@Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies I've been to the Seychelles and it was boring tbh

RedRec · 26/12/2020 10:28

Orange juice has to be Tropicana, crisps have to be Walkers, butter has to be Lurpak.

chaosisaladder · 26/12/2020 10:30

I think surf n turfs are the most disgusting thing ever and that people who eat them are gluttonous and gross (says gluttonous and gross like I’m not currently pregnant and MASSIVE due to a food fixation Grin)

chaosisaladder · 26/12/2020 10:42

Okay and I’m coming back and adding that I’m too good for a carvery too Grin queuing for my food? Helping MYSELF? To cheap meat in a shitty little corporate chain? YACK Grin

Bluesheep8 · 26/12/2020 10:52

Good manners.

lifestooshort123 · 26/12/2020 10:56

Parents who let their children disturb others in restaurants - if they can't keep their bums on the seat, eat tidily and keep the noise level down then take them to a fast food place until they can. It's to do with respect for others.

caringcarer · 26/12/2020 10:56

Xmas tree decorations, they must be hand blown glass or they are not going on my Xmas tree. I buy 2 new ones every year and now have a Fabulous collection.

Cam2020 · 26/12/2020 10:58

Books (I can't stand chick lit) or similarly crappy celeb magazines. I despaired of women I knew who were 'team Ange' or 'team Jen' back in the day.

Fake nails, orange foundation or Ronsil grade fake tan, hair extensions, trout pouts.

Cam2020 · 26/12/2020 11:01

Oh, and 'restaurants' where diners wear bibs. Vomit inducing.

FluffyHippo · 26/12/2020 11:03

RoastedPudding, I've got four degrees including a PhD and I hate people who choose to be wilfully ignorant - people who don't think about things, people who don't question anything and people who choose to believe the crap on Twitter and Facebook.

Intelligence isn't a matter of opportunity, it's a matter of attitude and, yes, I really look down on people who choose to be stupid.

Using a knife and fork to eat Christmas lunch. Photos all over Facebook of children/teens eating their lunch with just a fork.

formerbabe · 26/12/2020 11:05

Drinking out of cans in the street...whether it's an alcoholic drink or a soft drink..so common.

Cecily42 · 26/12/2020 11:06

Bread! Has to be home made or from a good bakery.

AgeLikeWine · 26/12/2020 11:09

I don’t accept that preferring good quality food & drink to inferior alternatives makes you a ‘snob’.

I drink real coffee because it tastes much better than instant, not because I’m a snob.

I eat real butter because it tastes much better than margarine, not because I’m a snob.

I drink real Czech Budvar because it tastes much better than American Budweiser, not because I’m a snob.

@Fizbosshoes

Lax personal hygiene: a daily shower is a must

Can you instantly tell from people you meet if they had a shower that day?

Probably not but that's not my point. Lack of manners like using the wrong cutlery doesn't create an issue either, really, but it's the principle that counts. Wanting to be clean and free of old sweat in this case, even if you don't smell.
bearlyactive · 26/12/2020 11:13

Hot chocolate - hate it made with water, and hate it made with gritty drinking chocolate powder. This is why I only have it in a cafe, although I have just invested in a Velvetiser in a sale...

QueenPawPaws · 26/12/2020 11:14

Perfume. Some clothing brands. Bedding (high thread count). Towels (thick and sumptuous only please!)

Squiffany · 26/12/2020 11:19

Coffee

roastedpudding · 26/12/2020 11:19

I really look down on people who choose to be stupid.

How do you know it's a choice and not a matter of circumstance though? Not everybody has been brought up in homes where education is encouraged and that's through no fault of their own.

(two degrees, a PGCE and an MSc)

GintyMcGinty · 26/12/2020 11:21

I'm not snobby about food or drink.

I am snobby about pj or onesie wearing in public eg in the supermarket 🙄

Ineverpromisedyouarosegarden · 26/12/2020 11:21

Spoons! Soup spoons for soup. Pastry fork for deserts.

Yes I know I should really get a life! Grin

Otherwise really not a snob in general.

GrapeLipBalm · 26/12/2020 11:26

Jams and sausages
