You believe what Hancock has announced on a radio show? No wonder this country is in a mess.

Anything important is still being argued about and will be announced by downing street at the last minute.

UpShutTheFuck · 30/12/2020 10:14

OP you are deluding yourself if you think this is what he said and you should be ashamed of yourself for a thread title that bears no resemblance to the truth.

MacDuffsMuff · 30/12/2020 10:20

Hancock just confirmed live on LBC schools NOT closing!!!

I heard the interview. This is absolutely not what he said OP, why would you post this?

itsgettingweird · 30/12/2020 10:21

It's fairly well hinted that Williamson and Hancock have opposing views re schools opening

So I'm not surprised he doesn't make announcements and says Williamson will.

Crunchymum · 30/12/2020 10:33

I have zero faith in what is said by any member of this government at any given time.

He may not be announcing more tiers today (maybe BJ will announce this? or MH will announce new tiers tomorrow)

Schools are not closing but maybe they will "move to online learning" for a few weeks or have a short term "circuit breaker"

The way things are phrased is very deliberate and intentional.

doctorhamster · 30/12/2020 12:10

This thread is a prime example of why so many people get confused about what's going on.

Sup1979 · 30/12/2020 16:45

Well!!

No more tiers
And schools are going back

When I said no more tiers
I clarified following the post
To mean no tier 5

FabbyMagic · 30/12/2020 16:47

Err no many schools will be delayed going back?

I don’t think people thought they were going to keep them shut indefinitely?

Plonque · 30/12/2020 16:52

I think you've reinvented "what you really meant" cos you've been proved wrong!

My area (and damn near everyone else's) has moved up a tier and I've just had an email from my school announcing that they are delaying returning, so that's two big ❌❌ on what you are claiming.

No more tiers - correct

Majority of Years going back 04/01 (whoops, secondary going back.... two weeks later) - correct

You do know he’s no longer involved in gov having been kicked out, don’t you? So a weird and irrelevant reference

That’s “going back”!

If that's what you mean by going back, then at what point were they not going back?

Hercules12 · 30/12/2020 17:07

I'm embarrassed for you, Op. I heard lbc this morning and you really didn't understand what was said. At least have the grace to admit it. Its worse that you're trying to say you were right!

Sup1979 · 30/12/2020 17:07

It’s unbelievable

It’s as though so many mumsnetters actively want bad news.

Are there more tiers?

Ate the majority of schools going back on date always planned?

OP posts:
Orcadianrythyms · 30/12/2020 17:08

Ha ha ha OP you crack me up. Thanks for the laughs.

Sup1979 · 30/12/2020 17:10

@Orcadianrythyms

Ha ha ha OP you crack me up. Thanks for the laughs.
Please genuinely please elaborate

No more tiers - are there??

School going back - aren’t they??

OP posts:
Sup1979 · 30/12/2020 17:12

Genuinely perplexed

Because that’s what I reported in my op
And having heard the conference - that’s happening

OP posts:
FabbyMagic · 30/12/2020 17:17

Boris saying the return might be delayed in worst areas now as well

Orcadianrythyms · 30/12/2020 17:21

Because you've spent all day spinning your earlier misunderstanding into an 'See I'm right...I'm still right......I'm so right' fandango.
Because you cannot seriously believe that DC et al aren't still pulling the strings with this bunch of clowns.
Because your idea of the word 'majority' (of schools) is absurd.

If you want to be positive, support the science and not the spin.

Hope that helps @Sup1979

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 30/12/2020 17:24

Your claim was that 'schools are going back' The truth is that most, but not all, primary schools are going back. Secondary schools and colleges are not going back.
You lacked specific detail in your original post which lead to misunderstanding.

Sup1979 · 30/12/2020 17:27

Majority

Years - reception to year 10 and year 12 - that’s the majority, surely?! Grin
