Imho some of the best: Amazon, Argos, Naked Wines, Skinnytan, AO, EE.
All great, no quibbles, friendly and helpful.

Worst: Sports Direct, Holland & Barrett, Zara.

In the last month or so....
Best...Costa, Amazon, local independent hardware shop
Worst...Asda - cancelled my Christmas click and collect slot for no reason and both their phone and email customer service are just automated responses.

Starisnotanumber · 21/12/2020 10:50

Jet2 were amazing had flights booked for months before the November lockdown.
Didn't even have to contact them they cancelled the flights and refunded all the money to my account without any form filling at all

Virgin tv were shockingly awful when I had to call to change the ac over after my husband died. He had set it up and I didn’t know the password. I would explain, be passed on to someone who could help, they would ask for the password, I would explain, they would pass me on to someone else..... on and on. It took hours. I would get exhausted and just try again on another day. Funnily Virgin mobile had a dedicated department who dealt with it immediately and also seemed quite aware of the problems with the tv.
Sometimes when I call, I still get told that it is not the correct name. The call handlers are always really embarrassed and apologetic when I explain ( again) but it’s really not their fault.

Absolute worst for me is British Gas, mainly their app based messaging service, it's rubbish and they seem to have no idea what they're doing.
I can only get online help via Twitter or text but it takes ages to get a reply presumably because every other avenue is shit and they're busy.

Just eat customer service is diabolical.

Always had good customer service from Amazon

MoonDelay · 21/12/2020 11:37

Oh yes and Vodafone customer service is good. Didn't have a seamless service from them a while ago but they compensated each time.

CisMyArse · 21/12/2020 11:52

Best: Amazon

Worst : Go Outdoors.
Cancelled an order and didn't refund the £3 I paid for postage. Ignoring my emails so I have taken to Twitter.

I know it's only £3 but they regularly sell items online that aren't in stock so they regularly 'fail' to refund the £3-6 postage. Thieves.

Livpool · 21/12/2020 12:04

Best I have experienced lately:
Asda - delivery drivers are always lovely
Beer Hawk - ordered a present for DH on Saturday evening and it arrived this morning (will definitely use again)
Amazon - saved Christmas this year and their delivery drivers are always friendly

Worst:
Sky - I hate dealing with them
Scottish Power - we moved in October 2018 and had problems since then. We have now moved supplier

Nowombattheinn · 21/12/2020 12:06

The absolute worst are BT by a mile. Just disgraceful.
Then Argos, Currys and Vodafone

Best would be John Lewis, Amazon and The Entertainer Toy Shop

RosesAndHellebores · 21/12/2020 12:10

Worst Virgin and paradoxically John Lewis.
Best: Boden, Seasalt, Kwikfit.

MrsKiplingwasmymother · 21/12/2020 12:12

Vax, truly awful

Winterlight · 21/12/2020 12:14

Little Greene Paint have always been brilliant.

La Redoute not so; taken orders that weren’t in stock, big delivery delays and poor communication.

catlovingdoctor · 21/12/2020 12:18

Best: Uber, Ralph Lauren

Worst: Hermes, Curry's PC world...both downright terrible!

John Lewis has definitely gone downhill in recent years too.

Bells3032 · 21/12/2020 12:24

Best - Tesco, amazon, natwest

Worst - Halifax, Barclays and Sketchers

Buzzthedragon · 21/12/2020 12:57

Oh Im sure someone must have said Santander.
Awful

2020quelhorreur · 21/12/2020 12:59

Amazon: good
Ikea: mind blowingly awful

TheresNothingIWantMore · 21/12/2020 13:03

I remember when I had to call Amazon. Made a cup of tea and found a good mumsnet thread to read as I expected to be on hold for ages. Was all sorted completely to my satisfaction within a couple of minutes.

Beko are by far the worst, weeks of promises of calls back that never came. As part of that I also had to deal with AO also and they were amazing

MyFavouritePlace · 21/12/2020 13:06

Agree with Timpsons and Amazon. Reiss and Habitat have both been good this year.

JustLikeStitch · 21/12/2020 13:07

NowTv - been with them for years now and consistently received amazing customer service. Their broadband is a bit temperamental but they’re always quick to get it sorted and the service I’ve received is the main reason I stay with them!

Davros · 21/12/2020 13:18

Good:
Amazon
John Lewis
Bo Concept
Made
Mathmos

Bad:
Perch & Parrow
Virgin media - diabolical

ChristmasUserName2020 · 21/12/2020 13:18

Best are B&Q.
Worst are British Gas 😡😡

cortex10 · 21/12/2020 13:20

Sky totally exceeded expectations for us recently. Our broadband was running very slow all week and making working from home difficult. We carried out the online diagnostic test on Saturday morning - it indicated we needed an engineer call out. Managed to get an engineer out on Sunday (it did cost us £15). The engineer spent about an hour and a half testing and reconfiguring the router and links and the outcome was better network speeds than we've ever seen. Excellent.

CoronaIsWatching · 21/12/2020 13:21

@ChristmasUserName2020

Best are B&Q. Worst are British Gas 😡😡
I phoned British Gas a couple of weeks ago to tell them I've moved into a new flat and get my account set up, promised an email to get it all set up but never received anything. Dreading having to call them again and getting another operator whos primary method of communicating is via grunts
NorbertMeubles · 21/12/2020 13:23

The Cotswold Company and Bensons for Beds were both really bad

BearSoFair · 21/12/2020 13:23

Best: John Lewis, Waterstones, unexpectedly Easyjet!
Worst: Currys, Virgin Media

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 21/12/2020 13:31

All the yarn sites have been good this year.
Small companies like Callowgreys Patches, Face Dfndrs, have been good.
ao are prompt.

Poor have been Boots who cancelled my email address, so I couldn’t
order online, despite sending me emails.
Marks and Spencer, who are incompetent and uncontactable. They don’t respond to live chat, email or Twitter.
Brand Alley have disappointed me and they’re not responding to emails either.
I’m no longer with Santander, but some years ago, they managed to ‘lose’ £50,000 of my money.
