Yoga with Adriene 30 days of yoga

Is anyone going to be doing Adriene’s 30 days of yoga in January? The theme this year is breath. I did this last year and really loved it. I didn’t manage it every day so it took me til February but I am really pleased I did it and have been doing regular yoga ever since.

Hello can I join the thread please? I used to go to real life yoga once a week pre covid and I've really missed it but not been disciplined enough to do it at home until now. Have been doing most days, am slightly behind the actual month.

I like Adriene but really miss my usual teacher so its a bit bitter sweet. Anyway am about to do day 15.

hohohopeless · 18/01/2021 09:16

I'm doing this one.

Love her videos, such a soothing voice and she's not too serious.

PumpkinWitch · 18/01/2021 09:58

*MoiraNotRuby*I have just done day 15 too so we are officially half way. I liked the leg baby. I love that Adriene has a sense of humour.

JustNotFunAnymore I have done Cosmic kids yoga with him. I love it. He ended up toddling off and leaving me to do it by myself. Grin

PumpkinWitch, I loved the arm babies too! I might do day 16 later on depending how my day goes. Wasn't really feeling in a yoga mood at the start and struggled to keep up a little. Then decided just to do it one breath behind and it was much better.

PumpkinWitch · 19/01/2021 13:45

I have just done day 16 which was lovely. I think my (previously non existent ) stomach are waking up. I might do day 17 before bed to see if I can catch up a bit. How is everyone getting on.

Hiya - I've been doing them daily, and up until yesterday enjoyed and got on quite well. But I just couldn't do explore properly. Think my arms and legs were just feeling it a bit really- I did it after work (I'm a cleaner) and had a bit of a heavy work load yesterday so maybe that didn't help. Hopefully today's one will feel easier.

gerbo · 20/01/2021 11:01

Did anyone do day 18, centre, yet? I found the balance on the toes impossible but enjoyed the rest.

VenusStarr · 20/01/2021 15:00

I'm quite behind, only on day 13 today. I do feel stronger in my planks and moving between poses, quite surprised as not doing it daily. Still enjoying it though ☺️

Bakedpotatoandgin · 20/01/2021 15:16

Hello, can I join?
I balanced on my toes on day 18 which I was really really pleased with since I'm dyspraxic and never used to be able to tippytoe at all. Day 19's "floating" on hands was impossible though! I've been doing yoga on and off irl for a few years, but I can see a definite improvement with daily practice.

hohohopeless · 20/01/2021 15:30

I loved day 18 (yesterday)

Felt like a lot of good movement which was manageable yet a little more strenuous than previous days.

I balanced on my toes, couldn't quite get the crow pose though. Yet 😉

PumpkinWitch · 21/01/2021 15:17

Bakedpotatoandgin I am also dyspraxic. I have been doing yoga for years and I am crap at the balances but I am getting better now.
I have just done day 19 and I am feeling it in my muscles. I do hope I am building strength.

I think it does help improve our balance over time. Whenever I see an FB or MN post asking about exercise for dyspraxics I'm always recommending yoga
thebabessavedme · 21/01/2021 23:52

Well, I felt todays went really well Smile I really am beginning to feel a change, I still struggle to sit cross legged for too long but it is getting better, I feel like my stomach muscles are being used and my leg muscles feel firmer, I like the routine of having something to aim for everyday and I plan to keep on going with the next round after this one has finished.

love in, love out! Grin

ps, I have been able to do my 'pointes' since I was 4, am now 58! go me!

gerbo · 22/01/2021 14:37

I enjoyed 'Pause' - it felt good to just breathe deep and relax and let muscles rest a little.
Wonder what's coming today?!

PumpkinWitch · 22/01/2021 20:37

I have just done Pause. It was lovely to have a nice easy day. I think my muscles are feeling it a bit so it gave me the chance to recover.

I've just done 19 and 20 in a row, they are both not too long and as 20 was called Pause I decided it would be quite gentle. It was really good, feel all chilled now.

Anyone who hasn't done 20 yet, it includes a hand massage and if you have nice hand cream, use it, you don't need grippy hands later!

Hollybutnoivy · 22/01/2021 20:43

I just did Day 17 and found it really hard and quite unpleasant. Confused Maybe yoga isn't for me.

Bakedpotatoandgin · 22/01/2021 21:14

Quite liked Day 21 today, it was short but fairly fast paced so I got a bit sweaty which was good

I can't remember what day 17 was about, but some days are definitely more enjoyable than others.
PumpkinWitch · 23/01/2021 08:27

I think day 17 was a more challenging one so don’t feel bad about it. Some of the ones coming up are a bit easier because she has pushed you and wants to give you the chance to recover.

LemonDrizzles · 23/01/2021 18:29

I did her beginners yoga this week and loved it. Does she have a playlist for beginners yoga for people who can only do it once or twice a week?

gerbo · 24/01/2021 09:24

LemonDrizzles, can I ask what beginners programme you did??

And can anyone recommend another programme by her for when 30 days ends? I've heard 'foundations of yoga' is good...

PumpkinWitch · 24/01/2021 11:57

She has a series called yoga for complete beginners (if you search Adriene yoga for beginners you should find lots of videos).

I enjoyed day 21 last night but I think she went very fast. I am feeling the benefit of doing it every day so I am going to start back at the beginning at the end of the 30 days. Then I will see how easy I find it a second time round.

I’m reading this and getting jealous of you all!

My muscles don’t hurt at all. I really wanted to come out of this feeling great Confused

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 24/01/2021 13:32

I've really noticed an improvement - did day 22 yesterday. So much more flexibility. I love the breathing too, it's so calming.
