Do you deep clean your house before putting up Christmas decorations and your tree?

I remember my mum massively deep cleaning the house prior to any decorations going up! and it's kind of stuck with me in my adult years.. just wondering who else does it?

I do! I do it because I want to, not because I have a vagina!

Yes of course, but we are not weekly cleaners here.
So surfaces where Xmas room is Dec's will be go are dusty.
There's clutter too.
Usual room ornaments are put away, surfaces cleaned, clutter filled or chucked and then we a re ready! Mirrors polished, everything tidied but Xmas is a huge room transformation here. I hang things from the ceiling, every surface has something Xmassy on it.

Op when we are older and scale back this production I probably won't need to clean as much before decks go up!!

Deep clean, I must admit, in my house deep clean doesn't cover pulling fridges out or wiping skirting boards.

That would come under excessive unnecessary cleaning here.

Op, are you basically saying that you're on a constant deep clean anyway, don't like clutter and are not into Xmas?

I do it just after the cleaner comes and take them down just before she's due.
