What TV shows have you absolutely loved that have been cancelled after one season. Loads for me but 3 that stand out are

Ringer
Flashforward
Away (just heard this has been cancelled which has prompted this thread)

OP posts:

Critical on sky one - bloody brilliant.

andannabegins · 21/12/2020 20:27

Flesh and bone, I think, a series a bout a ballet school on Netflix

You're very welcome MissConductUS, just don't get too attached to it SadGrin

I think we need to start an online petition Evenstar!

Freaks and Geeks!

Also loved Lie to Me.

mamaduckbone · 21/12/2020 20:29

Taboo
It was brilliant but I think maybe Tom Hardy got a bit too megastar for the BBC.

ArosGartref · 21/12/2020 20:31

The Ioan Gruffudd was Forever - he wasn't a time traveller, he was immortal. I really enjoyed it. Joan Gruffudd was also in Ringer so I think he has bad luck with this kind of thing!

Andylion · 21/12/2020 20:39

I second Freaks and Geeks.

GloGirl · 21/12/2020 20:41

@Whalewithnosnail

Studio 60 on the sunset strip- I wish there had been a second season.
This, a thousand times.
Andylion · 21/12/2020 20:41

A Spanish series I saw on Netflix, Morocco: Love in Times of War.

Andylion · 21/12/2020 20:43

Swingtown with Molly Parker and Jack Davenport.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 21/12/2020 20:43

Ah man. I quite enjoyed Away.

drigon · 21/12/2020 20:43

Sorry, ArosGartref, I knew it was something time related! Of course, his son was a guy in his mid-70s (Judd Hirsch, I think), who'd been born in a concentration camp and the main character was late 30s or so. I liked the dynamic between them. The whole story fizzled out, unfortunately, at the end

musicinspring1 · 21/12/2020 20:46

I really liked The Halcyon on ITV but think I may have been the only one ?? Grin

PretendLife · 21/12/2020 20:47

Warren with Martin Clunes as the rude driving instructor. I though it was hilarious.

musicinspring1 · 21/12/2020 20:49

Ok I’ve just googled The Halcyon and by the end it still had 5 million ish viewers so there were more than just me watching it ! I just didn’t know anyone in ‘real life’ who watched it. Not sure why they cancelled it after one series - I felt it had more potential.

ParadiseLaundry · 21/12/2020 20:49

There was a show on Netflix called Daybreak about the zombie apocalypse and the only people unaffected were teenagers, I thought it was great and was gutted there wasn't another series. Sometimes I think Netflix don't give their series' long enough to develop.

I also thought Limitless was pretty good, whatsnewpussyhat!

ScienceSensibility · 21/12/2020 20:49

@Whalewithnosnail

Studio 60 on the sunset strip- I wish there had been a second season.
Agree. This was the first show that came to mind.

It was wonderful, I have no clue why it would be cancelled.

Also, North Square said by a PP. I love shows based around the law, and the cast was cracking. Phil Davis, Rupert Penry Sex God....

Berlioz23 · 21/12/2020 20:51

Lily’s on bbc about 10 years ago.

ScienceSensibility · 21/12/2020 20:51

I am quite certain I could be friends with the posters saying Studio 60.

I bet you all love The West Wing, too. 💞

poppet31 · 21/12/2020 20:52

The event was interesting

Berlioz23 · 21/12/2020 20:52

*lillies

musicinspring1 · 21/12/2020 20:52

I really wanted to like V Wars with Ian Somerhalder as I loved him in Vampire Diaries but let’s just say I wasn’t surprised it was cancelled after one series and it probably won’t make the list on this thread ....

ikltownofboothlehem · 21/12/2020 20:53

The Lost Room. They definitely could have done more with that.

Didiplanthis · 21/12/2020 20:53

Trainer... about 30 years ago !

margotsdevil · 21/12/2020 20:55

I came on to say Flashforward too!

But also (from 20+ years ago) The House of Eliot - I was gutted that it just "stopped".
