A horrible nasty boy in her class

freakdechic · 10/12/2020 14:13

I think it could classed as assault, sorry for your dd

Lardlizard · 10/12/2020 14:14

She told the teacher, and apparently all the teacher said was I didn’t see anything and shrugged
Even though dds hair is all one length and long and now there’s a massive chunk missing

I wouldn’t be so fuming as I am if the teacher at the very least bollocked the boy

Same happened to me as a kid and the police treated it like an assault. Maybe give 101 a ring for advice?

OrigamiPenguinArmy · 10/12/2020 14:15

It probably would be classed as some kind of assault in law. I’d guess either common assault or battery.

Finfintytint · 10/12/2020 14:15

There was a case back in 2006 where is was deemed an assault ( first case of it’s kind I think).

Trichford · 10/12/2020 14:15

What a horrible little bastard 🤬 I'd be furious! I agree with other poster, definitely a form of assault! I feel so sorry for your daughter.

Smarshian · 10/12/2020 14:15

I would say that’s assault.

Lardlizard · 10/12/2020 14:16

That what I was thinking is this an actual assault ? I’m going down there tomorrow to speak to the head In person
I can’t go today as I will lose my shit
But I want to know if should involve the police I couldn’t give a shit if they think it’s wasting time
But if it’s a crime it’s a crime
And I will tie this as far as it can go and cause them the biggest shit storm they’ve seen
Fuckign pathetic useless teacher
I will also be speaking to This actual teacher in person as well

Also the school need to get on top of it - the same boy who cut my hair later put his hands around my neck and tried to choke me. He also brought a knife to school!

Not to scare you op but he made my life an absolute misery and it was partly because the school wouldn't do anything because he was troubled.

If the class teacher won't do anything, I'd be speaking to the head of year or school head.

QuestionableMouse · 10/12/2020 14:18

I would absolutely speak to the police. Schools are rubbish at dealing with bullying ime and a visit from the police might just be the shock the little shit needs to shape up.

Changethetoner · 10/12/2020 14:18

He had scissors, and was mucking about with them, and the teacher did not notice. or care. he cut her hair but it could have been worse. Definitely speak with the Head Teacher.

Finfintytint · 10/12/2020 14:19

If you do involve the police don’t be fobbed off if you don’t want it dealt with under the schools’ policy. They’ll more than likely want the school to deal with it but it doesn’t sound like the school is capable of dealing with it properly.

Retiremental · 10/12/2020 14:22

I would assume this is definitely assault.
I would contact them on the non emergency number now.
Get DD to write down exactly what happened including the teachers response.

What a disgusting little shit. Fucking hate bullies.

bitofcoin · 10/12/2020 14:23

I'm so sorry for your DD, what a horrible thing to happen to her. I hope she's doing okay and gets over this.
I would be apoplectic. Go give them hell.

To reiterate what other PPs have said, cutting someone's hair without consent is assault (or, actually, it's called battery). If I can find the case that supports it, I will xx

FelicityPike · 10/12/2020 14:31

Fucking wee dick 🤬.
Absolutely phone the police!

Definitely get the police involve to show this horrible boy he can't treat women like this. You know he wouldn't have taken scissors to a boys hair

MyGodImSoYoung · 10/12/2020 14:32

The case is DPP v Smith

It was actually classed as Actual Bodily Harm, which is more serious that assault and battery.

Koffeekake · 10/12/2020 14:32

@rayofsunshine its okay for 13 year olds to go around cutting peoples hair?
What should OPs daughter do? Shrugged it off? Punch him in the face? Cut his hair back? Or inform the police that this person has assaulted her?

ComDummings · 10/12/2020 14:32

I would not hesitate to report this to the police.
