Has anyone seen this terrifying advert? It gives cult vibes. And the way the echo 'daisy' at the end gives me the creeps! Has anyone else seen it?

It reminds of The Wicker Man (the original one)

It’s daft AF

Doublebubblebubble · 29/11/2020 12:22

I thought that too. Very "Midsommar" ish. It reminded me to put it on my Christmas list though so I guess it worked.

Clymene · 29/11/2020 12:25

@Moooooooooooooooooo

The only thing I notice about this bloody annoying advert is their unfettered breasts bouncing around as they run, Wondering if this advert was really made for blokes to enjoy/was directed by a bloke etc etc.
It's just another soft porn ad. Most perfume ads are aimed at men

I think the women look fantastic, very healthy. Like PP I think they are behaving like little girls, skipping and frolicking with each other which makes it weird and yes, appealing to the male gaze. I also get creepy horror film vibes, it reminds me a bit of A field in England, where natural imagery suddenly feels threatening.

ktp100 · 29/11/2020 12:56

I don't find it creepy, just incredibly shit!!

The 'Daisy, Daisy, Daisy. Daisy' bit makes me want to put my foot through the telly.

It's even worse than the 'Pocket tap, pocket tap' bloke and that's saying A LOT!!!

That's the trouble. Men aren't supposed to find little girls appealing, are they?

@Teacup34

I've not really paid attention to this one but has anyone seen the Very advert? it starts with a women with a bun in her hair drinking from a mug on the left-hand side there is a blurred strip it has a really creepy face in it Shock
Can someone link to the Very ad please? I can’t find it!
Teacup34 · 29/11/2020 17:56

I can't find the advert either, haha I'm not mad honest it keeps coming up when I'm watching something on YouTube, it's a really short advert you would not know what it was advertising if the Very logo didn't come up at the end!

I reckon they just pulled that bloke out of some random queue somewhere and thought he'll do. He's most odd.

It is utterly ghastly.
The music playing is a track called "Suicide" by Cheree from 1978.
It has Charles Manson written all over it.
3 brain dead idiots dancing around to suicide, while repeatedly chanting Daisy. What are these advertisers trying to do?

user1471565182 · 09/12/2020 21:18

The sound levels are all over the place, its unsettling.

user1471565182 · 09/12/2020 21:19

The track is by Suicide. Not called suicide. The actually had some good tunes back in the day.

sweetkitty · 09/12/2020 21:33

I’ve bought the gift set for DD1 who is 16 looks 12 is 7stone 2lbs and 5ft 4ins bless her. She and her friends don’t run about with Daisies in their hair though.

MichelleScarn · 09/12/2020 21:34

It also reminds me of a weird book/film that was a bit cultish Daughters of Eve or something I think?Something about a teacher who gets her pupils to go on killing spree? Nice.. am sure it was one of the 'banned at school so we all sought it out' books!

Codypants · 09/12/2020 23:41

Thank you for the clarification.
It is still an advert oozing with cultist ideals.
It is an awful advert.
But, if you want to buy into this garbage, then please do.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 09/12/2020 23:56

One of the worst advert show ever. It just brings Epstein to mind. Yuck and double yuck. Drugged up kids playing for the weirdo behind the camera...

Portman abusive relationship one not much better. Oh for the innocent days of Charlize THeron growling “j’aDORe”. They all seem so try-too-hard and dated.

I DO love the Chanel no 5 one with Marion Cotillard dancing on the moon. Somehow mesmerising, with no hint of creepiness or cringe.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 10/12/2020 00:04

@Evasmissingletter

I love it. I was thinking of buying Daisy because of this. So different to other perfume ads. No glam, no OTT make up, no ridiculous fashion statements, no stupid stunts, no men, no sex , no opulent settings. I love the simplicity and pureness of it.
It looks as though it’s aimed at early teens girls, I can’t see how it appeals to an adult woman at all.
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 10/12/2020 00:07

The way they say Daisy Daisy Daisy at the end really irritates me, as does the other stupid advert where they repeat the word ‘perfect’ a million times

nevernotstruggling · 10/12/2020 00:13

The dds have seen this advert they think it's bizarre. It's super creepy and ridiculous

Pipandmum · 10/12/2020 00:16

I don't like it either. Young teenagers frolicking in a meadow? How 70s! And the repetitive words turn me off completely - they do not sound particularly nice.

eaglejulesk · 10/12/2020 00:28

It's a stupid ad, but then so many are. I can't see anything creepy about it though, it's just an ad for Daisy featuring ...... daisies!!

NannyJacky · 14/03/2021 21:08

I find it weird and perhaps the reason most find it strange is the mixed message. Women acting like innocent girls but being sexual?

saracorona · 15/03/2021 08:58

It's the Daisy, daisy litany, winds me up! I find most perfume ads annoying!

Kissingspines · 15/03/2021 09:13

Reminds me a bit of the photogapher David Hamilton’s pictures, from the late 70s, all soft focus, bucolic, young girls, bra-less in floaty white dresses. Supposed to be “art” but really pornography.

Google tells me that he committed suicide in 2016 after being accused of rape by some of his former models, which sadly doesn’t surprise me.

yvonj · 14/12/2021 15:10

Yes Ive been complaining about this too. Mind you, I have been following the Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell case recently. How old are THESE girls?
