For me

  • I park in parent and child spaces when I have my kids with me. I don't make my life harder by parking in a tiny normal space just in case that childless bloke in the Porsche 911 who runs into Asda like Linford Christie might have a better reason for it than me
  • if I have a bad experience I complain. If I find my £40 steak swimming in fat with a pube in it, I don't refrain from saying anything just in case the chef has had a bad day.
  • I go to the supermarket during the pandemic, I don't leave shaking and sobbing and riddled with guilt over it because I bought a Galaxy. I even take my kids with me.
  • I don't "seethe" if, when the secret Santa budget is £5, I get a Bayliss and Harding gift set. I accept that £5 means limited options and I say thanks, move on and don't take it as a personal alight for years to come. I don't have the hump becauSe they didn't personally whittle a keyring from wood in the oak tree that tenderly grows in their back garden

What makes you unmumsnetty?

I really like my Hunter wellies.
I enjoy a bar of Cadbury chocolate and was a little underwhelmed by Tony's.
I use my dryer dailyBlush
I also like a nice reed diffuser.
Babyliss and Harding soap is really nice.

Pebbledashery · 01/01/2021 14:08

Also.. I wouldn't have an affair with a married man.. And more importantly.. Post on mumsnet and expect constructive sympathetic comments..

Bunnybigears · 01/01/2021 14:08

I let my 13 year old DS 'hang about' the streets AND we live in a city not a very quiet rural village where nothing ever happens.

I ask people to take their shoes off when they come in to my house.

Ninkanink · 01/01/2021 14:09

I do wash my legs and feet in the shower. Maybe that cancels out the toilet brush?

Nousernamesleftatall · 01/01/2021 14:09

I am not terrified of Covid.

I am worried about the damage being done to our economy.

I am worried about the ease our civil liberties have been taken away.

FairyontopofthetreeBatman · 01/01/2021 14:09

I don’t care if you could have or could of, and I will boldly go wherever I please!

I don't have any toxic siblings, parents etc
I have an on trend grey living room with a crushed velvet grey sofa
I wouldn't block/delete someone just because they left me on read
I drink instant coffee
I don't have a cat
I buy tonnes of fast fashion and plastic tat

Meepmeeep · 01/01/2021 14:09

I hate the stupid abbreviations on here D anything makes me cringe.

georgiams · 01/01/2021 14:10

I really like my mother in law and spending time with her. If I'm allowed to call her that as we're not married and don't intend to (I'm ready for all the comments of how vulnerable that makes me)! We're also not "high earners think 3 figure salaries" but still manage perfectly fine.

WhatTheFoot · 01/01/2021 14:11

@Spied I didn't know Hunter wellies were frowned upon?! I knew pandora bracelets are but not Hunters..I have both.

Ninkanink · 01/01/2021 14:11

Yes.
OhToBeASeahorse · 01/01/2021 14:13

I have a toilet brush

I think some level of expectation around gifts is completely normal and not a sign that someone is a self absorbed narcissist

I think when someone is a rude twat 90% of the time it is because they are a rude twat - not because they have anxiety, depression or dementia

I had a small wedding and wished i could have had a big one. I don't think my marriage is more worthy because of the size of my wedding.

I dont have a parenting ethos, I cant say 'what I always did', I plunder through parenting one day at a time praying it will get better!

NuniaBeeswax · 01/01/2021 14:13

I'm fat and working class.

I wear shoes indoors
I change bedding when it starts recoiling when I get in
I don't get upset if someone is rude to me, just move on
A chicken lasts one meal

ShipshapeShore · 01/01/2021 14:17

I like weddings too - any weddings! I was surprised that so many people roll their eyes and see them as something to be endured or avoided. A day out in a new dress and food made for me, all good in my book. I even happily give cash for the present!

I use my toilet brush with gay abandon too.

Moonbabyskalimba · 01/01/2021 14:17
  • I'm actually debating moving house when the time comes so that my DS DOESN'T go to a single sex grammar school
  • I did a Christmas Eve box AND matching family pyjamas AND my DS had more than 4 christmas presents
  • I don't wash my towels/change my bedding every other day
Atalune · 01/01/2021 14:18

I can’t get worked up about people breaking the Covid rules.

I like my husband he is my best friend.

My teeth never itch.

Bunnybigears · 01/01/2021 14:18

Also despite living in a city my children, one of them still at primary school are allowed out after dark!!!

firstimemamma · 01/01/2021 14:20

I had a nice proposal complete with engagement ring and will be changing my name when the time comes. I truly am a helpless victim of the patriarchy with no mind of my own and doomed to be owned like an object!

inneedofaholiday · 01/01/2021 14:22

I live in ‘stabby’ Croydon and have no idea what ‘naice’ means.

BillMasen · 01/01/2021 14:22
