A laptop for £600 , shouldn't have bothered , awful thing.

My Philips lumea. Everyone raves about them on here but it just doesn't work for me, and I get bored. It's too long between uses and i have to start the whole process again. I've decided to give it one last chance and if no improvement to my beard then sell it on eBay

dontgobaconmyheart · 23/12/2020 02:59

The dyson hairdryer. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent hairdryer and does the job fine but is it £250 better than my last one - definitely not. I don't think in all honesty it's much different than my last one at all. If I could get the money back I would tbh.

My exes. They’ve inevitably cost me more than They should Grin

GeorgiaGirl52 · 23/12/2020 05:12

Breadmaker. The week after I got it everyone in the family was on Keto or LoCarb or some other no-bread diet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/12/2020 08:33

White company bedding. Didn’t last and customer services said anything over 6 months was fair wear and tear.

I still buy cotton pyjamas from them, but only in the sale. Oh, and the sleeves on all the dressing gowns bought me from there shrank like you would not believe.

Labobo · 23/12/2020 08:37

@Fluffycloudland77 - I bought a bathrobe in the sale from TWC. It looked shredded within a week. I always thought they were good quality but they seem less sturdy than Primark. Everything I buy from Primark is indestructible.

BibbityBobbityBellend · 23/12/2020 08:39

My Apple Watch.

I do love it but it was £500 and the battery lasts 24 hours if I exercise, which is the whole reason I bought it. I could have got the cheaper one but I wanted to be able to use it as a phone too. I've done it twice in over a year!

Mrgrinch · 23/12/2020 08:41

A pair of designer wellies that I paid £500 for. An complete waste as they split down the back seam at the heel, meaning I can't wear them when it's wet because the water gets in. I now wear a £20 pair.

My house, it’s terrible roof, plumbing, cracking plaster. Despite spending a fortune on it it’s falling down around me.

Timeforabiscuit · 23/12/2020 08:47

A set of 5kg weights and a crash mat bought start of lockdown.

Used a total of one time. Never used the mat.

Ah well there is always New Year!

HelloCanYouHearMe · 23/12/2020 08:47

A car. Built to order with a knackered gearbox that the dealership wanted to fix rather than replace... I couldnt get the car into 1st or reverse.

In the 6 months i owned it, it spent more time in the garage than it did on my drive

gingerbreadfox · 23/12/2020 08:53

My Apple Mac.
I just cannot stand it. After having it and barely using it for years I ended up buying a simple windows laptop - much easier to use for me.

Rainbowandscarlett · 23/12/2020 09:07

An air fryer-£170 (it’s massive)
Used twice-you have to peel spuds, soak them for 45 minutes and it takes another 45 to cook
Then they taste like soap

I can’t seem to cook anything else in it-if I try to cook meat it comes out a soapy, half raw mess

Zeetah · 23/12/2020 09:10

Dualit toaster
Cooked the toast unevenly and broke after a few years. Cheap Tesco one was better!

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 23/12/2020 09:11

Bought a thing that improves your pelvic floor by encouraging you to squeeze it. It was £100+
Used twice.
Pelvic floor improved with yoga.

cactusisblooming · 23/12/2020 09:11

A cordless Dyson. No auction at all and goes flat after half a room.

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 23/12/2020 09:12

Yy to Dualit toasters - they are over designed and shite

Zeetah · 23/12/2020 09:12

Also most recent clothing from Whistles - quality has gone right down. Sold the jogging bottoms I bought on eBay as they were so uncomfy and horrid fabric

cactusisblooming · 23/12/2020 09:12

Totally agree with this, DD had some pyjamas from there last winter (£5.50 for a 2-pack, sustainable cotton) which have lasted and washed so well, no holes or broken stitching - unlike other more expensive brands.

My regrettable expensive purchase was probably my Dyson Airwrap. It’s ok, I don’t hate it or anything, but I can get a better style in my hair using my ancient GHDs. I mainly use it for drying my 3yo DD’s hair with the paddle brush attachment

BrassicaBabe · 23/12/2020 09:15

An antique desk that I can't get my knees under Blush

Did you not contact the company/manufacturer? £500 for wellies and you can’t even use them? That would keep me awake at night
dementedma · 23/12/2020 09:17

A veggi bullet chopper thingy. Its huge, has loads of bits and takes up cupboard space. Been used twice
