What TV shows have you absolutely loved that have been cancelled after one season. Loads for me but 3 that stand out are

Ringer
Flashforward
Away (just heard this has been cancelled which has prompted this thread)

Studio 60 - great Aaron Sorkin show

EasyLifer · 22/12/2020 15:22

I loved Flashforward, The Living and The Dead and Alcatraz I wanted to carry on with all of them.
Does anybody remember The Village? Maxine Peake and John Simm were a poor couple and he was horrible to her and their kids. There was also a rich family in a big house who had a lot of troubles. I think there may have been 2 seasons with more promised but there never were.

@Twizbe

Pan Am. just finished watching that one prime. Shame it didn't get a second series.

Another was High Life. A comedy about Air Scotia. So funny

I had forgotten about Pan Am.

The Fugitive with Tim Daly. Ended right on a cliffhanger!

Oversize · 29/12/2020 21:07

Just finished rewatching Dickensian on iplayer. Bloody criminal to have cancelled it after 1 series.

nocoolnamesleft · 29/12/2020 21:40

Another vote for Forever.

itsgettingaberrylikechristmas · 29/12/2020 22:43

That programme where the girl had been in prison for killing her friend. She came out of prison to live with her parents and tried to make a life for herself. I thought it was a really good series and I hope they make a second one!

AdelaideK · 29/12/2020 22:59

I liked Timeless but it might have been 2 series.

There was a show called Sunnyside about immigrants that I enjoyed that got cancelled.

I also liked Stumptown. I didn't know it had also been cancelled.

midsomermurderess · 29/12/2020 23:12

Indian Summer. I was disappointed that that ended. And The Last Post. Both explorations of colonialism. They stuck me as timely, but these things aren't, well, popular at the moment.

Clevererthanyou · 29/12/2020 23:37

Jericho and Jeremiah

ItsIgginningtolookalotlikeXmas · 29/12/2020 23:39

@itsgettingaberrylikechristmas the British show, the woman became friendly with her next door neighbour? It looked like there was going to be a reveal about what had happened that night, but it never got there!

Ltdannygreen · 29/12/2020 23:49

Flash forward, Alcatraz, the passage

MustardMitt · 29/12/2020 23:50

Mindhunter isn’t cancelled - it’s on hold as they had to release the actors from their recording schedules due to Covid. It might come back.

At least, this is what I tell myself coz I loved it!

247SylviaPlath · 30/12/2020 00:02

Profit - was mid 90’s American show about a psycho businessman - sounds shit in premise but was soooo good...

Davros · 30/12/2020 00:08

Ambassadors with David Mitchell and Robert Webb

mayaknew · 30/12/2020 00:09

Oh I liked timeless too!!

The Air Scotia company song is one of the funniest things ever shown in British TV! Xmas Grin
Hawkins001 · 30/12/2020 00:15

The tomorrow People

V sci-fi with the lady from homeland

Alcatraz, (anyone know the reason for the time traveling inmates ?)

Dark angel

Flashforward

Terminator the scc

Revenge (there ment to be making a spin off with Nolan

The Borgia's

(Some of these had two/three seasons but still needed more for the mythology to be developed further.)

Hawkins001 · 30/12/2020 00:18

When I was younger, the bbc show Aquila.

LimpidPools · 30/12/2020 00:25

Kingdom Hospital. Miniseries developed by Stephen King. Kind of weird, melancholy and unsettling. And apparently I've been cross about its being cancelled for over 15 years now, because it was made in 2004!

I agree about Cuffs. And Casualty 1900, which I really liked.

Avelandra · 30/12/2020 07:55

We’ve just finished watching the family. It was really good but ended on a cliffhanger. Looked for the second series to find it was cancelled so now we will never know what happened!
