What are you all doing for NYE?

We usually host on New Years but obviously can’t this year. We were thinking of going out for dinner with some friends but we’re Tier 2 so can’t sit together unless it’s outside. DP then suggested we go out for dinner just us but with the 11pm curfew I think it would feel a bit weird getting home just before midnight.

I think it might end up being a night in with M&S party food. Anyone got any exciting plans/ideas?

We are having some drinks outside with a few friends for an hour, some fireworks and then home early to bed.

I don't actually like new year very much. Soulless commercialism.

Bottle of bubbly and a takeaway. The same as every year.

We usually go to the village pub which does a family friendly NYE, then over to our neighbours for a New Year's Day bbq, but not this year. Will be staying at home with DH and DC - probably get some party food in, watch a film, get DC to bed and watch another film. Then go for a walk on New Year's Day. Different but still nice.

I am planning a nice big party, all of my friends and family round, nice food and drink, think i'll host it as an open house too and the older generation are more than welcome to come mingle. After all, if one person does have 'the bug' that's going round the more people who they can share it with means they will have less of it? 1 person 100% share it with 100 people 1% of the virus each. That is how it works, am I right?
