Imho some of the best: Amazon, Argos, Naked Wines, Skinnytan, AO, EE.
All great, no quibbles, friendly and helpful.

Worst: Sports Direct, Holland & Barrett, Zara.

Another hideous example of customer service is Asda. If you're not in when they come by, even though they are early, they will drive off with your shopping and you womt see it again or get a refund for 5 working days.
They dont answer the phone and one chap I was speaking to after trying for bloody hours was breaking wind down the phone as he was talking to me. We had another delivery driver who point blank refused to carry the shopping to the door and was very rude to myself and my young child.

Best I have had is probably ee. Especially the ones in Newcastle. Lovely ladies eager to help.

fizzysister · 22/12/2020 08:33

Worst-
GoGroopie host scammers and there's no recourse with either party. PayPal got me my refund after a stressful 4 failed delivery situation. However, I had a few phone calls disconnect whilst on hold and a very rude and unhelpful live chat rep before I was able to speak to somebody. So maybe them, too.

TalkTalk- just awful.

Best-
I've had great CS recently from Sainsburys, Tesco, Plusnet and a small underwear company in Scotland (Molke).

PatchworkElmer · 22/12/2020 08:40

Best- Tesco. Have been superb recently, drivers always lovely. Gave me a refund on a damaged item with no issues whatsoever.

Also Brooks- replaced a pair of faulty running shoes with no quibble. Was expecting a 10% off voucher at best as was well outside the returns window.

Worst- I honestly can’t think of any at the moment!

Worst: The Perfume Shop, ordered on 24th November, their site says delivered, they did not deliver. Contacted them on 1st December. Won't look at the claim until 23rd December.

Best: Local wool shop, left me short two balls of wool, sent them immediately after I contacted them along with two pattern books for the inconvenience.

Nowaynothappening · 22/12/2020 10:05

Talk talk are awful. Will never forget the stress of trying to get them to come and fit our internet when we moved into a new house. It took them 6 weeks in total, six fucking weeks without internet with three kids in the house. They fobbed me off constantly. Waited in for engineers to come a few times and they never showed. It was a shit show. Calling them always meant an hour long phone call being passed from pillar to post. Dreadful.

Amazon are great, always sort any issues I have out immediately. Refunds are sorted no quibbles, even refunded me once when I forgot to cancel a prime trial years ago.

NorbertMeubles · 22/12/2020 10:21

Worst - Talk Talk, I have horrible memories of when we used them. Never ever again.

NorbertMeubles · 22/12/2020 16:51

I've been really happily surprised by the customer service in JD Sports. I have only ever been twice and the staff were so helpful. Amazing service. A credit to retail. And I know that makes me sound a million and one 😃

roxyk0303 · 22/12/2020 16:57

@CoronaIsWatching

Worst: BT/Openreach
They are a nitemare in general!

I have the misfortune to have to deal with them through work. There procedures for doing EVERYTHING are so stuck in the 1980s that I'm really not surprised their customer service is terrible.

They are completely incapable (and unwilling) to move with the times, and expect everyone they deal with to stay in the 80s too because "it's just how they operate"

I'm actually surprised we're not still using cups on each end of a length of string to speak to each other.

ConfusedDotty · 22/12/2020 17:01

Best.
BMW
Amazon

Worst
BT
EoN

Crazzzycat · 22/12/2020 17:08

Best: Lakeland. They once sent me a wrong item and were so incredibly apologetic. They sent me the correct item straight away AND told me to keep the original one as a good will gesture

Worst: La Redoute. I’m not sure they even have a customer service department, they are THAT shit

SeeyouontheothersideofCovid · 22/12/2020 17:20

Best - Amazon, Boden, Fitbit, Hobbs.

Worst by millions of miles - BT.

FrayedBentos · 22/12/2020 17:22

IKEA - the absolute dregs of a company.

Wretched, cheap quality products and hopeless in store Customer Services
Constantly harangue their suppliers about improving cost prices or they will stop dealing with them.
Their Tax avoidance including moving much of their senior management operations from Sweden to Switzerland, makes Facebook and Google look like bountiful tax contributors.
Woeful Attempts to leverage a “cool” Scandinavian ambience.

DoubleHelix79 · 22/12/2020 17:27

O2 have always been great - been with them for over 10 years now

HRHPP · 22/12/2020 17:37

worst - Biernuts craft beer company who are shocking and force you to pay for next day delivery for orders they know they can’t complete . They then send fake dispatch numbers to keep you hanging on.... am still awaiting a refund for advent calendar I was reassured would be delivered by 1 st December. Shite and dishonest .

Also bad ...CMS . I have no words to describe how bad the CMS are. Not fit for purpose is putting it mildly.

YourWurstNightmare · 22/12/2020 17:45

Best: Amazon had a wobble last year and I had several issues, but I must admit they have been flawless this year.

Worst: John Lewis and Ocado. Had to do a chargeback for undelivered items from Ocado. Even my credit card provider was shocked at how obstinate they were.

Mariebarrone · 22/12/2020 18:31

Good: Furniture Village, Seasalt, Amazon, Booths - always so friendly, AO

Bad: BT/Openreach,

FireUnderpants · 22/12/2020 18:40

Amazon are amazing. Sent an item back and had a refund within 12hrs of dropping it off at a newsagents 100m away from my front door.

Asda home/george are terrible. I had a rug delivered that was not the one I had ordered. I waited on hold for 25mins, went through order no, address etc and was told to wait a sec to arrange a collection. It hung up on me so I called back. Another 25mins to be told the order number didn't exist and that I need to read the email properly. I have a rug I can't send back as it doesn't exist and I can't take it to a store as its too big.

PhylisPrice · 22/12/2020 18:42

Absolute worst of all is BT, they actually made me cry with frustration! Can't think of a best to be honest...

2magpies1pigeon · 22/12/2020 19:01

BT and their staff gave me hell for weeks.

Nat6999 · 22/12/2020 19:01

Best 3 mobile

Worst Currys, I ordered a smartwatch & earbuds online costing £450 which didn't arrive, spent 3 solid days on the phone trying to get through to customer services only to be told I had to wait 14 days before they would replace my order.

spaceghetto · 22/12/2020 19:03

Aldi for best, Sainsbury's the worst. In my local Aldi, the cashiers are so friendly and when I once had a screaming ds wanting a feed, they packed my shopping in the trolley and let me cone back and get it when I was finished. In my local Sainsbury's, they'll whizz everything through then just watch as you juggle packing with holding children!

HeronLanyon · 22/12/2020 19:07

Best Lakeland. Hands down.

Worst Lloyds bank. Hands down. Every time.

Twinkie01 · 22/12/2020 19:07

John Lewis have always had great customer service but they did send me a hand written card and gift this year so I'm biased and it may be due to the fact that I spend so much money there.

Dyson, by far the crappiest customer service I have ever received from any company in my whole life

HeronLanyon · 22/12/2020 19:08

Sorry just. Even reminded of BT - so awful and stressful and ineffectual. Really really awful left them because of it.

5lilducks · 22/12/2020 19:08

Best - Jacque of London , Wicked Uncle , Tesco & John Lewis

Worst- Hermes, Hermes , Hermes, Hermes. My heart sinks when I find out Hermes have been contracted to deliver something I ordered.
