Mine won't. But it's up to you

itssquidstella · 26/12/2020 19:32

Never.

wonkylegs · 26/12/2020 19:33

Within my kids friends it seems to vary from 5upwards to never
We're in the never group but we don't have TVs in bedrooms for anyone.

Gonkytonk · 26/12/2020 19:34

DD got one when she was in year 7. Barely used it. Had us take it out in year 9 as she didn’t want it in there! Confused

EagleFlight · 26/12/2020 19:35

Surely they just have tablets these days?

We don’t have one in any bedroom though and no intention to change that.

dingledongle · 26/12/2020 19:36

Mine are 13 and 16, no TV's in their rooms.

We tend to watch films together or agree on programs.

Both kids have smart phones and watch video's on these but do not use them in their rooms.

We have a spare TV in our room
which is never used. I have asked both kids if they want it in their room both said no 🤷‍♀️

This arrangement works for us Wink

shamus2020 · 26/12/2020 19:37

Dd6 has one but she barely watches it. If she wakes up extra earlier she'll put it on until I wake up and get her up. (She's not aloud downstairs in her own)

mummymayhem18 · 26/12/2020 19:37

It's entirely up to you when and if to get one. My daughter uses hers (she's 14) for Netflix,Xbox etc. She's had it about 5 years .

OverTheRainbow88 · 26/12/2020 19:38

Never, I never did as a child, me and OH don’t have one in our room either. Just one in the house

missmouse101 · 26/12/2020 19:39

Never. Why go down that route? Anyway, kids hardly watch TV now. They are on tablets.

MispyM · 26/12/2020 19:41

Never. But they do need a computer for school fairly early on, afaik. Which is basically the same as a TV nowadays....

Scissor · 26/12/2020 19:43

Never, agree have tech anyway.. Boyfriends/Girlfriends stay after A-Levels... Just to save you the next query 👍

Wolfiefan · 26/12/2020 19:43

They don’t.

funfunfunfunfun · 26/12/2020 19:44

My 9 year has a tv in his room for gaming.

1926joycedoris · 26/12/2020 19:44

Never

EwwSprouts · 26/12/2020 19:45

Never. Lots of research about importance of healthy sleeping habits in teens. But we do have 2 tvs downstairs so we don't all have to agree on what to watch all the time.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 26/12/2020 19:45

No TVs in bedrooms here.

ASimpleLobsterHat · 26/12/2020 19:45

Never in this house, and we don’t have one in our room either.

Ruddyfedup · 26/12/2020 19:46

DS7 has had one for a few years, its only used in the morning to watch his programmes until we get up as he wakes up about an hour before everyone else

SlothWithACloth · 26/12/2020 19:46

Sometimes they have their laptop in their rooms and watch Netflix but they’re not having a tv in their bedroom.

RosesAndHellebores · 26/12/2020 19:48

Never.

funfunfunfunfun · 26/12/2020 19:49

All these people saying they don't have TVs in bedrooms is bollocks. Most kids these days like to play games and need a tv. I'd say 95% of my children's friends have TVs in bedrooms. I have one in mine and love watching films in bed or watching a film on a weekend morning with the kids.

Must be another fake Mumsnet thing 🙄.

daisypond · 26/12/2020 19:50

Never. We only have one TV and it’s in the living room.
