Has anyone seen this terrifying advert? It gives cult vibes. And the way the echo 'daisy' at the end gives me the creeps! Has anyone else seen it?

Hate this advert as well as the one that repeats the word 'perfect'. My DD looked at me when it was on and said 'they all come across as brain dead'

WheresMyMask · 29/11/2020 09:57

they don't look happy or nourished

Are we watching the same ad? They are smiling all the way through and they aren't stuck thin. They are slim and healthy looking.

farfallarocks · 29/11/2020 09:59

They look slim but heathy to me

I don't know where you live but I'm 5ft 9.5, most young girls aren't taller than me & the ones that are a variety of sizes as opposed to all having 24" waists.

I doubt they are 24''. I have a 30'' waist and I'm a size 10. When I was a size 6 at my slimmest as a teen, I my waist was about 26''. At the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with being slim as long as you are healthy. We can't ask for body positivity if all it means is putting down slimmer women.

Diverseopinions · 29/11/2020 10:00

Perhaps the marketing team think the image of the product itself is a bit dated now, so the only way they can sell it is to say, 'Hey this is tired, but we all like our familiar passe products don't we? We know we shouldn't, but Daisy is our guilty pleasure.'

Backbee · 29/11/2020 10:01

I think it would have worked better with one model dancing whimsically around the field, but it does come across a bit creepy and cult like (and can't work out why). They all look healthy and absolutely stunning though in my opinion, the music choice is interesting too.

Bluntness100 · 29/11/2020 10:03

Meh, it’s a bit daft but they all are to be honest. No good perfume advert has ever been made.

I think it conveys what they are trying to say about the perfume, youthful, light, summery, fresh.

the80sweregreat · 29/11/2020 10:03

I have allergies to most perfumes , so It makes me hate it even more.

questionn · 29/11/2020 10:04

@MoonElk who said anything about putting slimmer women down? Most models are required to be above 5ft 8 & have a 24" waist. You can easily google the model cards for the models in this advert. My point was simply that most people don't have the physiques of models, do you disagree?

BawJaws · 29/11/2020 10:04

It’s chanelling Virgin suicides IMO and they look like they’re wearing nighties but really I don’t even have an opinion

dottiedodah · 29/11/2020 10:08

I cant really see an issue here TBH. All perfume ads contain ladies of slim proportions and large bank balances! They are something we feel a connection to? Jennifer Lawrence coming out of the water? Mick Jaggers DD doing John Paul Gautier and so on .I think it is meant to be a refreshing take on a light summery smell .

Gherkinbee · 29/11/2020 10:09

They are trying to demonstrate the dangers of drinking perfume....you'll end up in a field in your nightie, whispering daisy, daisy,daisy..

FourPlatinumRings · 29/11/2020 10:16

I just assumed that was their target market for Daisy?

Me too. I mean, if you look at the bottle it doesn't look like it's aimed at adults.

SquirrelFan · 29/11/2020 10:17

Very Midsommar vibe.

Dyrne · 29/11/2020 10:27

Why single out this one? Perfume ads are always weird. But God forbid we have a perfume ad that isn’t sexualised as fuck.

I much prefer this one over that one with Natalie Portman showing a weirdly abusive relationship somehow displayed as a good thing.

Poppingnostopping · 29/11/2020 10:27

It's terrible, the smiles are fake, prancing around nighties holding hands, it's all very strange, but it does get over the concept of the product somehow, which is fresh and young. All perfume ads are disturbing!

IDontMindMarmite · 29/11/2020 10:29

Do tweens/ teens really spend £46-60 on perfume?!
june2007 · 29/11/2020 10:33

Don,t like the advert. Think its trying to be whimsical. But I don,t think it,s creepy.

MrsMoastyToasty · 29/11/2020 10:35

I can envisage Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders doing a pisstake.

DontCryForMeNextdoorNeighbour · 29/11/2020 10:35

I dont normally remember adverts but i do remember seeing that one and thinking it was very creepy! Something really odd about it, in a bad way.

FourPlatinumRings · 29/11/2020 10:35

They could get it as a gift, I'd imagine. And kids these days can spend three figures on a hoodie, so 🤷

Curlygirl06 · 29/11/2020 10:37

@StCharlotte

Is there a special agency that does perfume ads. Or do they let the YTS kids loose on them? They are all utterly bizarre.
This^! Looks like it was done last thing before home time on a Friday by a group of teenagers.
zaphodbeeble · 29/11/2020 10:39

PerfumeAdsForSale on Twitter is a good one to follow, totally takes the piss out of these daft adverts

Passmeabottlemrjones · 29/11/2020 10:40

It didn't even occur to me that this ad was creepy, I just saw it as yet another bollocks perfume ad with beautiful people wafting around in a way that no one does in real life.

However, the worst perfume ad ever remains the Natalie Portman Miss Dior one, it makes me chuckle every time its on!

ancientgran · 29/11/2020 10:44

Adverts are often stupid though, what about the one with adults with childrens voices? For Haribo I think. I think it's more likely that teenage girls with run around a field than police officers will talk about sweets in a silly voice.
