Is anyone going to be doing Adriene’s 30 days of yoga in January? The theme this year is breath. I did this last year and really loved it. I didn’t manage it every day so it took me til February but I am really pleased I did it and have been doing regular yoga ever since.

I enjoyed day three. I really need to get out of bed twenty minutes earlier to make it work for me but I didn't sleep well at all last night Sad

@PumpkinWitch

I find the breath focus so calming. I am going to try snd do tomorrow’s first thing in the morning as I am always shattered by bedtime.
I do it first thing and it really energises me and helps me focus on sticking to my heathy eating plan x

I found day 4 a lot better. But then maybe I was in a better mood when I started. Looking forward to day 5 this evening once DD is in bed.

Just started this and catching up. It seems good so far.

Really enjoyed today's session. Loving it so far. I have done a bit of yoga but I'm a very stiff runner so find it really helpful.

jess3817 · 06/01/2021 19:55

@thebabessavedme 😂😂😂 that's so funny. I've said similar to the kids recently.
Day 5 done and I found it a tough one but also really good. Definitely felt the effects of all the yoga when I ran earlier today too. My rib area is quite tender but I guess that's a good thing.

CleanQueen123 · 06/01/2021 20:14

Loved day 5. It was really good to learn some new poses. They were tough but surprised myself with how well I coped with them. Definitely feel replenished Smile

ladybranstonpickle · 06/01/2021 20:36

I loved day 5! The downward dog twist felt amazing, and I'm impressed with myself on how I was able to hold the poses. I'm trying very hard to always take the hard option, even when it's really tough.

teawamutu · 06/01/2021 21:48

Just finished Day 5 - my favourite so far, I think.

Loved the pace, just the right mix of challenge and time to focus on the movement.

JustNotFunAnymore · 07/01/2021 07:02

Another bad nights sleep so it's 7am and I'm just about to get up. I really need to wake up with my alarm!

speakout · 07/01/2021 07:06

I enjoyed day 5, a bit shorter and faster.

Just about to tackle day 6.

JustNotFunAnymore · 07/01/2021 08:16

day four was so fast I didn't realise it was the end at first.

I started off well and was distracted out of my calm by the dog throwing up on the rug!

thebabessavedme · 07/01/2021 10:02

I can feel my muscles are being used and I'm really enjoying it, I like the routine of my morning starting like this BUT, am I the only person in the world who wobbles and shakes and cant touch her toes? I am so not bendy.

thebabessavedme · 07/01/2021 10:03

Oh and I got distracted by noticing loads of fluff under the sofa, better than dog puke on the rug though Grin

PumpkinWitch · 07/01/2021 10:08

I also loved day 5 and feel better for doing it first thing in the morning. I did surprisingly well at the downward dog twists and managed to keep my leg a bit straighter in 3 legged dog.

I found it very dull. Switched off and did a Kassandra one this morning.

I have loved some of Adriene's previous 30 day courses, I may start one of those again.

qwertyuiop098 · 07/01/2021 10:38

Yesterday's was intense! Some of that twisting made me feel a bit sick.

Iamblossom · 07/01/2021 10:41

I did her 30 day programme twice through last year.

I do like her, but have found Sarah Beth, who talks less, which I prefer.

I tend to do a search on You Tube based on the amount of time I want to do it for and choose one to mix it up a bit. There are zillions. Also quite like Cat Meffan.

Iamblossom · 07/01/2021 10:44

Agree with PP that I don't like the last day when she says do what you like, I prefer to follow cues.

Defo not! I have no balance at all! I can't pull my knees up and wrap my arms around them, my belly gets in the way. When she tucks her chin into her chest my chins get in the way!!
thebabessavedme · 07/01/2021 19:22

@JustNotFunAnymore, my belly gets in the way too, as does my chest and chins, I also seem to get my breathing the wrong way round, by the time I have worked out when I should be exhaling/breathing in, she has moved on to the next bit.

Right now my arms feel very heavy and sore but I'm looking forward to the next lesson.

CleanQueen123 · 07/01/2021 21:00

That fire breathing thing was the work of the devil! And also highlighted how poor my sense of rhythm is Blush every time I thought I'd worked it out I realised I was doing totally the opposite of what I should have been Hmm

Definitely felt the burn today! My back wasn't having any of the low boat to crunch movement so I had to stay in the low boat until she moved on to low boat with arm twist thing. Really must learn the proper yoga pose words...

VenusStarr · 07/01/2021 21:13

Today's was hard. I got dh to do it with me and he kept distracting me and was laughing at my fire breathing! 😂

JustNotFunAnymore · 08/01/2021 08:00

I did day four and five yesterday so I did six just now. Hated the fire breathing. It made me feel like I feel when I'm having a panic attack.
Honestly finished that one feeling a bit defeated. I could have tried harder I guess but it was tough. I did do the beginnings and the ends but struggled and stopped or did half of it.
Meh.

thebabessavedme · 08/01/2021 09:49

so glad I am not the only one who struggled, that low boat was a low point in my view.

still, off to do today with hope in my heart Smile
