Yoga with Adriene 30 days of yoga

Is anyone going to be doing Adriene’s 30 days of yoga in January? The theme this year is breath. I did this last year and really loved it. I didn’t manage it every day so it took me til February but I am really pleased I did it and have been doing regular yoga ever since.

Checking in having ✅ day 2 last night. Wrists definitely needed that circling after the long time spent on plank and downward dog. I tried really hard to keep going with the plank beyond where I would usually move into a half plank.

I really would like to do it in the morning but scared of waking my baby up!

Doing a fast day today as well! It's a proper January here 😝.

You can do it anytime all the past years are up. Last year I didn’t finish til February. It is free on YouTube but you can sign up for an email which is also free.

You can do any time and no subscription. Just look it up on you tube.

I tried day 3 but arsed it up (no sleep, doing it in a rush on no food directly after a hiit session). Got to 25 mins in and was shaking like a mad thing so stopped as I thought I was going to faint.

Ah well, tomorrow is another day and I did most of this one.

Did day 3 a little while ago. Really enjoyed it- tried to get into the whole breathing thing but a bit difficult today with 4 kids popping in and out the room while I'm doing it😂😂 would mind but 2 of them are 12 and 14 lol.

Yep, I did. I think the breathing section at the beginning is making a difference - v absorbing and you're not thinking 'aw god how long am I going to have to hold this pose?' Grin

I started yesterday, I've never really done yoga but I've been running for a year now and I'm constantly told I need to do something else to to be strong so giving yoga a go. I really enjoyed it and hope to continue, although school closures might balls it up a bit, I definitely didnt get the quiet space I wanted for it

Yes, but I've got a couple of toes which didn't heal right after being broken a few years ago, so the sitting back pose is never going to be my best thing.

Did anyone else find day 2 a bit hard to follow? I lost what I was doing in the middle because I couldn't find the instruction in her constant chatter. All that "dial it down/back" nonsense. By the time my brain caught up with what she said she'd already moved on to another position.

I will accept I came to the mat in not a very good mood though so I'm prepared to be told IABU Grin

I've just done it and the middle bit I found too fast to follow. By the time I had figured out one part she had moved on. Lost my motivation a bit now. I'll keep on going but I felt stupid for most of that one Blush

I did some of day two the wrong way round left side rather than right (which does matter as you can just do the other side next) but I cannot do 3 legged dog I hope I will be able to after the 30 days but who knows.

I realised yesterday I can now lower myself from plank to the ground, rather than bellyflopping and faceplanting. V proud. Keep going!

Day 4 ✅! This went really fast. I think starting with savasana (laying down pose) helped with my focus. Taking the time to truly 'arrive', it it were.

I've been doing it every day before work, didn't help that my DH is now alaska WFH ask decided to come in and start working whilst I was half way through today's session 🙄
I found my ribs were quite sore from the plans after day 2

I really enjoyed her 30 day one called Home that she released a few years ago or the one called True. Incase anyone wants another suggestion.

I fractured my vertebrae July 2019 and its been fucked ever since, I find her videos have helped so much to tide me over between osteopath appointments.

I have done day 3 today, really enjoying it but I wish I could switch off a bit more to outside influences, Dh, (wfh Hmm) will now never let me live down my shouting at him to 'fuck off you are ruining my zen' when he came in and started omming at me Grin
