Has anyone seen this terrifying advert? It gives cult vibes. And the way the echo 'daisy' at the end gives me the creeps! Has anyone else seen it?

I doubt they are 24''. I have a 30'' waist and I'm a size 10. When I was a size 6 at my slimmest as a teen, I my waist was about 26''. At the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with being slim as long as you are healthy. We can't ask for body positivity if all it means is putting down slimmer women. I had a 23" waist as a teenager and I wasn't considered particularly thin, it was the 60s though. Weirdly I think we did have smaller waists then, I often think that even very slim girls don't have as defined a waist as we used to.

Dyrne · 29/11/2020 10:46

I think it's more likely that teenage girls with run around a field than police officers will talk about sweets in a silly voice

I wouldn’t be so sure about that Grin Grin

@Evasmissingletter

I love it. I was thinking of buying Daisy because of this. So different to other perfume ads. No glam, no OTT make up, no ridiculous fashion statements, no stupid stunts, no men, no sex , no opulent settings. I love the simplicity and pureness of it.
Crikey!

I was seeing adult, nubile women in skimpy, quite childish clothing, hints of lesbianinity(? sorry, there's no real word for what I meant) lots of faux innocence and smiles to camera and pure fantasy porn for men of a certain type!

They either portray 'little sisters' of a misogynistc cult or sexually available acid droppers.

Basically, they are 20 something women beings portrayed as 7 year old girls. Which is weird!

There is something creepy about it. It put me in mind of the final scene in Us where the Tethered are all holding hands and the song playing is Les Fleurs by Minnie Riperton. Shudder.

ancientgran · 29/11/2020 10:50

@Dyrne I wouldn’t be so sure about that Well DH is a retired police officer and I've never heard him or his mates doing it but maybe they just do it in private.

elsaesmeralda · 29/11/2020 10:52

I do think the way they repeat 'Daisy' is abit odd but all perfume ads are ridiculous !

haircutsRus · 29/11/2020 10:53

Thank goodness it isn't just me who finds this ad so uncomfortable to watch.

elsaesmeralda · 29/11/2020 10:53

@Passmeabottlemrjones

It didn't even occur to me that this ad was creepy, I just saw it as yet another bollocks perfume ad with beautiful people wafting around in a way that no one does in real life.

However, the worst perfume ad ever remains the Natalie Portman Miss Dior one, it makes me chuckle every time its on!

Omg it makes me cringe everytime 🤣
Teacup34 · 29/11/2020 10:54

Huh? Shock
blacksax · 29/11/2020 11:08

@CuriousaboutSamphire has it pretty much spot on I reckon.

Diverseopinions · 29/11/2020 11:13

The models break into a little coughing laugh at the end when they are saying "Daisy, Daisy, Daisy....." so it seems they are being directed to say it repetitively and deliberately annoyingly.

StCharlotte · 29/11/2020 11:14

@ancientgran

Adverts are often stupid though, what about the one with adults with childrens voices? For Haribo I think. I think it's more likely that teenage girls with run around a field than police officers will talk about sweets in a silly voice.
Get in the bin! I love the Haribo adverts Grin
Deadringer · 29/11/2020 11:15

I watched it without sound and they all look stoned to me.

Scumble · 29/11/2020 11:18

Yeah, this advert is annoying.

Trying to decide whether it's as annoying as that Pandora one where they're all dressed in the same shade of pink with pink balloons abound. They just don't look like real friends who would pick up the pieces after a failed relationship or get merry on half a bottle of pinot and scoff all the Quavers. It really grates somehow.

ancientgran · 29/11/2020 11:18

@StCharlotte I like the Haribo advert, makes me laugh but it isn't anymore realistic than girls in white dresses running in a field.

StCharlotte · 29/11/2020 11:20

Are any adverts realistic? You'd never sell anything.

Agwen · 29/11/2020 11:21

Reminds me of Picnic at Hanging Rock. A bit other worldly, in a bubble. It's got a fresh, relaxed and happy vibe which I guess it what they were aiming for.

I received Daisy as an unexpected gift last Christmas and quite like it because it is pretty youthful without being sickly sweet. Fairly standard daytime perfume I think. I'm 44 so well outside their target market i expect Grin

Evasmissingletter · 29/11/2020 11:23

Crikey back ! I just saw some teenagers in a field having a laugh. Maybe I’ve led a sheltered life😃

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 29/11/2020 11:24

I loathe all perfume adverts. Trouble is they stay around for bloody years & years.

Yep, adults skipping downhill holding hands and playing ring-a-roses. It's the whole faux innocence crap that annoys me most. So creepy.

My worst was the Gucci bloom? With the song wild horses. Mostly because I can't bear the song.

Teacup34 · 29/11/2020 11:58

Passmeabottlemrjones yes my dh noticed it I thought he was just being silly but no it's there!! Really creepy!!

Moooooooooooooooooo · 29/11/2020 11:59

The only thing I notice about this bloody annoying advert is their unfettered breasts bouncing around as they run, Wondering if this advert was really made for blokes to enjoy/was directed by a bloke etc etc.

Yes. The trouble with it is that they are dressed as, and have been directed to behave, like little girls frolicking about and being all touchy-feely in the long grass.
AcornAutumn · 29/11/2020 12:19

I don’t find it sinister but they’re clearly off their faces on Molly or sone such.
