What TV shows have you absolutely loved that have been cancelled after one season. Loads for me but 3 that stand out are

High Fidelity, the series. Produced by Zoe Kravitz. I loved it!

Brief Encounters on ITV. Great cast

@andannabegins

Flesh and bone, I think, a series a bout a ballet school on Netflix
Yes I loved that show! Was gutted it was a limited series
hollyandkit · 21/12/2020 21:03

If I had a boy I was so going to call him Caleb!

tutorwho · 21/12/2020 21:10

The Passage was great. It was cancelled too soon.. same for Flashforward

Lurleene · 21/12/2020 21:10

Thank you for that @SuddenArborealStop that was an interesting read. It is a shame they never got to tell the whole story but I guess Kevin McKidd would not have joined Grey's if they had so it worked out well for him in the end!

Same - and Merlyn for a girl! Grin

I agree with Forever with Ioan Gruffudd. I don't get into many TV programmes but loved this.

The Living and The Dead! BBC ghost/paranormal drama set in Victorian era. There was much demand for a second series, lost hope that the BBC are going to make anymore now Sad

It's on Amazon prime.

I keep remembering that and wondering what it was.
clevername · 21/12/2020 21:19

Can't be arsed to read through the whole thread to see if this has already been mentioned but... Messiah on Netflix.
It was so good, I was gutted to hear they weren't going to carry on to a second series.

InterfectoremVulpes · 21/12/2020 21:19

The Lost Room and Reaper

rockingthelook · 21/12/2020 21:23

New Blood, written by Anrthony Horowitz, a pair of asian and polish young detectives, loved it, and it just disappeared...

Grenlei · 21/12/2020 21:23

The one I always think of on threads like this is Ultraviolet, the C4 series with Idris Elba and Jack Davenport. (not to be confused with the Kate Beckinsdale film which is completely unrelated).

22 years on and I am still miffed it never got a second series!

cosmopolitanplease · 21/12/2020 21:28

Reaper ran for two seasons but was very much missed in our household. We never got an ending. 😞

I was really disappointed there wasn't a second series of Eternal Law, the series about angels working as lawyers in York starring Samuel West.

pastabest · 21/12/2020 21:28

Kidnapped.

It was really good, we were gutted when we realised there wouldn't be a second series. I think it and Studio 60 had the same problem at the same time, they were on the cusp between mainstream TV and streaming services and fell between the cracks.

Also enjoyed these.

Mrsmadevans · 21/12/2020 21:32

Boomers, it was fantastic

GoddamReylos · 21/12/2020 21:36

Wonderfalls! Really odd premise but super enjoyable. Would especially recommend if you liked Pushing Daisies. I think the whole series is on YouTube.

PandemicPavolova · 21/12/2020 21:37

The last tycoon, amazon

Wishihadanalgorithm · 21/12/2020 21:42

I really got into Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector. Admittedly it wasn’t Oscar winning acting but the plot was enjoyable and so much better than some things which have 3 or more series.

So disappointing.

MitziK · 21/12/2020 21:44

Flashforward was dire. However long of people looking miserable and being alcoholic or miserable about somebody being alcoholic and the last ten minutes of every episode was somebody saying 'Don't you realise that x time ago, y happened and it was really, really bad?' (in slightly more words than that) and then everybody looking miserable again.
