@Sup1979

Majority

Years - reception to year 10 and year 12 - that’s the majority, surely?! Grin

No, in England, years 11 and 13 are returning on the 11th (a week late) and other secondary years will be returning on the 18th.

No, it's reception to y6 in the majority of primary schools, a list of those not opening will be published soon, plus y11 and y13 in secondary schools

The phrase "remain closed" does seem to be at odds with what you claimed, OP

Secondary schools across most of England are to remain closed for an extra two weeks for most pupils, to help regain control of coronavirus.

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson told the Commons that exam-year pupils would return a week earlier than their schoolmates in the week of 11 January.

And in a small number of areas with the highest infection rates, primaries will remain closed temporarily.

So hang on, am I missing a bit here? What's happening with exam years in 'contingency' areas?

Blimey OP I can't believe you came back to say 'I told you so'. I heard the same interview and your original title was ridiculously misleading.
