Imho some of the best: Amazon, Argos, Naked Wines, Skinnytan, AO, EE.
All great, no quibbles, friendly and helpful.

Worst: Sports Direct, Holland & Barrett, Zara.

Naked wines,

yearinyearout · 21/12/2020 08:20

I've had excellent customer service from Fitbit, mobile phones direct, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Airbnb
Worst have been hermes, b&q (probably more incompetence than bad customer service)

wellingtonsandwaffles · 21/12/2020 08:23

Recent excellent experiences with SodaStream and VisionDirect - Both went above and beyond to resolve issues without masses of paperwork and any effort needed from our end. IKEA has been terrible recently.

Yy to sports direct being awful. I feel sorry for their staff.

Oh here we go.... let’s all slag off retail

Last week I received the best customer service ever by an absolute mile, thanks to Amazon!

Five month old dash cam develops two major faults. Go in to app, request call. Thirty seconds later amazon call. I explain situation. They email direct link to contact seller and say they'll call again in four days. They do, same lady in fact. She says she'll issue a refund right there and then!
Seller had offered a replacement which I didn't want. She emails me a free post label, I print out and send dash cam to amazon in Leeds. Seven hours later they've got it! 24 hours later I have refund in my bank act. Unbelievable service, lightening fast. Just bought a new dash cam for twice the price and two year warranty. You get what you pay for etc

Oh here we go.... let’s all slag off retail if retailers are consistently offering bad customer service then it’s no more than they deserve if customers speak out against them and either refuse to do business with them again or give them bad reviews so as to forewarn others.

Sports Direct is an awful, awful establishment. If I ever had to shop there I would pay the postage costs so as to avoid having to enter their shops.

TalkTalk, years ago I was with them, and when I left, they kept sending me 0 balance bills with a £2.50 charge for sending me a paperless bill, even though I was no longer a customer with them. They even went so far as to threaten court action. Never again.

Ikea are a mixed bag. Ordered furniture for delivery which wasn’t an issue, but getting through to their customer service was a nightmare.

Amazon are great - ordered something last week, returned it within a couple of days and had the refund back in my account even before they could have received the product. Similarly ordered some bowls and one was broken. I had two sets so returning them wasn’t too big a deal, so they just part refunded for the broken item.

AlternativePerspective · 21/12/2020 08:41

Ocado are another awful one.

Lakeland are excellent.

Olivetreekeeper · 21/12/2020 08:43

Best - Majestic Wine
Worst - Currys

Superstardjs · 21/12/2020 08:44

Both Sky and Virgin are consistently fucking awful.

I have had excellent products and service all year from all the various Etsy traders I have bought from.

Springersrock · 21/12/2020 08:44

Best - Not On The High Street, Amazon, a company called Gretna Green.com - minor screw up with my order and was sorted straight away

Worst - Sky

Iwantacookie · 21/12/2020 08:47

Virgin media customer service is the actual worst in the world. I swear you cant work for them if you have more brain cells than an orange

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 21/12/2020 08:48

In the past fortnight
Amazon, eBay - brilliant.
Hermes - atrocious.

nosswith · 21/12/2020 08:48

Sainsburys deliveries I have probably four or five times a year for bulk items such as washing powder. They have never failed a delivery time. John Lewis and Waitrose likewise excellent customer service which you know you pay for but is still appreciated.

Worst for me is BT who are a big obstacle to business and their remit and responsibilities should be tightened. The other two are Ryanair (no person who loves horses should use them, never mind the self-flagellation of their service) and Sports Direct. I don't use them at all as a result.

Newnamefor2021 · 21/12/2020 08:49

Amazon been great.

Worse - Ernest jones, British Gas, m&s.

Mintjulia · 21/12/2020 08:49

Best - Boden, M&S, EE, Waterstones
Worst - Vodafone by a country mile.

Iwantacookie · 21/12/2020 08:51

Believe it or not the best customer service I got was from jcb.
We had taken ds2 to one of their digger lands for a birthday treat to find out it no longer existed.
Emailed jcb and they sent ds2 a tonka sized jcb to apologise.
We were shocked as wed only wanted to ask them to take it down so kids didnt get upset to get there and find it not there. They even invited us down to their main offices to come see the massive jcb in their foyer. They let ds2 climb on it too!
Absolutely brilliant they were.

Buzzthedragon · 21/12/2020 08:52

Hermes and Vodafone. The worst ever .
Virgin. Also very bad.
Amazon... ime very good.
Oh and Vistaprint. Horrendous
