviously bored when he goes back to the script.

He did have some good radio content i.e. 'slave to the kitchen' and 'car wars' before that were good. Then they got dropped.

Shame Annie Nightingale isn’t on the radio anymore. I used to live for her Sunday night slot.

I agree about Dermott being so ingratiating, it's so painful to listen to, I often have to turn the sound down. It's the equivalent of hiding behind the sofa as I am so embarrassed for him and his brown nosing.

Annie is still on Radio 1 every Friday 3am to 5am, not that I listen, it's a bit early for me.

I want to say to R2 - just because someone is on the telly and everyone knows who they are does not mean you should hire them as a radio presenter! Joe Wicks is an example of this. In the past they have also inflicted Miranda Hart, Sue Perkins and Davina McCall on us with equally dire results.

Get some talented radio presenters instead, there must be loads of them somewhere.

And if anyone from R2 happens to be listening - use Liza Tarbuck more!!

Sue perkins was a big disappointment... I love her! But she didn’t do well on the radio

6music takeover this year was fabulous, I listened every day and shows how using musicians instead of presenters makes a difference.

Talking of musicians, Jamie Callum is a good presenter. I’m not a big fan of jazz, but used to listen to his programme in the good old days when we took kids to clubs.

Also, like Ritchie the travel presenter.

Not so keen on Lisa Tarbuck’s show on the radio (although don’t dislike her).

I loved Graham's Saturday morning show and am gutted he's gone. I'm not sure I can be bothered to listen to virgin though, so I'm sure I'll get over it

Although I enjoyed Simon mayo, I thought the hate for Jo Wiley was unkind, and I felt like Simon just threw his toys out of the pram when he left.

My favourite R2 prime time stand-ins are Amol Rajan and Angela Scanlon. Amol's really good on the JV show (as is Vanessa feltz actually for the same reason) because I find JV a bit too non-committal when talking to some absolute nutters, whereas Amol and Vanessa will actually pull them up on their insane views.

I miss Terry though, and still love Ken. I don't mind Ritchie at all actually, and I don't think Ken hates him at all, I really can't hear any animosity, just banter.

I heard Cat Deeley on the radio too, and couldn't work out why her voice sounded so different to how she sounds on Strictly, until I realised it was a completely different person

I don't like Amol on the radio. For an Oxbridge grad he is very lacking in general knowledge and his dimness bugs me.

I was a 7am to 7pm R2 listener for 20+ years until Chris Evans left and the Simon Mayo debacle happened at the same time. I could never bear Jo "look at me, I'm mates with all the music stars"Whiley but she was absolutely dreadful on SM and I felt so sorry for him as apparently they are great mates away from radio. I've rarely been back other than on a Saturday morning for Graham and now he's gone to Virgin as well my radio will stayed tuned to there.
Craig Charles, love him and he's fab when he stands in for SW (how is he still on R2? He's got something big on someone in high places !). CC plays great soul music
Vanessa Feltz was awful in a morning but great when she stands in for Jeremy
I always thought Sara Cox should have got the breakfast show and Zoe the afternoon show but I guess that wouldn't fit in with It Takes Two ?
I find Liza Tarbuck patronising somehow. All fake bonhomie.

I'll miss Graham's Saturday show, Saturday has been the best all day-er for a while. Completely agree about the demise of drive time, although I like Sara cox more than I was expecting too, probably because were a similar age and she plays a lot of 80s music. I also agree that Vanessa Feltz is a good stand in for Jeremy Vine, I think she's great at that lunchtime slot. I'm not keen on Liza Tarbuck though, she sounds like she's reading a bad script and I don't find her funny at all, I often wonder why she's on the radio.

Why does Graham Norton need more money though?
