Yoga with Adriene 30 days of yoga

Is anyone going to be doing Adriene’s 30 days of yoga in January? The theme this year is breath. I did this last year and really loved it. I didn’t manage it every day so it took me til February but I am really pleased I did it and have been doing regular yoga ever since.

@VenusStarr

I've missed a couple of days but did day 9 this morning, still enjoying it but need to carve out a time slot to do it.
I do it every morning just before the older kids get up. The youngest sits having his breakfast whilst I do it.

I noticed this morning that I was a lttle more bendy, little being the word but an improvement at any rate.

Every little helps 😂 by the end of the day I'm seizing up 😂

I am up to day 11 now.

I managed to keep my leg (nearly) straight in three legged dog. That is massive progress for me. I can get my head on the floor during pidgeon pose as well (but my massive boobs do get in the way a bit).

Day 12 done. Managed almost all of it by breathing like I did when I was in labour 😂
I know long term this will help my back but it's aching so much at the moment. Think I'm going to have to spend some time before it starts doing cow (?) and cat (?) and then again afterwards.
How's everyone else?
@PumpkinWitch how are you?

gerbo · 14/01/2021 07:35

I've hurt myself!

I've done every day so far and did yesterday's class at 530pm. By 9/10 by arm was very sore in one spot in the upper arm, hurts to lift it. Perhaps too much downward dog?!

Think I'll have to rest it today, too punchy and painful. Anyone else pulled a muscle?

Don't think I was slow and careful enough yesterday.

Not pulled (yet) but I'm pretty sore all over!! Hope it recovers soon. Just do what you can. Xx

ha, that pigeon pose!, I think I looked more like a duck after being run over.

I filmed myself doing the one legged balance thing from the other day to show a friend my progress. Let's just say I look a lot better doing it in my head then in real life 😂

Today was ok, in the end, the weird pinchy pain in my arm had gone by mid afternoon. Enjoyed the yoga, I investigated Foundations in Yoga too and think I'll try that next.

PumpkinWitch · 14/01/2021 21:17

JustNotFunAnyMore I am doing ok thank you. My granny’s funeral is tomorrow and I am with my mum and dad (I am allowed in the rules).

I am up to day 12 and I am starting to feel it in my arms. I think it is building my muscles.
LOL at the duck that has been run over. I think the benefit of doing yoga at home is that if you look silly there is no one there to see it.

I'm glad you're with your parents for support. Hope it goes as well as it can xx
thebabessavedme · 14/01/2021 23:44

@PumpkinWitch, sending love for tomorrow.

JustNotFunAnymore · 15/01/2021 07:37

Woke up feeling readily dizzy. Feel fine in myself but just a little off centre if that makes sense?
I'm so frustrated as this is normally the time I'd be mid way through the session and I'm having to leave it until tonight. Sad

PumpkinWitch · 16/01/2021 14:29

Thank you. I think we have her as good a funeral as we could in the circumstances.

I did day 13 after I had a glass of wine last night so probably didn’t get the best out of it but I managed anyway. I tried to do day 14 just now and got climbed on by a grumpy toddler. Will try again when he is in bed. 🤣

I've given up the past two days. I've felt to dizzy. I'll be back on it tomorrow.

Just done day 10. Trying not to beat myself up that I am behind on the days. My tree was a very wobbly one just now but overall I think I may be feeling the benefits.

teawamutu · 16/01/2021 19:41

Did day 15 today, really liked the movement sequence. Was after a run though, so I was knackered!

VenusStarr · 17/01/2021 09:16

I did day 10 yesterday too @2orangey, I'm the same, trying not to be hard on myself for not being able to do it every day :)

2orangey · 17/01/2021 09:51

@venusStarr yes we are still doing well just at our own pace! It is still more yoga than I was doing last year.

Doing it at your own pace is fine. Last year I only did about 3-4 a week and finished about the middle of February but it was good for me.
I have abandoned a second attempt at day 14 as I had a toddler underneath me when I was doing downward dog. He was also doing his own downward dog so someone learned something from the experience.

I am doing 6 days then a 'rest day' Hmm as dh calls it, he is very sporty and said that I should proberbly have 1 day off a week as my tummy was really hurting, think I have strained my muscles a bit. Back on it today though and then out for walk as I think my steps count was in the region of 10 yesterday Blush

thebabessavedme · 17/01/2021 11:06

@PumpkinWitch, my dgs did baby yoga at nursary, he looked adorable but I was sooooo amazed at how good he was, the poise and balance he has is fantastic, I know kids are naturally bendy but he is something else, he is 5 now and still does yoga with mummy.

My son has been doing cosmic yoga and loves it!
